So in spite of hunt showdown having record high amount of problems. This video was done in order to explain why I simply don't play the game. I can get the constructive criticism of people acting like shills for the game. But let's be honest here. I don't quite understand this comment. This is one of your more viewed videos in a while, so I would say it runs counter to your statement that hunt is 'dying'. There has been a good faith effort to engage with the content and provide you with feedback. If you just put all of that under the umbrella of 'people shilling for the game' I guess you're not interested in improving.
@@tomsmith7265 You act as if making more videos describing more issues for the simple fact that Crytek is somehow not responsible for selling a product. Everyone bought Hunt Showdown in expectation that the game would be in at least decent working condition. It's also incredibly easy to grind out videos for Hunt because of the mass amount of changes with problems that constantly occur with each update. I understand the logic of chasing the grind for views. But even if I'd made an hour or hell 2 hours long of a full on review for Hunt Showdown after the engine update and adding 1896 to the title. Which doesn't make a new game either, that in itself was a really pointless change. It's also incredibly stupid that I'm getting staked burned despite the fact that the game is consistently losing its own identity and player base. I'm not saying you are necessarily wrong, or that you're not entitled to your opinion - but this was not a great video to support your opinion. And it's going to be a bit of a wall of text, but only because I feel like it could've been an interesting video. I will try to be constructive. You claim the game is massively losing player count. Looking at steam charts, it's not. There was a peak for 1886 after which is settles back to normal numbers, then a smaller peak for murder circus, and it's starting to settle now. You claim the game is 'completely broken' and a 'bug filled mess' but you provide exactly 0 examples of the bugs you are talking about. You ask 'what is hunt trying to be' but you don't explain what you understood hunt to be, how you feel it's deviating from that, and why that is a bad thing. You just state 'there was a direction' and they are 'adding stuff' instead of 'focusing on what they have' You mention the example of the revive bolts, but you don't state why you dislike it. I mean, I can imagine why you might dislike it, but I would prefer to hear it from you in the video, with some examples. The UI section, something I very much agree with you on, is also missing any kind of details - you mention you have a 'video' to showcase how terrible it is, but it's just you scrolling up and down twice on the tool menu.. and a comparison that even Tarkov is better, but I don't play Tarkov.. You even state, when speaking about the UI, that a 'good example' of the improvements you would like to see is them implementing 'quality of life changes' whilst 'simultaneously adding improvements to the game'. This is of course not an example of improvements at all.. At least mention a quality of life change you feel they should've added and provide some examples of improvements you feel match closer to the 'direction' you feel hunt should be taking. I would've focused on showing how you are forced to use keyboard shortcuts to be able to navigate without clicking 8 times, and then showcase how between the different menu screens the keyboard shortcuts actually change as an example of unacceptable UX. It's odd timing for me, I think the murder circus event is one of the better ones in recent history. I like bounty clash as a game mode. The Revive bolts weren't as overpowered as I thought. I like the new event traits. I like the addition of subsonic ammo and the newer weapons. But I also understand how these changes seem to be Hunt trying to move more towards an 'action' orientated gamestyle, where things move faster and there's less stalemates (something they actually said in their dev updates). So it feels like it's moving more towards a call of duty style, which I don't play for a reason. I think that might be your problem with the game now, which is fair - but this video doesn't support or deny that feeling I have. Best of luck on your future videos amigo
I've been enjoying Hunt more and more with the past updates since the engine upgrade, both in terms of the new content and the playability. And I wanted to comment on the video, but you've already done a good job stating everything I would have. The only bug/issue that affected me was the mouse-cursor appearing in-game, and yeah it was legitimately negatively impacting my fun, but it has not appeared since they've patched it out. I only have about ~250 hours in the game since 2022 but my experience has almost been the exact opposite of this video's creator.
When talking about issues such as UI and bugs, you should provide examples and display them in the video. It would make the viewer more connected to the video. In the end I didn't understand what bugs and UX elements exactly ruined the game for you. I personally believe the game is doing fine according to the steam charts. The fanbase is very commited to this game and so the numbers seldom change.
