I find ds remote play way better than wii splitscreen; As yes, splitscreen is nostalgic and all, with it's low res textures and the fact that you had your opponent right next to you, but i think i prefer one screen per user multiplayer
Agreed, New Super Mario Bros Wii was the first Mario platformer I played, but the first New Super Mario Bros will always be my favorite, especially because of my favorite power up: The Blue Shell!
wanted to post a correction/update after i finally bought myself a copy. you actually can change the controls using the same method from the first game and Mario Maker 3d but only from the main menu. there is an "options" button at the bottom of the screen. while im glad it doesnt railroad you unto an unintinuitive control scheme the way 3D Land does, this is still counterintuitive enough that i have beat the game through world 9 without discovering it.

The game looks fun and I want to play it, but I literally can't because I don't have the game, no device I own is powerful enough to decently emulate wii, snd I did hack my wii is hopes of being able to digitally install roms of the games, but the roms need to be a specific file type and there's no website that let's you download them and every video shoeing hoe to get them only shows hoe to do it if you hacked the consoles eith a USB stick, but I hacked mine with a SD card so it's impossible for me to play the game until I buy it
Fun fact: the NSMB2 overworld theme is basically an acapella version of the NSMBWii overworld theme, basically giving something for the Koopas to dance too
