- This Throwback Thursday video looks back on the former Baltimore & Ohio Railroad's West End, the B&O's original mainline route from Baltimore to the Ohio Valley at Wheeling, West Virginia. The narrated slide show, with maps, contains scans of 35mm color slides I took with my colleague and friend, the late Harry Stegmaier, Jr. in 1995 and 1996 on day trips from our base in Frostburg, MD.
Thanks for these. These slides will be great for my 1940s era B&O layout as reference.
You’re welcome.
Great job Vagel!! It's too bad that Don Cassler is gone; he would have loved this too!!
Thanks, Bob! I miss Don.
It used to be that a Railroad brought settler's into town , And more and more people came and formed Towns , and Cities . Now railroads have been disappearing . I never thought I would see the day Railroads would be obsolete !
They’re not obsolete, just less visible as locomotive & signaling technology makes the old service facilities & towers unnecessary. But, yes, it’s sad.
Good job
Thank you
I from Grafton that good job
Thanks.
Can we buy this video
