I too think outerwear doesn’t go in and out of style as drastically as other pieces do. Partly because of the cost as you mentioned but also just for practical reasons. It amused me when puffer jackets were having their moment because I currently live in Canada and a puffer jacket is just a winter staple every year, whether or not it’s trendy. It’s warm and waterproof so it’s a must especially here in bc.
I *love* how you include reference pictures of people with all sizes and gender for every trend you mention ! Breaks out of the "is it a fit or is she just skinny" zone, and it's relieving ! Thank you so much for your content Katie.
I’m sorry I don’t believe in that skinny fashion shit if the shit is ugly it’s ugly y’all just have low self esteem honestly ain’t no such thing skinny fashion
In a country where you have to decide between melting to death or risking skin cancer - none of the options are possible for a heavy sweater like me. But you look awesome, always bringing your personal touch to every 'trend'. 🤩
I pretty sure the reason there’s so many ways to go with all the trends because people are actually trying to find themselves and their personal style and trends are just Adding on to the way people wear clothes !
idk what the internet thinks but they all look really cute on you so i like them!! i your layered looks so much they're just so fun the beanie + the headphones? Iconic
I loved these looks! My favorite was the one with the green shorts. As for microtrends that could be restyled, I'm thinking of maybe neon green clothes, or cottage core floral dresses!
The more the years pass, i truly believe that anything can be a trend now and also ten years in the future... So i just wear usually simple clothing most of the time, but it's nice to get the creative juices flowing with vintage/trifted clothing, plus, is good for the planet❤️ I really enjoyed your take on all the trends❤️
i loved this video and i would love to see the video you mentioned doing at the end about restyling micro-trends!!! personally i still wear stuff that is "out of style" but i just reincorporate it into different outfits and people always seem to think it looks good (obviously i do too!!!!) its sad to see how many trend cycles we go through in just a short amount of time! not everyone can afford to rebuy a whole new wardrobe to fit whats in for the week 😭 id be interested to see what you do with that though! my faves r probs the baggy shorts and the velvety witch! i think those looks will never go out of style :D
The whimsy goth look is my fave 🖤 the trend I am stuck with is a pair of mum jeans that do not look good on me whatsoever. Especially cause everyone seems to style them with crop tops, which aren’t my comfort zone…We should stop making denim fits trendy/not trendy and acknowledge that different body types suit different silhouettes!
my trend i want to stop is crop tops. i can literally NEVER find a cute top that’s not a crop top and it’s exhausting with my mom because she is so against crop tops, i can never buy anything even showing 1/2 a centimeter of my stomach. it’s terrible. she yelled at me in the middle of walmart over it and the shirt i wanted wasn’t even CROPPED! she said it’s “unwanted attention” and “old men will look at you in ways you don’t want them to.” girl its my organ? old men are attracted to an ORGAN??
I was in a similar situation with my mom jeans, because I'm not a fan of crop tops either. but it helped me looking at how people styled them in the late 80s early 90s and using those silhouettes with modern clothes. I dunno something to try before getting rid of your jeans. But I agree, shape and silhouette shouldn't be a trend 😅
I'm a person that's not skinny so I always felt really repelled by the idea of crop tops bc I was self-conscious about my belly showing but recently I decided to step out of my comfort zone so I bought one, it's so so so cute especially with high-waisted stuff (which personally I already own a lot of). That being said I think maybe you should try body suits or tucking in your longer tops, that looks really nice with mom jeans!
As Fanny said, I definitely think tucking in your shirts is the perfect thing to try! I used to think that was too "nerd in a teen movie," but it's super cute and still helps to highlight your waist like crop tops do. But, that being said, there's still other trendy jean cuts that you might like. I swore by skinny jeans until I found a flare cut and you will not catch me in another pair of pants because I love them so much. I feel like they may be going out of trend too, though, it does really suck that trends always seem to flatter one body type.