Do investors pull the strings ? Because that would make a lot of sense. The recovery shot, and rev bolt is what's bothered me most. Along with the failure to fix bugs when they continue to add new things and sell new skins.
My only real complaint is that I'm stuck in 5-6* lobbies after the engine upgrade. I used to be a 3* that OCCASIONALLY got a 4* rating, now I don't get a game with less than 50% 6* players. I definitely play better but it's kinda grueling just to get in a couple wins on any particular day. And solo play is a no go for me anymore, mostly because while I like ambushes and being a bushwookie, I do NOT enjoy doing that for 20+ minutes. None of that has to do with gameplay or "direction" though, just matchmaking.
I'm 2 star solo always in with 3 4 or 5 stars. When play with my son a 4 star it's against st 4 5 stars. Not fun either way unless you have friends to play as trios. Which I dont
Stop feeling like a puss and go on to learn man, stop being a bush wookie and go seek 1v3, rush inside building, die, die, die but learn, nobody cares about your mmr or KD man, play and get better, you’ll « deserve » (as it seems to be the feeling for you in tour comment) that 6 star mmr. You can do it man 👍 maybe you’re the next Rachtaz. You’ll get better by seeking bad situations and fights, it is inevitable 😅
@@Ian-lm5ep Yeah, that definitely shouldn't happen :( It's neither fun nor fair... for anyone. I used to think SBMM systems were a good idea, after 3 years of experiencing them in a wide genre variety, I'm exclusively against them in any form.
This is your reminder that David Fifield used to work at Raven Software for Call of Duty: Online up until like 2015, the game immediately started going downhill the moment they signed him on as whatever the hell they gave him for a title. Also Crytek's insistence on using Leaseweb's awful servers hampers their ability to retain any players, since Leaseweb has literally been the worst server provider in mainstream gaming; to put it into perspective that Black Desert Online, a Korean MMORPG, stopped using LW in the first two months of launch because the servers were that bad.
You're right. I feel the same. For instance, they had multiple options to fix the UI, but Craptek picked the worst possible way. They just changed it and did not fix any underlying issues like dead tech (Action Script that makes it impossible to hire adequate specialists to work with it), century-old bugs, and absurdly punishing usability. And this is just a UI...
This game is fine. It's doing great and the new event is super fun and I don't even like clowns. This dude is just sad cuz he's reminiscing on memories of a game not the actual game
i like your first point, i bought hunt last week with a friend and those were our EXACT observations, comparing it to tarkov and saying how shit the ui is.
@@Royinszki I play the game since the Beta, and with EVERY major patch or event you got lots of players claiming the game is now "ruined" or "dead". Somehow the community still grows & the game gets bettter - but still people keep crying. Always has been this way, always will. Hunt community isnt as toxic as many others, but there are alot of crybabies.
Dude I 100% agree with you man, the last two updates added in too many things that I think just don't belong. (Rev bolts, recovery shots, more spam weapons) hunt is pushing me back to eft.
@@josephstalin7668 who cares most of the players have left the game. The event player base is pathetic. It's like 10k online 6PM-12AM on Fri-Sun during the event. Less than 6k without. It used to be 20k+.
Not going to post a lot since a lot of people already brought up a lot of good points. I'll just add that while the UI isn't perfect...after they patched it it's very functional. I can kit out a hunter without using loadouts in about 30 seconds. Personally I prefer the new UI but that's just my opinion.
I loved Hunt back before the update, but honestly with bullet drop, the team necro changes for teams making it harder and less enjoyable to play with friends and glitchy servers, there’s so much I want reverted about this game that I’ve completely stopped. I would buy every battle pass to support its direction before this, but now, unless crytek completely backtracks I’m out 🏃♂️
I literally have 1-2 new bugs every single day. We can't connect to the server all together with friends every fifth game, and the the gun skins can't be saved for any of my friends. The network and the UI are absolute dogshit, wanna puke every time I finish the game and get the mission summary 3 times in my face.
