Chase H.Q. II is an action-driving game developed by Taito. There 5 levels. Player must reach and stop criminal. You can choose one of 3 vehicles: Sports, 4wheel drive, semi truck - fastest, medium, strongest, respectively.
Chase H.Q. II, known as Super H.Q. (スーパーＨ.Ｑ.) in Japan, is a sequel to Chase H.Q. and was developed and published by Taito for the Sega Mega Drive in 1992. It should not be confused with Special Criminal Investigation, which was also sometimes marked as "Chase H.Q. II", nor the "official" 2007 arcade sequel, Chase H.Q. 2.
Gameplay is very similar to the first game, with the major difference being a choice of three vehicles to chase criminals. By ramming the criminal's car enough times the car will be stopped and the criminal will be arrested. All of this needs to be done within a strict time limit, and while avoiding other cars and obstacles.
Your mission is to track down, chase and apprehend the dangerous criminals. It's FASTER - explosive power sends you bulleting through various terrains - hold the line or plough the fields. It's TOUGHER - the criminals wield some heavy hardware - but so do you! You can shoot but you must dodge their flak... heavy gunfire, trucks unloading their cargo onto your bonnet... it's the meanest pursuit game to hit the micro screen! The extra features will leave you gasping for extended play - weather changes, bodyguard squads, grenade-lobbing bikers, gun-choppers... just play it! We dare you to stop!
Similar to Chase H.Q. in some ways: same gameplay, same number of stages, and same objective. If you haven't heard of this game before, you basically drive on a freeway trying to catch up with five criminals who have committed felonies, but time is against you. If you catch up with the criminal's vehicle, you can ram into it to do some damage. If you do enough damage, the car malfunctions and you arrest the suspect. You can also use up to three turbo boosters that comes equipped with the car if you are far behind the suspect.
However, what makes this game different is the fact that you can choose one of three vehicles to drive: a sports car, 4-wheel drive, and a semi truck, with each one of them having their advantages and disadvantages. For example, the truck may be slow in speed, but can do a massive amount of damage. The sports car, on the other hand, can perform at higher speeds, but has a poor attack efficiency. As well as passing cars, your task is made difficult by obstacles, such as barricades, on the freeway. Finally, some vehicles in the game will have someone shooting at you. And watch out for the helicopter that attempts to drop bombs on you.
There are three cars to choose from every mission.
The red sport car: Fast car with little damage or strength (knock down
easily)
The blue offroad car: Quite fast in speed and medium damage and medium strength
The yellow truck: Slow in speed with powerful damage and great strength
