The best live vocal harmony left from the old days. I wish them my heartfelt congratulations for their dedication to the music I have loved throughout my years and a very, very happy retirement.
I miss them and the Bee gees so much. The Byrds copied the Searchers style and its strange but on every album they made my favourite tracks were written by them, the best and favourite being "He's got no love", a number 11 or 12 hit in the UK charts in the mid 60s. Enjoy good health and your retirement and I will just keep playing your records forever.😊
Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you Though I know that evening's empire has returned into sand Vanished from my hand Left me blindly here to stand, but still not sleeping My weariness amazes me, I'm branded on my feet I have no one to meet And the ancient empty street's too dead for dreaming Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you Take me on a trip upon your magic swirling ship My senses have been stripped My hands can't feel to grip My toes too numb to step Wait only for my boot heels to be wandering I'm ready to go anywhere, I'm ready for to fade Into my own parade Cast your dancing spell my way, I promise to go under it Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you Though you might hear laughing, spinning, swinging madly across the sun It's not aimed at anyone It's just escaping on the run And but for the sky there are no fences facing And if you hear vague traces of skipping reels of rhyme To your tambourine in time It's just a ragged clown behind I wouldn't pay it any mind It's just a shadow you're seeing that he's chasing Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you And take me disappearing through the smoke rings of my mind Down the foggy ruins of time Far past the frozen leaves The haunted frightened trees Out to the windy beach Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky With one hand waving free Silhouetted by the sea Circled by the circus sands With all memory and fate Driven deep beneath the waves Let me forget about today until tomorrow Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you
i REQUEST to the Searchers manager some years ago to include Mr Tambourine man in the program so they listen to me and is the best song.....I ask for TURN-TURN-TURN to do the same but they said was to much to many Byrds songs ..so I singing my self look my videos....
In my opinion ,I'm 75 now but I think they were by far the best group to come out of Liverpool,no disrespect to Frank Allen who if you read his book is a bit full of himself ,but in my opinion it was unforgivable what they did to Tony Jackson who I thought was one of the best of the Searchers, Chris Curtis ought to of examined his own stage presence and skill as a drummer before criticising Tony who went on to die ignominously
I still prefer the original line up. But I do agree with you. I have been watching some of their videos, especially observing Chris. I been playing drums off n on most of my life. He's ok, but could have been better.
A lot of people think the Searchers were copying the Byrds - in reality, the Byrds were so impressed by the Searchers that they based their sound on them! Don't believe me? Ask Roger McGuinn!
Ha! The Byrds wanted to sound like the Searchers 12 string sound when they started . Used Rickenbackers and were disappointed when they didn't sound like the Burns the Searchers used . Good version.
I've played the song with my oldie band in germany in the version of the byrds so far ... but now we'll do the seachers version with the great vocals in the verse ... beautiful
Excellent version of one of my fave 1960s songs...always have loved groups who can Harmonise!! Only minor complaint is that their version is played slightly faster than the original...however do love the "guitar sound"...Great!!
This is certainly very good and the Searchers sing it better live than the Byrds ever did. Although the Byrds recorded version cannot be beaten. They gave the Searchers credit for their Jangly Rickenbacker Guitar sound, but ironically, the Searchers didn't use Rickenbacker for years but used double tracked six string on many recordings. Burns Guitars of London started making 12 strings, so the Searchers used that for a while. In fact they entered into a deal with Burns to provide them with Lead, Rhythm and Bass guitars.
The Searchers used the 12 string from When Yiou Walk in the Room in 64 and onwards. Not Rickies, but Burns and later Aria that use the general string arrangement. Rickie us ‘upside down’. High up, low down. Check out What have the done to the rain 64, He’s got no love 65 and so on.. jangled them on album tracks too. Needles was 2 sixes linked for the effect..
You cannot compare The Byrds to the Searchers ! A world class act who's influence was enormous and with a combination of Gene Clark , David Crosby and Roger McGuinn , ( check those names out !! )a vocal blend that the Searchers can only dream of. The Byrds were in the forefront of folk rock, psychedelia and country rock . a huge influence on numerous musicians , the Searchers were a good Uk act of their time and thats it , no more or less , but the Byrds vocal blend was on a different stratosphere.
i REQUEST to the Searchers manager some years ago to include Mr Tambourine man in the program so they listen to me and is the best song.....I ask for TURN-TURN-TURN to do the same but they said was to much to many Byrds songs ..so I singing my self look my videos....
Impressive what autotune can do to professional musicians voices althoug they are in their 80’ ties. Helps a lot they have been playing their hit songs, two shows a night 200 gigs a year, since 1957. Thats the sound of supertalented musicians reheasing for 64 years in a row. Noone of the halfnaked touring models of today, playing their artificial tech computed muzak, can compete with that, and woulnt be remembered in 5 years from now. .
I think Mike had had enough of playing in dingey, smoky night clubs and there hadn't been any hit records for ages. Read his book.... 'The Search For Myself'!
Erm !!!!. Am I missing something here? I was always under the impression that the original version was written and recorded by some guy called Bob Dylan
Same here Charles... and after Eddie left the band the drumming was awful with a too-heavy foot banging continuously on that bass drum ruining the performances!
Something definitely not right with McNally's playing and what is coming out of the speakers, definitely major enhancements via the soundman and Davis's electronics.