Sadly i agree. I have played since the beginning, almost 2000h at this point and i just lost hope after they failed to fix the ui and all the new bugs. Its not one big thing, its a thousand small ones. The gameplay is just a shadow of its former self. I think cryrek means well with many changes but they have listened to the wrong feedback and changed too much of the game. PS. Dualies is the worst and i hope people who use it step on a lego
For me the UI is reason no. 1 why I don't play anymore. I almost cannot believe, that they didn't make it that horrible on purpose. I mean, how hard can it be to make changes and fix many obvious issues and bugs, they persisted for months. Some got fixed in the last patch but most of them remain. I still came back to see what they did in the current event, but after I didn't finish my last two battle passes because I didn't enjoy the game anymore, I will not buy another one.
the only thing i don't like is being stuck with stuck with 6 star lobbies and getting curb stomped even with my new 3 star buddies. i never drop in mmr and he just grew tired of getting stomped. i still enjoy the game... despite it's issues and UI. i'll still play it over tarkov, i do not have the time to invest into it.
3k hrs: i dont mind the new ui even it has a lot of seensless screens and most of the bugs are not gamebreaking. i mind playing against sus players from totally different regions all the time
I have been playing Hunt for over 4 years with 1300 hours. While i do get the sentiment and my patience with crytek wears thin as well more than it used to. The "game is dying" narrative is not substantiated by the data. Back when i first started the game regularly had player counts in the 4 digit range and being a morning time gamer you couldnt find anyone in US East servers. Now the player counts are regularly hovering around the 15 to 20k range during down moments and shooting up during events. Sure the game doesnt pull COD numbers of players, but it never was going to
100% agree, i loved this game so much during the 2018-2022 era. It was so cool but now they are keeping making weird things that don't belong to hunt imo (spamm weapons, explosives and specials ammos on everything)
I used to love hunt showdown and play it often. I was excited for this update until I saw the latest UI. Back then some months ago I have since quit playing hunt showdown, the UI is ass. Anyone I spoke to agrees and no one asked for it
I told all my friends and promised myslef as soon as they started adding anything from my world. Like people or celebrities i was done. And i said i would tolerate necro when it came out but nothing else like it. Never again will i play
I haven't played since the clown show down event and I finally played today. I feel kinda dirty now. My squad mates keep tryna get me to play but they are new and don't know how much better it was.
@rawnukles yea man won't be getting back in think i had a little over 1000 hours played since release and it's not even the same thing anymore. If the game never changed to 1896 I think I would have played it forever
The main thing that ruined the game was them making it feel like a pc game, It got floaty movement and aim. No one on console likes that feel. The new map was awful, i don't know why you'd make people play one map for months without making sure people like it first. Just a lot of bad ego driven decisions.
I understand the frustration but you don't raise any concrete points just vague complaints about the bugs. The game is worse because the devs tried to upgrade the game to renew interest but so little of the original dev team remains and its so limited the game is built upon layers of spaghetti code. The update was rushed because they were desperate to increase the playerbase and their dev cycle is so slow it needed another year to cook but companies pressure their devs to rush things out without proper testing. Most live service games are a rushed sloppy mess these days, like Tarkov, Sea of Thieves, etc. They just pump out new content to retain interest. I honestly expected the game to be even worse on launch knowing their history. It'll improve eventually but we're about 3 dev teams of separation from the original vision of the game. Mechanically the game is in a good state, its just the performance and audio that are absolutely fucked. They'll iron out most of the glitches in time but I don't think they have the time or talent to ever unfuck the audio. At least you're not trying to peddle a false narrative like many nostalgic amnesiac "veterans" who claim the game is becoming more spammy, the game used to be a lot more spammy before the Dolch, Avto, C&K, Bornheim, Winfield, Officer, etc. got nerfed. Every year the game has been quite different with varied flaws but as long as wallbangs and audio work most of the time its still the same Hunt we've always known and loved.
