Thanks Danny, I'm new to your channel and as a Honda Civic owner myself I appreciate what you are doing. Although I stopped being a mechanic a while ago, working on my own car and doing things on my own with a guilding hand really helps.
i gave my daughter a 2007 civic same color as yours and it had weird glitch ac worked when it was just warm out but as it got really hot it would just blow hot air the compressor would not come on I watched a ton of videos and it was just a spacer washer on the clutch had to be removed we took off the clutch cleaned up rust on back of it with wire wheel pulled out a thin spacer behind clutch put it back on and it has run great for years now.
Sorry for the confusion, the code at the beginning was just to show where to start your diagnostic process, the proper way to recharge the ac system is to evacuate and recycle and charge, since I suspected it was low, the metric was to add a bit of Freon until the temperature quit dropping and the pressure stayed around 40psi, too much Freon and low pressure will start rising and so will the outlet vent temperature, it’s a balancing act
Im waiting for to do a video on how to replace the spacer on the AC clutch. Mine works when it's cool but doesn't work when it's hot. The Launch tool looks good. I have a Foxwell but i like the big screen you have.
we did that to 2007 civic just pulled off passenger tire and small corner of wheel liner then took off bolt of compressor with impact gun so you don't have to try and hold clutch still remove clutch and pully can stay there with belt on it you just fish out a spacer washer from opening where clutch shaft goes in cleaned up back of clutch for smooth contact surface and put it back on washer was only few thousandths thick but it worked fine ever since then
Hey Danny really loved your videos they really help me a lot on my 8th gen. My concern is not related to the video but hope you could shed some light. Two weeks ago had my transmission fully rebuilt (AT). Not sure if it happened after but I just noticed today that it won't shift into 5th gear. There was also one time that the "D" was blinking (I turned off engine and after started it again the blinking was gone). What could cause it? As did mentioned transmission was just fully rebuilt. All o-rings etc was replaced.
Hey I have a question I have the same car and my AC was bad and wasn’t throwing cold air at all so I replaced the bad AC Compressor and then when I added 2 cans, it finally started to throw cold air BUT now every time I turn ON the ac is makes a loud weird rattle noise and it stays like that. Do you know why would that happen?
This is not uncommon. Probably not enough air going through the condenser when stopped, which improves when the car is moving. And/or not enough RPMs for the compressor when idling. Check your condenser and see if it clean of bugs and debris and if not a cleaning might help.
This man is king. All Honda owners should be praying this Guy lives for 120 years at least. ❤ GOD BLESS YOU SIR.
Appreciate the support ❤

Great information and thanks for sharing
I’d love to attempt this repair myself do you have a video or blog post explaining this process?

@@dannysdiygarage to remove the spacer/washer that ranger is talking about?
Thanks for this video
Most welcome
@@dannysdiygarage What should I do if it says low oil pressure, but I checked the oil level and it seems to be fine?
11:07 what metric tells you that you need more Freon and that’s the problem?
I thought the code in the beginning was about the motor or circuit?

I had that happen years ago, 75000 mile later, still never happened again
dont see the link in description, also what scan tool you using
I’ll fix that today, I have a review video coming out on this with more details that I’ll upload today

Any experience on new expansion valves failing? Had one after 2 weeks go back to acting like the previous one. Freon has not leaked out.

Many possibilities, bad new compressor, tensioner, belt, over filled with Freon, all just guesses, just things to check

You added refrigerant yet your pressures never changed...
That other one you promoted is garbage. I bought it
This one has the same software but easier to navigate, I’m not sure why you thought that, I really liked it.
