    Richard I was under the impression you could just pop the lenses out of the roof unit and just replace with led bulbs. Yes or No.😎

      If you can manage to get the lenses off without damage you should be able to replace the bulbs with LED's. Thank you so much for commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

    Hi Richard. Enjoy your video. Any chance you know if 2012 Sonata SE can have LED HEADLIGHTS can be installed? The OEM headlights are very dull. Any suggestions on this? Thanks

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  7 лет назад +1

      I have not done it as I no longer own the car but I have heard that the LED's for headlights are not that great. Here is a good discussion on all of this www.hyundai-forums.com/yf-2011-sonata-i45/146145-led-headlights-2011-sonata-3.html Thanks.

    Did you have problems with the interior lights staying on dim when on auto turn on mode(door turn on)? if so how did you fix it?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  10 лет назад

      They are very dimly lit in the DOOR selection on position but they don't bother me at all. You can always use of the off setting on the selector switch to turn them totally off. Understand that the original lights were using the same amount of power when they were set to the same mode but did not show any light because they are not as efficient. These lights use much less power than the originals when they are dimly lit so I don't worry about them. Again if it bothers you just switch them to the off position. Thanks

    Excellent tutorial! After installations, did u encounter led flickering issues?

    • @richardlloydusa

      No, my LED's were solid performers. I did not have any flickering issues. It sounds like you have a defective unit. Did you use my links?

    you do know the light above the rear view mirror doesn't require all that work? the Lens come off just like the rest of the interior light. pry open from the center section.

  • @brianwestmeyer9082
    @brianwestmeyer9082 6 лет назад +1

    I've seen where you can pop the lens off the assembly... Using the pry bar you've got, pry from the side of the lens that is closest to the center of the assembly. Can you verify this?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  6 лет назад +1

      I have seen people do it but I would never try it as there is a chance you will break it and it's just not worth it to me. Thanks.

      Brian Westmeyer you can pop the lens off its MUCH easier and quicker... I usually use the corner of a plastic card to avoid any scratching

    just bought a 2012 sonata, subscribed!
    BTW do you have any tire recommendations for this car? the kumho's that came with it suck

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  9 лет назад +2

      dsouzand I am using the Achilles Sport 2 225/45ZR18 XL (95W) but I bought the car used and never experienced the Kumho's it came with so I can't tell you how they compare. I can tell you I am happy with the Achilles so far they have been very good to me. Here is a video I did on them ruclips.net/video/NHvX_oePAgI/видео.html and here are all my vids on the Sonata 2.0T ruclips.net/p/PLnxXRLSlmSVOzAAWI72TisPeEQ2YJOr-V I am sure they will come in handy for you. Why do they look purple if you ordered the white led's? Or is it the black interior that gives it that effect?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  8 лет назад +1

      I think it's a combination of the interior colour, the camera and the lights. To the eye they were a cool white colour. Thanks

  • @GBraidi78
    @GBraidi78 8 лет назад

    My 2015 Sonata Limited comes with LED interior lights except the mirror thing I don't know what's called! I am thinking of putting LED's there and in the trunk also!

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  8 лет назад +1

      +GBraidi78 The mirrors are called vanity mirrors and the lights are vanity lights. The LED's are so much better than the OEM lights in both places. In the trunk the LEDs are much better than the originals and make finding things in the trunk much easier. Thanks.

    Hi Richard, I have to say that your videos are beyond helpful! cars has never been my strength but I have learnt so much by watching your tutorials. Tomorrow I am going to get a few bulbs but also change/flush the antifreeze.
    One quick question, do you reckon it is really necessary for me to get the Hyundai coolant or I could get something very decent from a shop here in the UK called halfords (gereral chain)
    Take care
    Bruno

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  9 лет назад

      +Bruno Nguyen You are welcome. I would only use the Hyundai coolant. It may cost more but it is formulated for the engine specifically so it will not give you any trouble. They suggest that you mix it 50/50 with distilled water. I did not show that on the video as the dealer told me it was premixed when it was not. So I used 100% coolant but that did not have any effect on performance or durability. Make sure you use distilled water as it is mineral free. If you live in a very cold environment I would adjust the mixture accordingly. There is a chart on the side of the bottle to guide you. Thanks again and best of luck.

    I have a question. I have a 2015 Hyundai Sonata se. I just tried to change my lights in the vanity but I had trouble getting it in there. They sparked and now all of my interior lights don't work so I'm assuming it's the fuse? I need help with that question and also is there easier way for me to replace the dome lights?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  8 лет назад +1

      +DeMarcus Morrow You most likely shorted the positive to ground which is the roof of the car. You will have to change the fuse. I don't own a 2015 and that model was updated from the 2011-14 year so it is different too. Thanks.

    Have you ever thought of doing the led replacement for the low and high beam headlights?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  8 лет назад +1

      I have considered it but I am concerned about being legal and having it be reliable. My wife drives the car and I would not want the headlights to fail on her in the middle nowhere. Thanks.

    • @HySyde94
      @HySyde94 8 лет назад +1

      +Richard Lloyd Well i know in my area the lows are legal. And the leds nowadays are more reliable than a halogen. Look into and get a good reliable brand name. Then put up a video!

    Amazon is warning me that these leds don't fit my 2013 Hyundai Sonata SE. Is Amazon mistaken or are the interior lights different for the 2013 model?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  8 лет назад +1

      I can't confirm for sure if they will fit as I don't own a 2013 but all that matters is that they fit. Take out your current bulbs and measure their length to insure they are correct. After you verify that they are the right size or within a 1/4 inch 3mm of the original they will fit. Thanks.

  • @CheoCascara
    @CheoCascara 8 лет назад

    are these sizes the same for the 2015 sonata?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  8 лет назад +1

      I do not have access to a 2015 Sonata to confirm this but you do. Take a look at yours and measure them with a ruler. You don't have to be exactly right but within a few mm's or a 1/4 inch will do. Thanks.

    I have a 2013 Sonata Limited with the sunroof...everything worked until I went to disassemble the the tab part...the tabs are different and I wasn't sure whether / how to pull the wiring harness to the sunroof off....they couldn't just make it simple like the license and trunk lights.

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  9 лет назад +1

      I don't have a sunroof and unfortunately I don't own 2013 SE so I can't be of much help. Be very gentle and careful in anything you do with them. Thanks.

  • @rong6890

    there is a much easier way , all you have to do is pop off the lens and the bulbs right there , to remove lens just put a butter knife in the center of lens closer to center of car and pop off ,

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  8 лет назад +2

      +RON G There is a chance if you do it the way you suggest that you can scratch, crack or damage the lens or housing. With my method that is not a possibility but to each their own. If you wish to take a chance, that's your choice. Thanks.
