I want to babble about how much I love your posts, but to get to the point: have a look for Elizabeth Blackadder cat prints. She did 4 prints for stamps for British postal service that I think you would like, if you can find some at a sale. Some years ago I was in London with my father and we went to a sale of paper treasures (can't remember where exactly, but an exhibition hall) and I had the luck to find copies of the prints used for the postage. As I tend to do, I've given away the large prints to people I love, but I still have a post-card size print on the dresser in my bedroom, which greets me every day. I was a US military brat, and lived just outside London for 3 years as a teenager, and yes, eternal London haunts me still. Much love from Kate
The story with the WWII stretchers was so unexpectedly amazing, it brought a bit of tears to my eyes for the courage of the WWII survivors. Thanks for sharing❤ And oh! I've got the same hooks and they do hold stuff rather well, without any need of the extra glue.
@@princessliz6201 Actually, I never tried peeling them off yet. Still using them. But I heard that they're easily peeled off with the help of the hair drier (not too hot, though) with no sticky residue left.
The WWII stretchers were most fascinating...I like that they have been repurposed..a fitting memorial to the brave people who lived through the horrors of the Blitz. Everything from the boot sale was fabulous, the snowflake especially!!
Wow, a Le Creuset mug for a pound is amazing. I also like the lamp base. I think your new Gucci socks would look nice with navy, and some other blue shades. Love the idea of challenging some of your friends to a car boot sale price max for all their purchases.
Hi Mr C - some great finds there! I have the hooks, I use them in my shower. Two hold a metal shower basket in place - I keep shower gel, shampoo/conditioner, and face scrub in the basket. They've held the basket in place for 3 years and haven't unstuck since. When first attaching them I had to clean the tiles and then after sticking them to the wall had to wait 24 hours before I hung the basket to them. I spotted a few perfume bottles/glass bottles and I collect them, so that's what I would have bought. See you on Sunday!
That Camera thingy looks amazing, no wires, nothing to run, great images, and no monthly fee, this the best iv heard of these type of products! looks really good! defo interested. great partnership Mr C. xx
The iron stretchers were made from railings in the first place and then were repurposed back for railings! Very WWII “Make do and mend” mentality. Brilliant British history!
The backstamp butterfly on your Emma Bridgewater mug means it was last year, a great bargain and actually worth more than the Le Creuset mug, both a bargain at £1!
Good afternoon Iwan fr Northern California. I love the cups and just knew you were going to get the star one, loved the socks and think they will look great with loafers, chinos, jeans, tan or navy trousers, nice shirt with casual sports jacket. Those clips are nice and score on the snowflakes light, and I love that lamp. Good buys. The kittens are just too adorable. Did I miss the final reveal if your kitchen? That bacon sandwich looked delish… English bacon is so much better than what we get in the states. Ohh I loved the stretcher story. So many life’s lost and sacrifices made my the Brits. My grandparents and mother lived through the Boeing of London/Ipswich.. my grandparents like so many others had all their iron fencing confiscated for the war effort, also food shortages, like many items taken for granted today . My mum is 97 and still lives in her own house, cooks all her meals and does all her own cleaning etc. strong strong. She once told me last year that it’s not easy living to be this age and thank God she can still do it and has a sound mind. Have a great week..❤❤
Thank you for showing us the fence made from old war-time stretchers. So interesting. I spotted the Emma Bridgewater mug, and the Christmas star, but nothing else that you found. Great bargains! Maybe I have mentioned this before, but when I worked in a charity shop lots of mugs were grimy/stained inside. I used to fill the mug with water and a quick squirt of Milton baby bottle steriliser, left for a while - it soon cleaned them up. I reckoned if it was safe for baby's bottles, it was safe for mugs (washed again afterwards.)
Some great bargains - not sure about paying £10 for a pair of socks, Gucci or not! But if it's made you happy and kept within your budget it's all good!
The Orange mug from Le Creuset sells for $24 in the USA. And that paint brush is a good brush I paint and am always buying brushes Purdy the best brushes ever. Good show on the $20 challenge.
