Thank you SO much for sharing this!!! I wish that I could give James a hug again, I love him SO much!!! (big smile) God bless you and him and his Amy Katherine always!!! Holly in East Tennessee
I like this as much as the Jamey version. Nice job writting and performing James, you are a great addition to country music, a genre I didnt even like (for some dumb reason) just 3-4 years ago
I love Jamey Johnson's rendition but JAmes Otto blows that out of the water. Saw Otto do this live in Columbus, OH and it sent chills down my spine and brought tears to my eyes - seriously. The songwriter always does it better!
This song was wrote by 3 great guys...Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser and Jamey Johnson. Jamey cut this song without a label and took it to number one. The box of pictures that broke was pictures of James' grandfather.
@crittertube1 Actually, It was Whisperin' Bill Anderson telling Jamey about old stories in the Grand Ole Opry dressing room. He was telling Jamey, and Whisperin Bill said something to the effect of "If you think it looks cool here, you shoulda seen it in color."
It sounds good but I like Jamey Johnsons old country sound on this song. Jamey Johnson, James Otto, and Lee Miller all three wrote this song together. Great song.
James Otto and and Jamey Johnson are 2 of the greatest!! Awesome 👍👍
Great concert in Gilroy CA! He was amazing! Sang this song and had the crowd in tears. ..
I Have Huge GOOSE BUMPS, Thank you for posting this song!!♥♥♥

I like the blues sound James Otto's voice gives the song
last time I heard this song was a few weeks ago here in Orlando when James and Jamey sang it together

This song reminds me of grapa and my uncles and Dad Just great folks they grew up hard they never asked for a free lunch they earn it 10-4
Of coarse the "original" will always be the best, but You`ve gotta hand it to James Otto for doing a very good cover of it.
The man can SING!
does anyone have any clue what tuning he's using? He has to be tuned down, because his chord progression is not in standard tuning.
I have huge GOOSE BUMPS!!!♥♥♥

@ckwonpoker Trace also sang this song, orginally Trace was the planned singer but Jamey asked Trace if he could.
James Otto wrote this with Johnson
they both wrote it
they both did... and one other i believe
@WhiskeySteel
he's in standard. C, A#, F for the verse
Am, G, F for the break
yeah they both wrote it... but jameys voice makes this song
I have to say that I like James Otto's version better.. having heard them both sing them live.
Jamey johnson wrote this
I like James Otto but, this sounds like a bar band cover song after hearing Jamey Johnson sing the hell out of it.
no he didnt
james otto is better on this song 100%
thats a stretch...
what a juvenile comment
