This man really put is life on the Drums and know them so good.. even if i saw a faster or more fasinating drummers (and i dont see) ian`s understanding of the drums so high and nobody can take that from him. i a RUclips Drummer and i make a lot of Drum video and this man is of course my inspiration.
Amazing guy,drummer...his work with Purple back in the 70’....those solo’s,superfast singles...one of the greatest rock drummers of all times for sure.No doubt.
Ian definitely kills it. Nothing like hearing a musician that creates music that makes you feel it, and not just hear it. Who in the world cannot like his music????
+JustStayDown90 Lars Ulrich is literally the most overrated drummer I saw and I've seen hundreds. I saw him doing a drumsolo with metallica, year or three ago, I thought he was really bad in improvising, but later saw he did the same solo the whole tour, sounded like someone that plays two years of drums, seriously...
Awesome drumming. Is the 'Flam double' Ian talks about the same sticking as a Swiss army triplet? Even though Flam double makes me think of Flam taps...
They all had their pros and cons,Bonham had a wonderful drum tone that only he could coax out of the drums,it’s not a competition music and musicians, why do we treat the greats like football teams, they are all here to give us pleasure and inspiration, gees, the World is turning into a narcissist cesspot.
Thanks Ian!
i like Ian Paice and his drumming style... i have found though, that his drums always sound like all head strike and no shell sound...so basically no tone to his drums.... maybe it's just bad audio
+Mike O'Shea It may be bad audio but I think its the fact that he has no mufflers on his drums. A lot of drummers go that way( no mufflers) but myself I can always here a ring without them and I always pad my drums. You can make a cheap drumset sound like a million bucks just by padding them right. Well,to my ear anyhow.
beatlemania54 I always find the opposite. A pro set can be made to sound like a beginner kit by adding to much muffling the whole point of a good kit is to have the drums sound good without killing the tone with muffling. I have heard this kit live and it sounds truly phenomenal. The mic isn't picking up the full tone of the drums at all.
Rock and roll is not the music where terms like "best" fit well. Heavy rock or prog rock require certain type of drumming but you wouldn't expect the Jesus and Mary Chain to have employed the likes of Paice or Cozy Powell. The rhythm section of that band however is perfect for their genre. Put Ian Paice there and you'll have a disaster.
great drummer , one of the best of all time.
fantastic as always ... the kindest man in the world !!!
I was a drummer back in the 70's and Ian was my hero. First album I bought Deep Purple.
+Nicholas Powell ...as a dumb guitar player, Ian is my all time favorite player...maybe tied with Doyle Barnes

Very fine playing sir! I love your tracks with Purple. Thanks for giving us some tips on what you've used to get the really cool fills you use.
15 years older than Lars Ulrich, yet so remarkably better.
+JustStayDown90
you are amazingly right!
+JustStayDown90 Lars Ulrich is literally the most overrated drummer I saw and I've seen hundreds. some of those street drummers are way
past better than bonham
you 2 guys absolutely don't understand anything about drumming. Paice is a legendary drummer btw.
well , simon philips is similar.
They all had their pros and cons,Bonham had a wonderful drum tone that only he could coax out of the drums,it’s not a competition music and musicians, why do we treat the greats like football teams, they are all here to give us pleasure and inspiration, gees, the World is turning into a narcissist cesspot.
Is this guy Gilson Lavis' brother?
Пэйс это и есть DP. Он ни когда не уходил из группы.
What's the name of the song Ian mentions at 5:55 ?
Stefan Lindberg It's called Rosa's Cantina. I guess you've already found it by now! :D
Laur Fagadar Thank you! I kinda gave up trying to find what song it was.
Wooow Very good! Wunderful Drummer!
... 😎🎸🎤
what is the sticking he uses?
Pro Mark signature model
haha, no mate. I mean the sticking he uses in triplets, RLRK bla bla bla...
Guybrush Good I'm guessing he uses the inverted version of whatever a righty would use, for example instead of RLKRL, it would be LRKLR
Buddy rich - ian paice - John bonham
RF El Genio And Stewart Copeland and Carl Palmer
Yes Ian wow and also cozy Powell Steve Smith Neal peart
Hey Ian is a lefty like me :D
... He's IanPaice...
SOUTHPAW POWER!! ... 😊. “The Mule” off of Made In Japan, is a monster

Yeah lets start it really really simply... what?
i like Ian Paice and his drumming style... i have found though, that his drums always sound like all head strike and no shell sound...so basically no tone to his drums.... maybe it's just bad audio
+Mike O'Shea Bad audio here, he sounds very good live. Here, not so much

first
Ian can do no wrong Paice
i can not understand that anyone are playing the 2002 series. I think they sound absolutely awful. But i love the playing of Ian Paice anyway.
super ))) bravo , Drum solo from 6.21 exactly copy from Buddy Rich solo )))super
Made in Japan ! THE MULE

Great drummer! The afican rymt. was to fast it loses the groove.
That kit sounds like shit 😱