Douglas Spence you did write “better than the original” did you not? This version may arguably be better than McGuinn’s current offerings, but its nowhere close to the original.
Wow..... fabulous sound. I love The Beatles, and this band is AMAZING. !!!!!!!!!!!!
Have liked the Searchers from the early 1960s, Great band with down to earth fellas, unique 60s sound.
Never stopped liking the Searchers, 60 years ago when a young lad up to present day great band.
I never knew this band covered this song. Really great performance!
The best live vocal harmony left from the old days. I wish them my heartfelt congratulations for their dedication to the music I have loved throughout my years and a very, very happy retirement.
Searchers and Byrds. my favorite '60's groups.
The Searchers still always be The Searchers the sound of their voices and the sound the guitars still the same.❤️🎼❤️
This is the best version of Mr. Tambourine Man I've heard yet.
Long live the searchers they were great away back and still are great
Amazing song and fantastic group !
The Searchers are still great musicians and singers even late in their careers. Professional and timeless high quality and talented performers.
Pura verdade música inesquecível bons tempos
Always loved this band; a great, united sound, full of talent!
thank you boys for the music over the years, you will be missed, I can remember the great time we had going to your gigs.
nice cover - great harmonies, you can tell they had spent some time singing together
Fantastic musicians and singers…..👍🏴🎸

Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to
Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you
Though I know that evening's empire has returned into sand
Vanished from my hand
Left me blindly here to stand, but still not sleeping
My weariness amazes me, I'm branded on my feet
I have no one to meet
And the ancient empty street's too dead for dreaming
Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to
Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you
Take me on a trip upon your magic swirling ship
My senses have been stripped
My hands can't feel to grip
My toes too numb to step
Wait only for my boot heels to be wandering
I'm ready to go anywhere, I'm ready for to fade
Into my own parade
Cast your dancing spell my way, I promise to go under it
Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to
Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you
Though you might hear laughing, spinning, swinging madly across the sun
It's not aimed at anyone
It's just escaping on the run
And but for the sky there are no fences facing
And if you hear vague traces of skipping reels of rhyme
To your tambourine in time
It's just a ragged clown behind
I wouldn't pay it any mind
It's just a shadow you're seeing that he's chasing
Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to
Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you
And take me disappearing through the smoke rings of my mind
Down the foggy ruins of time
Far past the frozen leaves
The haunted frightened trees
Out to the windy beach
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky
With one hand waving free
Silhouetted by the sea
Circled by the circus sands
With all memory and fate
Driven deep beneath the waves
Let me forget about today until tomorrow
Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to
Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you
mmm somehow i dont think this version will have the full lyrics of the Bob Dylan classic
Wonderful, John ✌️
Great version of a Dylan classic
oldy but goldy ! amazing performance ! :-))
A really great version.

Seen them at the Majestic in Newcastle in the 60's,brilliant music by a wonderful group.
Ha! The Byrds wanted to sound like the Searchers 12 string sound when they started . Used Rickenbackers and were disappointed when they didn't sound like the Burns the Searchers used . Good version.

I love the Searchers, but as a music man myself and a drummer, this won't cut the cake next to The byrds version.
Makes sense they cover this as The Byrds owe much of their early sound to The Searchers.
Arte musicale pura canzone di un secolo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
How amazing is this??????

No they don’t sing it better than the Byrds did live! Jesus

Jingle jangle music. Yippee.
Good song
What year was this, any idea?
This is a good sound. But John and Mike ought to be singing together. Never did hear how THAT split came about.
I think Mike had had enough of playing in dingey, smoky night clubs and there hadn't been any hit records for ages. Read his book.... 'The Search For Myself'!
❤️
5-13-2022 I recognize the bassist, the others, no.
Could someone please give a left to right, naming each member? Th.
Yes, a left to right naming of each member would be appreciated. Who is the bassist?
Not as good as the Byrds but i like it non the less . A masterpiece will always shine through .
JOHN IS 76 YEARS OLD.
78 now but he retired last year
Erm !!!!. Am I missing something here? I was always under the impression that the original version was written and recorded by some guy called Bob Dylan
You are not wrong bro this song original is Bob Dylan's song..
Yes he wrote it, and remember what his words were on first hearing the Byrds version.
Yay! You can dance to that!
Bob who?
Golden years
😊😊😊
Look at the crowd. They're all older folks.
The bassplayer is not live! Somebody else is playing bass! Check it out…
Great😊!
Hate that electronic pop in the bass drum, it was absent in the old days making the song less harsh.
Same here Charles... and after Eddie left the band the drumming was awful with a too-heavy foot banging continuously on that bass drum ruining the performances!
I'm listening on studio monitors and the mix sounds good to me !
The snare sounds horrible to me.
Very nice, but still like Byrds version bettter.
1
Spencer James awesome leadsinger🧡
Something definitely not right with McNally's playing and what is coming out of the speakers, definitely major enhancements via the soundman and Davis's electronics.
Almost as good as the original by the Byrds!
Byrds are not the original of this song but BOB DYLAN yes the Byrds make the song deferent like the searchers ...
Written and originally sung by Bob Dylan.
this is my version of MR TAMBOURINE MAN ruclips.net/video/0MXD6Rol3sg/видео.html
Frank Allen is not playing! Look at is right hand..
THE Searchers? Hardly, just a cover band!!
NO-- THE ORIGINAL IS BOB DYLAN
Bob Dylan is the original tambarinman Billy boy stoke on trent let's get it right
BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL BY THE BYRDS -- METHINKS
Don't you EVER say that again.....
HAVE YOU LISTENED TO McGUINN AND Co RECENTLY - - TRYING TO SING THIS ? - THE MAGIC HAS GONE !!
i REQUEST to the Searchers manager some years ago to include Mr Tambourine man in the program so they listen to me and is the best song.....I ask for TURN-TURN-TURN to do the same but they said was to much to many Byrds songs ..so I singing my self look my videos....
Douglas Spence you did write “better than the original” did you not? This version may arguably be better than McGuinn’s current offerings, but its nowhere close to the original.
Hi it is a matter of Opinion every one have his on Opinion..My opinion is this,Even Gin Clark was better than Mcguinn...
A geriatic meeting

Brilliant!
