With 6” to 10” inches of snow expected this afternoon Tip Toe makes me feel warm and fuzzy . Back when I was a kid my brothers and I had the turtle club. That was over fifty years ago. I own the family farm and I swear the same common mud turtles come out every year to lay eggs near the creek that passes through the farm. ❤U 🐢

You’ve got some pretty cool parents. Not only do they love and support you and this awesome creature… they’re proud of it. It’s easy to see. The frames on those paintings that you and your brother created, are not cheap. That’s the type of frame job that you have done on artwork that you cherish. Perhaps, you & TT could do something special for them. I’m certain they deserve it.

Plain Epson salts might help and I have a Russian tortoise and we use those to help her plants grow, it should be safe for tiptoe but I'd double check just to be safe
I dunno about the plant's requirements but I've been having success with foliar sprays. a little horticultural oil, a banana peel and some used coffee grounds, sit overnight, strain, add to a large quantity of water and then spray liberally. :)
the only non toxic flower that grows fast I know is mustard flowers, preferably an asian variety. you can plant a small lot and once they grow flowers, you can pinch the stalk of the flowers and it will regrow forever.

When I was in 4th grade in SF the teacher pulled down a map and showed us where Oregon and Washington were, said it was much colder there. Wouldn’t you know it, the next year we moved there. You can add tiptoe blessing in china rose flower pot . believe me . best will be cow dung . I don't know if you can procure . Regarding roses ,you can use fish water.if you are eating fish, the water you use for washing fish . Might be a little yaak .but it will work

How long has she been taking care of this tortoise? I know she got him when she was 7, but how old is she and Tiptoe now? Did she take care of him for all that time or was she unable to for periods of time like going to college and etc? I’m just fascinated by forming a bond with an animal that has the same lifespan as a human, it’s not very common, especially for most of both of their lives being together.
21 yrs ago. He was little and can live 80-120 years 🤔 was mentioned. When people ask ( alot) she plans to leave him with her kids! When they get cynical; I think, who wouldn't want Tip toe

We so rarely have a pet/friend that lives just as long as we do, and it’s interesting to think of the connection and bond we have for different species to last as long as it would another human being. Especially with having grown up together as adolescents, into adulthood, and then into old age.
A product you can get from any garden center called Miracle Grow is pretty amazing stuff for growing just about anything. Tiptoe’s “ presents “ could also work into a compost and tilled into your soil to help your plants grow for your hefty friend. Sounds gross, but ask gardeners and farmers what works best. @Wood Setton just a suggestion that was requested, I use horse manure on mine and it flower's abundantly it is planted in the ground so I just dig some in at the start of the growing season. I suggested a tea because the plant's look like they're in pot's. I watch all these video's. And while I can completely understand that it sounds disgusting making a tea from poop, I believe that it would make the plant's flourish. Tiptoe would loose his mind if he saw mine it's stunning throughout the entire season.

Just heard the sound of Tiptoe's shell bottoming out at beginning of video when Tiptoe first stepped into dry pool , was only wondering if pool steps down too deep , if so would be easy fix with couple bags cement to add couple inches so less drop down plus easier getting out of pool also...🐢🏖just wondering
Have y'all considered setting up a hot house greenhouse in your yard? With grow lights and minimal care it should produce well thru out the year... plus it might even produce some veggies as well thru out the year as well...

great great question. I am not really sure, we must have just not been thinking about it. The pool pump works pretty well + we water the plants in the yard with it so it semi works out but maybe one day we will add a pump!
I’ve got a great idea for a tip toe painting. Put some color on the heart shaped shell of his breast bone, and stamp it onto paper. That way it will be a loving part of him for all to have!

Would a small green house help with the flowers?
Have you used mirrors in the enclosure for TT. Also you can put grass in an open type ball and TT can eat it from there. Just a thought or two

Don't fertilize with chemicals. But you. can work the soil with natural compost.