Anyone that stopped playing hunt because of the new UI (which is not good, but not that horrible) is just a crybaby. If beeing troubled by the UI and not beeing able to adapt to it, is a bigger issue than gameplay itself then, imo, you're not having the right mindset for games. and no, old Hunt's UI was not even close to "perfectly fine".
Anyone who doesn't want to eat oranges is just a crybaby. If beeing troubled by the taste and not beeing able to adapt to it, is a bigger issue than enjoyment of fruity flavours itself then, imo, you're not having the right mindset for food. I would say, if you don't enjoy eating an orange, then don't eat the orange. People who tell you, you are a crybaby because you don't like oranges.. well, you better ignore them. I think you have the difficulties in understanding where people come from.
Sad this is, if you check steamdb charts the player base is slowly but steadly going up despite the stupid Crytek decisions... Guess they try to bring more casual ppl into the game whom were never a target player for this game.

The wall hack power needs to be nerfed to 50 meters vs 150 That’s all
alot of complaining, alot of nagging, not alot of explenation nor substantiation. U are ranting about crytek ruining everything without giving a single example of what ruins the experience for you. I agree to a certain degree: the UI is atrocious and like every game, it has its bugs. However, the dev team is actually trying to produce new content in the form of maps, events, new AI, new weapons, traits and so on. They are very transparent on what they are working on for the future and how they will suffice. U are just blatantly talking about them ruining everything and making everything worse. I have to say: if ur only seeing the negative side of Hunt, maybe stop playing or get a lil positive.
I don’t know, man. I’ve spent a lot of time on Hunt as well. I’ve been playing it for 5 years, and it’s one of the best games ever. Yes, the new UI is ugly af, I'm with you here. I wish they would revert it, but that won’t happen, so I’ve accepted it and moved on. The UI is minor for me. Crashes, disconnects, and few other bugs right after the engine upgrade were bad, and I understand why people were pissed. Those were the things that made the game truly unplayable back then - not the bad UI, the spear, new solo necro, dum-dum ammo, or other subjective stuff. If your game crashes, there’s no excuse for that. I think Crytek has addressed most of the critical issues by now. I don't remeber when was the last disconnect I experienced. As for the game’s direction, I can’t agree with your points. 2024 has been a good year for Hunt. A new map, new bosses, and good events with interesting mechanics, new game mode which rocks - I didn’t expect to enjoy most of the new guns they added, but I did. I’m quite conservative and usually stick to the Winfield or long ammo rifles in 5-6* lobbies. However, Crytek managed to make me try almost everything they added this year, and I think that’s a good sign. They’re really trying to find a good niche for every new rifle they add, despite the dozens of existing ones. Not seeing anything positive at all puts you on the haters' side. But that’s okay - everyone has their own opinion. What is sad, that some people are so emotional that they go and downvote the game whenever they can. It's bad, it's unplayable, Crytek ruined it all... When in reality Hunt is very much playable. As long as the game doesn't disconnect you, and you land those juicy headshot, it is playable. Moreover, reditors cries were heard, and Centeniel Dum Dum has gone. Rip. Piece.