It’d be cool to see you try the really really oversized, baggy style with the large t shirts and parachute trousers. I think its quite popular in Asian fashion but idk what its called. I love the outfits in this video too!!!
even the "trendy" outerwear pieces don't go out of style as quickly as other things, like the puff jackets that were super popular a few years ago, those have always been around and they've always looked cute for the winter, regardless of whats trending. they're also great for the cold.
i love the continual use of the previous fits and pieces, it’s a nice change from completely different outfits and reminds us that you can cross and combine trends and styles
the “rockstar girlfriend” clothing style had me in a chokehold. I’m not all for the whole aesthetic, but the clothing style is 😘. i saw it for the first time a few months ago and I fell in love.
i adore all these trends tbh and would 100000% wear them when they die out. especially the shorts, its so convenient when u have strict parents and the glimsy goth thing is so perfect for people who r goth-y but also hippie and r torn
I'm obsessed with that striped scarf. every time I see it I get excited haha. it reminds me of something Clementine would wear in Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind
Omg Thank you for showing the track jacket trend! I just picked one up at an MCM sale and was trying times figure out how to style it other then street style! The feminine touches the Japanese girls gave it is sooo good!!
I rlly love star shaped motifs!! Shirts or accessories who can pull it off are so cute in my eyes.I love star and heart motifs I don’t think ill drop this anytime hehe
Love watching your videos! You're one of the few people who I feel always creates outfits I take away from. I'm 32 now so try not to dress too young (I know age doesn't matter) but just saying the fact I love your outfits despite not necessarily seeing myself in them. They're so cohesive, thought out and with eye pleasing balance.
you knocked it out of the park with all of these looks! I particularly love the witchy one at the end and also the racer jacket with white dress option works so well too. I find it does do well to try and keep the rest of your outfit simple when you have a pretty loud statement piece such as that jacket
I LOVE longer shorts! I’ve always worn them since I was little because I’m not really comfortable in super short shorts, and I’m soooo happy they’ve been in style recently because other people are discovering how comfy and fun they are! They are especially great in a mom Jean style because you can tuck in a shirt!
I LOVE the idea of making a video about recycling micro trends. I don’t buy a lot of trendy clothes as I buy all of mine second hand… which makes a difference when it comes to making sure I’m buying something because I actually like it. But this is something I was thinking about the other day. Because I do still buy some things bc they were “cool” at some point - even if it’s 4 years after the trend and I’m thrifting - and I don’t always know how to style them or really even understand how they go in my wardrobe (sometimes they don’t).
microtrends of a bygone era that i would love to see you style (because they're cool or useful): balaclavas, selkie style empire cut dresses and tops, flare yoga pants aka knit pants
Your editing is killing it lately! I cannot imagine how long taking outfit photos and editing them into the video takes you, just know it is greatly appreciated for bringing your looks to life 🤍
I had no clue you were going through winter right now, that is so freaking fascinating!! here its summertime ⭐ also have been so happy to watch all your recent videos 😌🧡
been wanting to dress up grungy and fem, this whimsy goth is such a cute look for the weather in my place also kudos for adding more different body shapes on inspo. i always feel discouraged on trends like these because im not that skinny. "is it a fit or is she just skinny"
offtopic but the way i gasped when i saw pentagon's love or take in the background as a fan of them😄 my rule: if it has funky, colorful patterns i love it. that's it. trendy or not, i am gonna wear it.
Can't believe I'm typing this, but I really love your look for the long shorts! I was so sceptical about this whole trend, but you most definitely made it work - very inspirational and a good reminder for me to overcome my prejudices & give a trend a try first!
If you replace the black pants in the first look with a long a-line skirt, it would be really cool. There were so many lines happening in the outfit that turning the V of your legs into a triangle helps the eye to just focus on the accessories.
It may be just me but I believe the biggest trend this year (especially summer) was the mediterranean girl aesthetic. I've seen it literally everywhere
So true about the vintage scene being pretty quiet in Bris. I really like to shop at Arkive Vintage or search through op shops in the outer suburbs because at least they’re cheaper than the inner city op shops haha
Omg you can't believe how thankful I am right now for this Video. I'm super sick and in a lot of pain in the moment and I am so happy to see a new video from you right, to distract right now :)
2022 fashion style is weird.. It's so extravagant, looks like what a cartoon would wear exactly.. Growing up to a minimalistic fashion to Tiktok sweeping up with these huge prints and colourful outfits which was once regarded ugly makes fashion trend a really bizarre topic
please style denim jackets from the early to mid 2010s 😭 edit: i just realized that it’s not really a microtrend and it was a staple in people’s basic wardrobes so for microtrends i’d say cow print, crewneck sweatshirts with plaid skirts, and 2020 brandy melville (tank tops with bows, mini pencil skirts, etc)
ive been wanting to get a motor jacket or a racer jacket for so so long but I'm so picky and haven't found that was perfect or comfortable enough but your jacket is so nice I love it so much

I honestly think she could've done better. It's still 99% skinny people
