These bikes have gone deep into the 10's with 131 jugs, ported heads and a moderately aggressive cam. 150whp/150wtrq. If you're willing to give up some of the low-rpm snap, I'd bet with just a set of aggressive cams, 2-1 pipe and a dyno tune, you could still go 10's. It's never going to be a crotch rocket (doesn't have the RPM's for that), but a 10 second torque monster is a grin machine on the street. Y'all should ride one before trashing them, the M8's are a riot to ride on the street.
Decent for a stock harley. My 103 tein cam does around 90/110 with woods 222 cams. Im sure a cam would boost this m8 close to 100/120 Which is very nice.
@@MrJuanlmartinez big displacement long stroke but still they could achieve much more torque and power down low if they want to cos it have less than 100 nm from 1 liter dosplacement 👌🏻
Wow!! 91 at the wheel is decent, and most important, 115 ft lbs at the wheel!! Monster torque!! I just do not think the M8 or really any newer Harley motor is as good as the EVO 1340.
for making power it sure is... the heads are designed for way more flow. As for reliability only time will tell but many have over 60k on their M8's now without issues

Looks like it matches what Harley published for the 117

This is great to see! Big numbers for a Softail, much less a very restricted engine.
Not bad for a stock unit! Pretty impressive Harley Davidson. I hope this trend continues.👍👍👍
Thanks for this. Any guess or dyno runs with only cat free slip on exhaust. Curious how they impact hp and torque numbers.
can you put a Nightster 975 on the dyno when you guys get a chance?! It would be really nice to see @ the wheel numbers on this newer sportster
Perfect power figures, sweeeeet
Not bad, for the street it’s perfect. With some pipes that flow, a Tune, a Cam perhaps you can get real close to 100+

Those Yamaha numbers are taken at the crank or put out by the manufacturer I’m guessing, since the dyno examples online are about 10-15% less.
