It’s interesting how in the off-season people were touting his processing, ability to read defenses, pocket presence, and gets the ball out fast. Now all of a sudden the opposite is being brought up
it was discussed, some of us were screaming it from the mountain tops. we were mocked and met with vitriol and distain. After playing Football for 15 years and watching it for 40 years when I watched every snap that Caleb took throughout college it was pretty obvious this is exactly what we were getting.
@LXS-ud6yf holding on to the ball, always playing hero ball, looking for the flashy play and anything that could improve upon his image and brand, lack of acknowledgment towards his teammates for his success, inaccuracy on throws over 15 yards, is an inability to rise the Great Moments. Refusal to stay in a clean pocket and make an easy pass. Temper tantrums, lack of work ethic, inability to win against teams with winning records. All the stuff the people at USC and the community there were saying. It's all there if you get out of the Chicago sports bubble
Caleb looks just like Johnny Football in his first year. Go see film it's uncanny how that "creative" running around with a 5 second pass rush looks the same between these two guys. Football-wise, they're the same. Great in college, total freaking dud in the NFL. Yeah Caleb had one good game against a trash team but so did Manziel. Bears just picked the wrong QB. AGAIN. Caleb should be traded while there are so many deluded fanboys who still think he's "Generational". That is, before he injures himself trying to be in the NFL - just like ol Johnny Football. 100% draft BUST
Just another example of Nick Wright, not knowing how to evaluate quarterbacks. Just look at his history. And I’m sorry no one gets credit for Patrick Mahomes.
It is absolutely crazy how many excuses this guy gets. I swear 5 years from now he’s still going to be playing like garbage and people will be blazoning the offensive line. First off his oline is not playing bad. Jalen hurts is getting pressured more and that is a good o line. Caleb just holds on to the ball and that is why he gets sacked. He’s got weapons for receivers and his defense is great. If Caleb was just playing sub par and not terrible like he is playing the Bears would have a winning record. This team has kept him in so many games when he’s throwing for like 50 yards. He’s playing poorly and people are acting like the Bears have failed him. It looks like the team has kind of gave up now, but those first 8 games he was put in great situations to win, much better than most number 1 overall qb picks get.
No one can argue with that logic my friend. I hate making definitive statements but the trajectory look really bad. Something very weird is happening in Chicago, and 1 thing is certain. Within the next 3 games, the answer will be clear to everyone. Some fans need to be hit over the head with bad news a few more times for the general population to see things clear. Jayden Daniels was better in college last year compared to Williams. This ownership is beyond awful, which does play a big part, but this is the NFL. He is supposed to be smart enough to know to get the damn ball out of your hands, scramble, throw it away, something. It's looking rough.
Not a Shane Walrodun issue at ALL? Com’on now. I’d argue that for sure if I was sitting down with him and going over the film. Vs the Patriots then ran smash like every other play and calling an empty sprint left with maybe a throwback when the backside tackle doesn’t hinge? That is not a Caleb thing.
@ yea I heard Matt say 90% as well. Maybe I’m taking the word ALL to literally but, I’d say 80-85% on Caleb. I think a lot what has to do with it is that he has been given soo much freedom with making checks, kills, and even fast tempo. Vs NE and other games he was constantly changing calls and what seemed like to be doing too much pre snap. I bet that that Thomas Brown has way more hi lo reads and much shorter concepts. Even see his drop much more tighter, rather than him 1 hop/skip and hitch
@ yea I’m predicting a messy offseason and obviously a lot of questions. New HC and most likely brand new staff. If you get the right guy it can get turned around very quickly
Not only do the bears not develop qbs but they straight up kill any confidence and hope these qbs have. Benching caleb definitely best move. Take care of the guy and let him watch the back up get eaten
Absolutely, it's way beyond just development issues. The head coach of the chicago bears has had to fire six of his own coaching staff in the last 18 months. Two of which were fired for human resources violations. One of those 2 we're accused of Crimes I don't even wanna mention. Google it.
When we fail to plan we plan to fail. The chicago bears had no idea what to do with this number one draft pick. No excuses for the quarterback, But this organization has compound failures. The likes no organization in the league has accomplished. Repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
Oh, come on let’s stop with this kid stuff. He Williams was a multimillionaire in college. He’s not a kid. He’s a grown man. This is the only realm in the entire world where we still consider guys in their early 20s kids lol get real dude. Why don’t.
Consider Carl Williams, Calebs father bought a company that trains pro athletes. Caleb started training before High school. Question is how long do you hang with Caleb as he hurts the team with his play. This is one on the reasons why pro Justin Fields Chicagoans wanted to keep Fields and let Caleb set for a year.
I totally agree with this. He needs to develop behind a vet. Look at Green Bay. They've done it for decades. In order to change this team. We need to find stability starting from the top. Next find a Head coach that commands a locker room and gain player's trust. And a coaching staff that can develop players for years to come. I get it, there's too much pressure for our team to win now. And is as fans are tired of losing but we need time for this to happen and make a dynasty of our team.
There were NO conversations about some players wanting Caleb to ride the bench, the main culprit to that source was Tyson Bagent's DAD. Lol. And the stupid ass media ran with it because they are starving for shock value and drama. It gets them clicks. Sure, Caleb can play better, he played his 9th game of his career. Can we give him more time just like we have Mitch and Justin? My goodness!

And everyone and their momma needs to help him out with everything under the sun...but he's generational. Okay, yeah right.

I didn't see any of his college games. What did you observe that augured what we see now?

Start Bagent ASAP!!
They were just shocked that they kept losing games without knowing that the team only won against a crappy team.

Who's is going to develop Caleb on the Bears . There is no leadership .

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it

Yeah it will be fascinating to see if he can turn this thing around this season. Otherwise this offseason will be a mess for them.

I wonder if they can get a good HC. Bears fans think they will get Ben Johnson. And I’m 100% confident he wants nothing to do with the bears.