Your car boot is way better than the tat I see at mine , the black and white planter with the bodies on ; was mint you should of brought it ; and the buzz light year , been wanting one of them for ages
I had heard about the metal stretchers before somewhere and thought that was a fantastic use for them. 25:00 I was hoping you bought that! I thought it would look great on your beautiful rooftop garden.
Definitely challenge everyone to do a £20 carboot spend. I guessed correctly when ut came to the lamp and the star mug. I thought you had some good bargains and although the Gucci songs were expensive for us ordinary folks they were still a bargain because anything Gucci is expensive. I would have bought the Babycham glass and I spotted a lovely cake stand. I use cake stands for all sorts of things and like to use them at Christmas with baubles piled on them and candles. I havent been to a carboot for a long time.
I also use those hooks for my bedroom curtains. They have similar on Amazon. My curtains are a bit too heavy for them, so I did have an incident, although a certain calico named Tessa looked a little guilty. 🐈
Thanks for pointing out the stretcher fence! had heard about them and looked for them but have never found any. Such an interesting bit of history. The socks look beautifully made. Your sleeping kitties are so sweet.
Hi Mr. C! Aww...always love seeing Pumpkin & Mittens snoozing. So cute. ❤ I'm glad you got a security system for your home. I actually find ours quite handy checking in on our front and backyards as well as the interior of our home when we're out. It just gives you peace of mind honestly. Great boot sale finds btw. My faves were the blue star mug and the Gucci socks. Thanks for taking us along as always. Much love from Fort Worth, Texas! 🤠🌺🌞
Hi Iwan, thank you for the video. Pumpkin and Mittens have beautiful markings🙏. I thought you would buy the wooden spoons. The Gucci socks look fab. Great haul. I think the budget challenge is a great idea. Take care Gale x
Hi good car boot finds lamp no water on shade a little baby powder on the shade and gently brush off Love the mug attic looks fabulous I have just lost one of my kats today 😢 still got my Pushka girl Love your style x
So important to set a budget for xmas gifts if you're giving gifts. Maybe set up with family to only buy from charity shops or independent shops. My Dad was 4 in WW2 and luckily found the air raid shelter in the garden as the windows of his home blew out!
I buy my socks from M&S. They are men’s ones & fit me really well. I cut the tips off & then turn them inside out, as I hate the feel of the seems touching my feet.
Another fantastic vlog, I purchased those stick on hooks from QVC some months back, balcony garden looks lovely with all the lights, I also love lights in my garden 😊 look forward to your next vlog 😊
The Stretchers made me think about my Grandad, who was brought out on a plank from the William pit disaster, here in W Cumbria, early 1900`s. Knew you'd buy the lampstand. ❤. x
Love watching your videos 😊. I spotted a few fall items at the car boot sale. A crock that could be used alone or with a few dried flowers or grasses , and some amber glass. I like to use natural items with just a few touches of fall branches, leaves, gourds and pumpkins. Placed on old stacked books.
I knew you'd pick the lamp 😀 bonus that it's Laura Ashley -bargain for £2 ! I always find if I go looking for something specific,I never find it ,but still come home with a load of things I never knew I needed .😉😂
Great vlog around the car boot! I guessed the lamp, the mugs and the star dec! As usual you got some great bargs there! Thanks for Vlog, have a great rest of the week x
👏👏👏I KNEW you would buy the white lamp! And - BINGO! It’s a Laura Ashley! I am pretty sure it is from the early 1980’s. What fun - thank you! 👍🙋♀️🥰🇺🇸‼️
Well I could have spent a fortune there, the Emma mug is my fave. We have the bee one. I’m looking forward to going to the car boot here in Cornwall on Sunday.
It was fun to guess what you might get…I guessed 2 items….the lamp & snowflake. I thought you would get that kitten bank. There were lots of good decor items! Love to see your kitties.
