The worst Olympics! Bad opening ceremony. Forcing athletes to swin in polluted river. Bad accommodation. Giving medals without reviewing appeal first. Like what the hell? How is it okay to give and withdraw a medal given? How do you think the gymnast feel after you take her medal away? You should have review appeals first before giving medals.

@@Dreamswithirik1) I box and know that there had been complaints about Imane Khelif for years. This was before the IBA tests. Female boxers, coaches and boxing organizations filed complaints about Khelif being a man every since he started in the adult womens boxing circuit. Look at his fight with Brianda Cruz from a year ago. He almost massacred her and hes walking into her punches without flinching.
      2) This was handled privately initally. The IBA tested and found Khelif was a man. Khelif was given the opportunity to retest. Khelif refused. Khelif could have appealed and did initally and dropped the appeal. This was in over a year go when this tests was done so Khelif knew.
      3) Khelif applied for the Olympics anyhow. The IBA sent a letter with the test results to the medical team for the IOC a year ago to warn them about Khelif. This was not done publicly but a private letter. The IOC didnt respond and allowed Khelif in. They said they only use passports to verify biological sex.
      4) When Khelif boxed Carini and didnt last in the ring because her nose wss broken and she was bloody. People knew it was a man. The IBA was forced to do a press releae on their website saying they told the IOC a year ago and Khelif knew a yr ago as well. This was now a safety and dangerous game the IOC and Khelif were playing.
      5) IOC president did a press conference and disregarded the IBA and their results. The IOC said they dont do testing at all. Only look at the passport. The IBA was then forced to do a press conference in Paris because Khelif was getting ready to fight more women and potentially seriously injure or kill a woman.
      6) The IOC has done nothing (not one single test) since and allows Khelif to compete. Khelif and his team drum up sympathy and do interviews bring more attention to their so called private situation.
      7) Khelif dresses, walks, talks and sits like a young adult man. Khelif literally wears mens suits, clothing and jewelry. Its so blatant and Khelif posts pics on his Instagram.
This is essentially what happened. Everyone knew including Khelif and they arent going to stop until a woman is killed.

As an American their complaint shouldn’t have been accepted because if you look at both Simone and Jordan’s performances, Biles went way out of bounds and Chiles didn’t execute her landings perfectly whereas both Sabrina and Ana did. The Romanians deserved the medals in this case.

So that actually not how that works… Jordan difficulty score was not correct so that why it was accepted. Simone start value (difficulty) was a full point higher than anyone one else which allowed her to make mistakes. Ana technique in her flips in the air sucks as for Jordan it almost perfect…landing are not the only deduction

    • @ladyelainefairchild3546
      @ladyelainefairchild3546 2 месяца назад +7

You don’t understand gymnastics and how difficulty is factored in. Biles can afford to land on her butt and still win because her difficulty is so much higher so she has the cushion of error in points to step out of bounds. She actually gets cheated out of difficulty points sometimes because what she does is so dangerously difficult that they want to discourage other girls who are not up to that skill level from trying it because they could end up paralyzed or worse. They score Biles lower (meaning some of her moves should have a higher than the max difficulty they assign to it) because they don’t want another girl to try a move she can’t handle safely just because they know that it is difficult enough to give you enough points to medal without having to be perfect.

They appealed legally within their window during the session. NOT after the medal ceremony. That is legal and fair. It was determined that Jordan Chiles had in fact been shorted 0.1 points worth of difficulty. While it was disappointing for Romania, everything was legal and part of the sport. You can't retaliate after the fact with appeals for more points because you don't like a decision. Otherwise, they'd go back and forth forever.

My understanding is the judges made the initial error of not beginning with Chiles’s correct starting score, the degree of difficulty. They had left out an element that Chiles did, in fact, perform. (The tour jeté). The USA judge requested it be looked at and the judges saw their error. Coaches can appeal the starting degree of difficulty score. They can’t appeal how it was executed, that’s why Ana’s score didn’t change.
Scores are not final until all have been reviewed. And every coach can put in a request. Surely the girls are instructed in this? Even Andrade and Biles were not celebrating yet. The other teams knew to wait.
But I think it’s terrible the judges could be so careless as to begin with incorrect degree of difficulty score.
I understand they also marked another girl for going out of bounds when American broadcasting replayed it in slow motion to show that she hadn’t.
I think it was more incompetence than anything. This should not happen at the Olympics.

You banged your drum to get Jade her medal.

Ana got the credit she deserved for her routine and I think she can proudly say she is the 4th best female on floor in gymnastics in the world. If you look at the difficulty assigned to both Jordan and Ana you will see that Jordan has a slightly higher difficulty which means if she hits all her skills she will out score Ana every time they compete.

An additional piece of information maybe gone unnoticed. In the 2000 Olympics at Sydney Romania won all 3 prizes for floor gymnastics if I am not mistaken (it was surely gymnastics anyhow). Days later the gold medal was striped from Andreea Raducanu because some argued that she used drugs. Her physician has given her Nurofen Cold&Flu, a pill for when catching a cold. The pill was not forbidden then. AFTER the scandal it was forbidden. The podium changed with China coming on 3rd place. Nurofen is admitted again and since then NO country has ever had 3 gymnasts in a final. It's a kind of an unspoken rule to have at most 2. It could have been any other country, not just Romania. Now judge how fair is this choice and how it makes the final results objective.

In the floor final, the same routine was given a starting mark of 5.90 and she received a deduction of 0.10 claiming she stepped out of the carpet (the referees later said they have only cameras which film from above the carpet lines and it seemed she stepped out but if you look from the side you can see her heel was in the air not on the carpet line). Voinea's coach, her mother, asked for the mark to be reviewed but was denied so in reality her mark was not 13.700 but 13.900 giving her the bronze...

    3. The food cafeteria was lacking enough protein for the Olympian’s. They fixed the problem, but what about the Olympian’s that were counting on the proper nutrition at the beginning?