I tried playing this game, but after 15 hours i couldn't get used to the needlessly off center crosshair and it triggered the fuck out of my OCD. Cool concept, unfortunately not the game for me. No idea why this game is now recommended to me tho. But algorithm gonna algorithm
mald cope seethe etc I still have fun and can enjoy the game. the UI is an acquired taste. imagine being livid because they didn't test every edge case on every gpu 😂 plenty of other games for you to play, quit milking this dead screaming horse "I'm a loss for words" might be the most helpful thing you said. you just keep saying it's broken buggy and glitchy without showing any of them
i have been playing since beta 2017, its hilarious as the moment Fifiled joined the dev team this game went straight to Call of duty fast lane :D.. this game tries to be so fucking mainstream its losing the unique identity :D
Complaining about the UI now is irrelevant, it works perfectly fine now that we are used to it. It literally takes 10 seconds from the end of a game to make my stuff for my new hunter and be ready for the next game. It’s not even a problem anymore, go with it. Bugs are in all multiplayer video games, even solo games (Hi Bethesda, hi Ubisoft) and it is hard to keep a small community multiplayer game alive when you have so much to do as a small team so ofc they have to sell DLC and battle pass to survive with what the Video Game market is today. This video is just a kid crying cause time passes. Sad man, leave Hunt if tou cant bear change, sad tho… The game is not ruined, it is in its best state since it launched actually 😅 Launch a multiplayer game on your own and see how it goes man… Embrace reality instead of crying without giving solutions man. To end this comment, if early players are leaving the game, it’s not because of what it is today for the most part but because, they want to play something else than hunt after all these years 😂 Aight stay safe and stop crying on the internet man, ✌️
Okay I get the UI, you were used to one UI and then they changed it and you don't know anything again but I get the change because the previous UI was hideous, now it at least has the games style. Also the UI looks to be made to be console compatible so PC players might have a harder time going through it. Bugs and glitches? What bugs and glitches? I haven't played the game that long but thus far I haven't encountered a game breaking bug. You were talking about bugs and how they make more bugs with new updates for 1 minute and 36 seconds and haven't named one bug. Again talking about updates that ruin the game but you don't name any updates or changes that ruined the game for you. And the concept of the game seems perfectly fine to me, I have no idea what you're talking about. Like I don't really have a problem with the video and people are entitled to have their own opinions but the thing is, that you haven't really addressed any issues with the game just said why you don't like to play it anymore.

THIS is polite and constructive criticism. I was about to say pretty much all of the same things but you nailed it.
I don’t play hunt anymore due to the new patch but I 100% agree with your feedback to his video. He did not articulate himself well.
This comment was better thought out than the video
@@Crow_Mauler_The video reads like any of the reddit posts. The creator of the video adding "shill" in this pinned comment is just icing on the cake
@@Ian-lm5ep Yeah, that definitely shouldn't happen :(
It's neither fun nor fair...
Play on PS5 without any issues. This game is not completely ruined
I just started playing on gamepass about 2 weeks ago. I love it.
I'm new and i don't get why he says it's impossible to navigate the UI
@Royinszki yeah the UI is easy for me honestly.
Numbers are going up. The UI is okay now after some tweaking.
Dude I 100% agree with you man, the last two updates added in too many things that I think just don't belong. (Rev bolts, recovery shots, more spam weapons) hunt is pushing me back to eft.

What direction they want? Its easy. Make it western cod selling mtx and battle passes with trash colaborations.
the only thing i don't like is being stuck with stuck with 6 star lobbies and getting curb stomped even with my new 3 star buddies. i never drop in mmr and he just grew tired of getting stomped. i still enjoy the game... despite it's issues and UI. i'll still play it over tarkov, i do not have the time to invest into it.
Sure the game doesnt pull COD numbers of players, but it never was going to
i missed old hunt showdown alot of good players i was fighting with is insane
feel the same...
Cry me a river man
I understand the frustration but you don't raise any concrete points just vague complaints about the bugs.
Guess they try to bring more casual ppl into the game whom were never a target player for this game.

alot of complaining, alot of nagging, not alot of explenation nor substantiation.
Wasn't the old UI a bunch of grey boxes? I think this one is much better looks wise and actually stylistically fits with the game.
bro chill, drink some water
Rip.
Piece.

Crybaby video, no valid criticism at all.
We are just gonna keep enjoying the game more with less crybaby players around. 😂
What a rubbish video. Basically not happy with the UI. 😂
The biases in the comments shows. Rubbish? Check player count. I played for free thru gamepass, 3 games in I’m against prestige 10s? That tells me there’s not many players playing. You’re a minority defending this game.

@@KazyaKurosawa not about filling servers, it’s who you’re against. What prestige are you? You’re probably one of the day of players who’s been playing religiously. The average person isn’t you.