Every September we have a Braderie along Deal High Street here on the South Coast. We have just had a Brocante on Walmer Green. Always good for a mooch, even better when the weather is good 😂
Hi Iwan love having a nosey around the boot sale there were some great bits there, love the lamp & cups, I've those hooks I either got them from shein or temu don't put anything heavy on them or they won't stick I've window colour catchers on mine, have a great weekend lots of love 💞
Hiya Mr Carrington, great finds at car boot. Like that lamp you got. You could even panit it to give more colour. Thanks for sharing your day and take care.
Hey Iwan! Another cheeky midweek vid! Looking forward to seeing your kitchen reveal ( I noticed you minimised the breakfast long shots). Enjoyed the car boot. Cheers thanks a lot!
I love Japanese socks! Even Uniqlo are quite good. They do good colabs. But they have specialty sock shop which are really reasonable, just have a little difficulty finding my size (45 -size 11)!
I am in Florida Panhandle not in direct path. Need to watch something other than hurricane coverage😮. What is better than Mr. C car boot sale. I liked a small deep green bottle and a little red transferware creamer. The stretchers were interesting. I like the lamp and mugs. Again I have candle Envy!!! I predicted you would buy the big snowflake . Good bargains!
Love the snowflake dec. We have been looking after friends cats for the week. There are 6 of them and out of that we have only seen 2 a mother and kitten. The other 4 were totally invisible. We know they are there and well because the food went and the litter trays were full. Cats are wonderful !
Hi Iwan, enjoyed our trip round the carboot sale. I thought you would buy the lamp, Emma Bridgewater mug and the cluster light. I’m now used to your attractions 😂 Admittedly, there were a couple of things you didn’t buy so well done to keeping to your budget. Those Italian socks…what a find! They cost a fortune. 😊
I wondered what was in the Ugg bag - did you have a look? You got some bargains this week for sure. I saw an item about the fence stretchers on a London guide channel - maybe you watched the same one? It’s fascinating to learn about those kinds of things isn’t it. Love the EB mug.
I loved the large gold framed mirror at the market..I wonder how much it was ? and I would have bought the little hand paintd vintage looking unframed painting...just lovely. Good buys you made though... look forward to seeing more.
Usually spot on guessing what you buy, but not so sure on this occasion! Thought you'd buy some mugs, but thought you might get a shacket you were looking at! Great purchases! 🙂👍
Another great video. I just love all the bargains you get. I actually went Thrifting today, myself at a charity shop here in Montana and got some great deals.
Hi Iwan, good £20 spend, the mugs were my favourite, l love an EB mug, they were both a great price, Gucci socks very posh, lamp was nice and your Christmas light x
I guessed you would go for the lamp, and the mug I love Laura Ashley and Emma Bridgewater My Aunty had a sweet shop on Peckham High Street back in the 60s. I used to love staying with her all those yummy sweets My husband is from Croydon too He won't go to London anymore I really miss it So thank you for all your lovely vlogs
I love boot sales and went to a huge one yesterday. I got some great bargains so was very pleased. By the way I ordeted one of those rechargeable lamps from Amazon. Its perfect for where I need it. May order another. 😂 x
20 pounds well spent!! Your idea of a set budget challenge for others is a great idea!! You could also use limited categories etc!! Kate would enjoy that! The fencing just shows that we need to be recycling so much more than we do! Those stretchers were probably made from recycled metal anyway!! Another very enjoyable session!! Thank you!!!
I used to love looking round car boots but unfortunately my disability has put a 😊stop to that so I’ll just enjoy watching you thanks I feel like I’m there
Your car boot is so fantastic, so many great buys at fantastic prices. You get amazing things I spied lots of things I would buy. My local one in Chiswick is huge but full of expensive tired looking junk!
Hi Iwan..like you I’m after some German Christmas decorations preferably some glass Christmas trees I brought two last year in the John Lewis half price sale the look beautiful so I’d love a collection I’d also love to go to a nice German market somewhere cheap and cheerful preferably in Germany to have a bit of me time as I’m a full time carer for my hubby and his mum.
