This is incredible, I love it! It's not just how talented you are as a singer and guitarist, but working in all the parts to loop in one take - that is something else! Thanks for sharing this. I'll check out your other vids.
Fantastic.would you believe that i had never heard this song before until i watched a butlins filey video on here It may sound strange but i picture that week in 1965 when we went to Butlins Filey. I was 12 YO then now i'm 68 and can't forget that fantastic week.
Nice job! You were the only one (out of all the bass covers) to put in that little "roll" in there! But where were the "hand claps?".. lol.happy holidays!
Holy crap, this is 42 kinds of awesome! Not being a music guy, don't you have to essentially be your own arranger for all the parts? Can you describe the process it took you to get here (I know about the looper)?
Steve Friedl thanks so much! Not sure what you might want to know specifically so I’ll just throw a whole bunch at you. Even though the looper has a lot of features it’s still limiting in making a song sound exactly like the original with the different sections in the right order with the same backing and instruments. I just figure out what I can do and try to make it not too boring of a journey to get to a big sound with a lot of layers. In this song I have the percussion rhythms on one track, the verse parts on the second, the chorus on the third, and I just add to the chorus each time it happens. And just in general I’ve been playing ,using for a long time: trumpet since ‘95 and guitar on and off since ‘01. I started singing and playing a handful of years ago and picked up looping a little more recently.
Thank you Kyle! That's what I was wondering (about the looper). I was wondering how you were able to keep the rhythm track going as you switched over to a different loop to record the chorus. Now I know it's on a separate loop. Can you tell me what looper the vocals are on? Are they looped on a totally different unit, not on the guitar looper I'm guessing? If so, how does it link to the other loops. How many different loops in total do you end up with in this finished performance. Thanks for answering!
