But I like that though since a lot of Western viewers may know him more than the rest of the cast. So it gives the cast more of an opportunity to shine.
I like how this scene gets mirrored in the games itself. Like getting slapped when you lose becomes getting killed. Gi-hun forgetting about the cash and just wanting to to slap this guy back when he won is also sort of mirrored in the finale, since he didn't touch the money for a year and then at the end swore to end the games.
he doesn't touch the money because of his tremendous guilt, not because he forgot about it. during the games, none of their motivations change, til the very end it's always about winning the money. the character's only kill or win the games to get the money, not to kill or inflict pain on others, like you're suggesting
I like how you can tell that the recruiter loves to slap the people lime on 0:36 the way he stops to make Gi Hun flinch, he is happy with annoying people
Spoilers warning Was I the only one who predicted the Front Man to be the police guy’s brother I mean the old man got me but the Front man’s identity was pretty obvious to me
@@noro329 it depends at first I didn't know who it would be but as I knew the brother would be someone significant, and then when I saw that he had won the games before, it all just clicked into place
This character is so mysterious, just his smile is so smugged in a cool vllianous way, I remember in his last scene appearance on seeing Gi-Hun again and gave him that same smile was just down-straight chills.
Lee Jung Jae is such an incredible actor...he has such a control over his expressions and he has so much childlike, palpable excitement at having won at the end of the scene
I never thought that I would see gong yoo and lee Jung Jae in the same place at the same time in a cinematic production! Two a-listing industry heavyweights slapping the shit out of each other on the big screen! Priceless!
*What a lovely smile this guy has, just like a 10 year old kid* what a beautiful background music is, really, humans are so good at music,,,,, it touches your heart and brings smile on your face ☺
I badly wanna know where this guy vanishes...I also hope that in the next season there'd be more details about him. He is the one recruiting all the players & he continues to do that. He sees & smiles at the protagonist at the end. He is such a calm, composed & handsome guy. He is nowhere to be seen later on. After all, he is the only one in this game whose face is revealed & has connections with the real world.
In at least 1 or 2 months from now, there gonna be some in-depth psychological analysis on why he accepted continuing playing the game despite being slapped numerous times.
NGL, everytime that recorder song comes on I keep thinking it's gonna play Jingle Bells because of the first few notes. Also, this show is amazing! Can't wait for more eventually! :)
This scene and that music made me realize why we love betting and sports... it's because we never stopped playing those childhood games! We just made them more exciting ( less fun when you loose obv ) and it could be argued *spoiler* that the old geezer tried to make them as "fun" as possible!
Gi-hun gets his first taste of elite sickness. When the salesman wins, he doesn’t want Gi-hun’s money. He wants to slap him in the face. The elite doesn’t get pleasure out of more money, it gets pleasure out of sadistic thrills such as slapping the poor in the face over and over again. When Gi-hun finally wins a round, he can’t wait to slap the guy right back in the face. However, the salesman stops him and shows him the money. For a moment, Gi-hun did not care about the money, he got caught up in the sadistic thrills of the elite. This scene foreshadows what will happen to Gi-hun in the end.
In this movie, yeah. IRL it's the opposite. The elite love nothing more than making more money. It's literally the only thing they care about. Hurting poor people is a means, not an end, to them. Apathetic maybe but not sadistic. Sadistic people exist on every level of society, it's not a rich people thing.
Look at his thrill of finally winning to slap him back 😂 😂
One punch man
By than he puts money in his hand 😂
He’s a man of his word
He kept his pimp-hand strong.
He didn’t even think about the money, he just wanted to slap him so bad 😂
This dude hasn't aged a DAY since Train to Busan. What a freakin legend.
Gong Yoo is a vampire. he still looks young and handsome even he is now in his early 40s 😩😩🔥🔥🔥
its only been 5 years. You don't age too much in 5 years unless you're in your 50's
He is basically Keanu and Paul Rudd of Korea.

Wow
This was one of my favorite scenes from the whole series. The soundtrack and Gi-hun’s reaction to finally winning are perfect.
The soundtrack to Gi-Hun's victory is childish, uplifting and yet... sad. It combines all 3, which is brilliant.
It’s similar to the last episode when Gi Hun wins the squid game.
Yes i like too very symbolic scene
Seeing the smug smile after the humiliated expression is really funny. The other guy is really having fun.
If you love your job, you’ll never work a day of your life.
the fact that Gi Hun forgot about the money and just wanted to give that guy a tight slap cracks me up 😂