Hi Ewan, you coped very well with keeping your Carboot to £20. My favourite item that you bought was the Laura Ashley Lamp. Very chic. Would love to see you challenge yourself again to spend £10 at a Carbost sale.
I hate hate cheap paint brushes, one day one of my work colleagues also a neighbour went into Dealzs and came back with about 4 paint brushes she really thought there was nothing wrong with them when the boss asked why on earth would you buy them from there. anyway about a week later she called myself and another neighbour we were gardening, into look at her wonderful painting the whole living room walls were covered in hairs from the brushes you could see every brush stroke, now she is a good painter but what she also learned that day was that she need glasses 😅. Wow £3 thats the bargain of the year
Hi Great Video. Watching you in the past crafting and upcycling and doing amazing things, just wondered if you could make your own Christmas scene in a bottle. At Hobbycraft in Bath where I live they had bags of little polystyrene white balls for 50p to use as snow (just looking for inspiration now). Loved the old cat carriers, maybe could have bought them, took the doors off, put a blanket in and used them as Pumpkin and Mittens beds xx
I love the car boot I went on Sunday because I had a day off and I couldn’t believe it because where I live. The person was here before cut out the TV aerial so I couldn’t get no reception for my TV so I saw one of these portable aerials that you can use caravan indoor outdoor aerial. They cost about £40-£20 on eBay on Amazon and I got it for a pound and it is amazing it works I’m watching the tower the film is it where I live and it’s brilliant so you can get good stuff at Campbelltown I’ve Gotta elf on shelf. 20p course I did get some biscuits and crisps brilliant can’t beat a good car enjoyed it. Good stuff you got specially the lamp 🪔
Hello Mr Carrington. So I noticed on amazon one camera was £79.99 but 2 were £199. Better to buy 2 single and save £39.99. That's if I read it right!!
Yes! There’s currently a reduction on the single camera so definitely worth doing that if you need a couple! Thanks for letting me know.

Lovely haul! Two other things that I expected to fall in your basket were the kitten backpack and white shelf brackets.
Good finds, Ewan. We have the same security cameras set up at our home here in Jamaica. I can vouch for how good it is.

£10 will be tough 😭😅
Really envious about the candles £1 for a whole pack ❤
I hate hate cheap paint brushes,
one day one of my work colleagues also a neighbour went into Dealzs and came back with about 4 paint brushes she really thought there was nothing wrong with them when the boss asked why on earth would you buy them from there.
anyway about a week later she called myself and another neighbour we were gardening, into look at her wonderful painting the whole living room walls were covered in hairs from the brushes you could see every brush stroke, now she is a good painter but what she also learned that day was that she need glasses 😅.
Wow £3 thats the bargain of the year
Mr..C. really thought you would have picked up those wonderful flower pots. They were a little on the large size, probably to heavy. Thanks, always fun!
So heavy, I think they would be too much for the roof garden sadly ❤️
Great fines. The mugs were my fav. Love the car boot sales. Wish we had those here in Canada. 😊🇨🇦
Some great finds, I was willing you to buy the Tom Kitten tin for your kitchen shelves.
I was so tempted 😍
Hi Great Video. Watching you in the past crafting and upcycling and doing amazing things, just wondered if you could make your own Christmas scene in a bottle. At Hobbycraft in Bath where I live they had bags of little polystyrene white balls for 50p to use as snow (just looking for inspiration now). Loved the old cat carriers, maybe could have bought them, took the doors off, put a blanket in and used them as Pumpkin and Mittens beds xx
Love the carboot sale videos Mr.C , loved the star mug and those yankee candles .I was thinking you were going to get that shacket ❤
That plant pot ! did it have what i think on it 🫣
Oh Iwan, my parents had some Babycham glasses, a nice memory.
I haven't been to a car boot sale in sooo long, but seeing this has made me want to go 😊
How brilliant using the stretchers as fencing. My mum and Dad were kids in WWII and they told me so many stories as a kid. Loved your challenge ❤❤❤
