Thank you for details for making the leader cloth I have a cutie table top and never used it yet .have had it for almost a year . Now I understand you are awesome thank you so so much ❤
I bought a Cutie a year ago and am just getting around to practicing with it. I've created a practice "sandwich" of flannel, batting and muslin. I tried the technique of the larger backing, smaller batting on top of that and an even smaller top/muslin over the batting spray basted but it's just not working. Can't seem to get the sandwich tight enough and the layers are separating as I try to move my machine across the quilt. It looks to me like making and using leaders, no matter what the size of the quilt, is the way to go. Thanks so much for doing this video...it's really helpful.

@@kaben20 I did too, and I haven't gotten mine either. But yesterday, June 9th, I saw that they were having another sale, and the next size up hoop frame, the Q zone, is a good price. I was going to buy the legs for the Cutie, but realized that by the time I bought the legs, I was spending almost as much as the Q zone cost. So I cancelled the Cutie and I am going to get the Q zone instead. I hope this frame works for me. I am excited to get it. It is hard to wait, isn't it?
Hi, thank you for this video, it is exactly what I need. My question is, do I need to start from the top of my quilt or should I start from the middle and work my way out. I have the Jazz II and the cutie frame. Thanks.
I seen one today at a quilt show in Deland and was impressed. I have a Singer and Brothers sewing machines and want to know if I can use the Cutie with them? Also can you tell me how much a screen cost for spread and which length? I have a tablet I want to use with it too.
Thank you for watching here is how to make your leaders. Cotton Canvas Fabric 2 yards (cream color) Measure your frame. If you have a rolling frame measure the length of your pole and cut four 12” pieces WOF. Sew them together and cut to the length of the roller. Make 2 If you have a hoop frame do the same as above, but figure the width of the quilt you plan to make (I used 120”) Make 2. For the hoop, you need side ones also. Measure the size of your hoop sides subtract 2” from this measurement and cut 2 side pieces from your 12” leftovers. Hem all of your pieces. Press up a ¼” hem and again another ¼” hem and sew. Do this to all 2 or 4 pieces depending on your frame (hem all 4 sides of Leaders) Optional: I took a permanent marker and marked the center of the long leaders. Then using a ruler, I marked 1” up from the bottom edge of the long ones the length of the leader to help in pinning the back on straight. Make any other marks you feel might be necessary.
What measurements did you use for your leader, I want to make my own to save money! I just got my cutie frame and am ready to quilt! Thank you for this great video!

This is a great video! I want a Cutie and have the Jazz 1, lol. I was planning to use it on the Cutie but I wouldn't be able to put the needle down. Any suggestions?
An option is to run a foot along a straight edge. They make "ruler," feet for most machines. You can also put channel locks on the frame that only allows moving on one axis.
Leaders are strips of fabric that are pinned to the quilt to make it easier to sew close to the edges. The stitch regulator involves two encoders that ride on the rails of the carriage and a controller sends a signal through the foot control plug to keep you stitches all the same length. You can see more information on our web site. www.electrichospital.net/shop/c/p/SURESTITCH-ELITE-STITCH-REGULATOR-x60333121.htm An less expensive alternative is my invention the Precise Pedal Power.
