I wanted a black SG so I found a grote used at thrift store,then I found another on market place a silver tone,both of these black SGs needed a ton of work, pickup upgrades, pots hardware,then I ordered a black chibson Angus Young SG with lightening bolt inlays, the chibson came the closest to the feel of a real gibby in my hands,and literally smoked the other budget SG guitars,in quality build, looks and most importantly it didn't need any work, playable right out of the box,$226 delivered to my door from aliexpress, pickups are some of the best sounding of the 3 SGs ,grote has Epiphone dot pickups which are almost as good as the chibby, the silvertone has a set of firefly pickups out of a LP elite, and the chibsons Korean made humbuckers still sound the best, I got tried of ordering budget guitars that just don't feel like the guitar I really want , right after I ordered a chibson cherry burst standard LP and was surprised,it beat out my IYV LPs the green and an ocean blue,3 fireflys LPs including the elite,if your looking for a Gibson guitar, but know you won't ever be able to afford one, you owe it to yourself to get a chibson, it's like test driving the real deal,l call them my stunt double, and I won't have to worry if they get trashed at a gig.
