I started with a 7.75 and slowly moved up after I got my balance and flick control. That was almost a year I'm 38 and now skate an andy anderson shape that's 8.4 and I'm glad I started small.
@@nemo2875 that’s so dope! Have you ever tried a different size? And I feel skaters will always judge a board size, it’s not a big deal people love to hate I swear lol I love 7.75. I’m riding 8.5 now though!
Well ironically i started on an 8.25 then i went up to an 8.38 then fully sized down to an 8.0. And im really loving it. Been skating it for about 3 months. Im debating if i should size down to a 7.75 or just keep with my 8.0
I ride 838 and I found that I really like it. I had a sesh with a 775 board last year and it wasn’t bad at all. I heard wheelbase matters a lot for flip tricks. When you start sizing up try to find 14” wb it might help. I think most 825s will have a 14.25 wb nowadays so it might be harder to find
Nice!! I’ve rode a 8.38 before i really liked the comfort in it, but I just have trouble flipping bigger boards and yeah I feel the same way about the wheelbase, I have 52mm wheels on the 7.75. Do you think I should get 50mm?
@@onichama9279 na man I’d say ur 52s are perfect for what you’re practicing. Get those tricks down because it all comes down to technique for the most part
I hope it works for you, and remember this advice, if it an’t broke, don’t fix it. Tommy Sandoval said it on the nine club. He been riding the same set up for a while.
I moved up from 7.75 to 8.25 and I just feel...SAFE from any bails and mishaps. On a sidenote, its hard to pinpoint where your chill vibe comes from since you're a weeaboo skater. Is it the surfer/boarder culture or the otaku culture, I guess we'll never know.
775 gang
Aayyyyy!!!
7,75 here too. You also should try slimmer wills, as they reduce the lateral rotational mass and helps flipping too.
Ayyy! Hell yeah I love to hear that!

I’ve been riding a 7.75 since the 90’s when it was considered a big board. And I roll 59mm wheels, so much hate on one setup.

Yee haha
The timing is different too
Yeah it super responsive!
I’ve just gone back to a 7.8, from an 8. I’ve gone from venture low raw 5.25 to 5.0. Lighter, easier to flip. Way better
Hell yeah! That’s a nice set up very similar to mine!!
Subcribed toyour channel sir skate safe sir. Hope to skate with you someday when I get my own set up hehe
Thank you bros!!
Like if you've been riding 7.75 the whole time
