The Dr Pepper thing is because they are agnostic. The top sodas in the US are Coke and Pepsi and the Coke and Pepsi companies often supply the soda machines to fast food places. When a fast food place has a contract with Coke they are not going to carry Pepsi products, and vice versa. That's why you can get a Coke at McDonalds but not a Pepsi, and you can get a Pepsi at Taco Bell but not a Coke. So that the Coke places still have something for the people who hate Coke and the Pepsi places still have something for the people that hate Pepsi both Coke and Pepsi also supply some third party sodas in their soda machines, and Dr Pepper is the top choice for that. I.e., Dr Pepper is the choice for people who don't want to pick a side on the Coke vs. Pepsi question, just like agnostic is sometimes seen as the choice for people who don't want to pick a side on whether or not god(s) exist.
