I completely forgot it was releasing this month, immediately ordering it .Loved all the illustrations and that camp site for the world cup was so beautiful and that riddle house so creepy but in a good way . I also loved Dumbledore's illustration when he was picking out names from the goblet . Also really liking the new profile picture.
I absolutely love this book especially because this is my most favourite book in the series but I think that there were so many important things in this book that were not illustrated like the trials in the pensieve and Harry Ron and Hermione in hogsmeade with Sirius and the whole maze of the 3rd task because there was like nothing illustrated for that chapter except the spider and their was so much more in the maze with the sphinx and everything and there were so many pages with nothing on them at all. so I do like this edition but it's not that good as I had expected but that illustration of Mrs. Weasleys letter was epic and so beautiful 🤩
My best friends 7 year old is up to the Prisoner of Azkaban and he is loving it. I’m thinking about getting him this but I’m slightly worried the death eater illustrations will definitely frighten him 😂😂 do I don’t I 🥲
If its a bit scary for your 7 year old there are smaller paperback versions of the illustrated versions with jim kay. They are aimed at younger children and have less illustrations in them so I suppose they take out the scary illustrations in them. Plus it has posters.

I felt that some of the illustrations weren't as per the book descriptions. They were more of a grungy art rather than accurate representation of the book. Nevertheless pretty!
Harry Potter is for everyone not specifically targeted only for children. I researched there are smaller versions of the hp illustrated books by Jim Kay which are in paperback and contains less illustrations which the books are more suited for younger children compared to these main versions of the books. So you might be interested in looking at the smaller paperback version for your child (they have 60% of Jim Kay illustrations in them)
Jim Kay is such and underrated and magical illustrator, I really love how he's able to bring everything alive so flawlessly. Thanks for sharing ❣

Definitely an illustration of the trials Harry witnesses in the pensive! With Barty Crouch Jr. and Bellatrix Lestrange, that would've been very cool!

They never actually say he’s not attractive though. Just that he has some notable imperfections and is very broody and quiet.
