Though what I've uploaded is an instrumental, it does have lyrics: [Verse 1] Brand new trends, impossible to track, Once it starts, no looking back. I'm left behind, I can't keep up. But I'm so close, I'm on the cusp. [Chorus] Neon blue sign over my head, Color of calm, color of dread. Blue like the sky, Ever heavy eyes, Watching all the people passing by. Neon blue sign over a bar, The only light against the dark, Drink already done, Waiting for the sun, Waiting for that one big hit to come. [Verse 2] Little red dots, little red dots, I want them badly, I can't stop. I want to say I'm better, I know I'm not Maybe this time, maybe this time. It could be good, it could be bad, I check every minute that I have. Nobody cares and it's driving me mad, Maybe it's me, maybe it's me. [Chorus] Neon blue sign over my head, Color of calm, color of dread. Blue like the sky, Ever heavy eyes, Watching all the people passing by. Neon blue sign above the glass, I can feel time going by too fast, Hundreds of names, Obscured by rain, Just another play in a neverending game.
I don't know how I feel about the lyrics. I'd have to hear them performed. Sometimes a song has strong lyrics that stand on their own. But I don't know if this is that. I think this works better as an out of time narrative. Almost like when we come across the drinker, she realizes that she's gone too far and ignores her instincts to fight anyways. Doesn't have to have a conclusive ending, but abstracting the song I think matches the instrumental as more of a mood song instead of something more literal. I think the lines about watching people pass by almost makes the drinker seem narcissistic. She's destroying herself right now, and it seems serious, why does she or we care about the people around her that aren't in a state of emergency? I think you're holding back on the edginess that the instruments are asking for. Maybe that's the intention. You've got a social media interpretation of the deftones version of "lived in bars". I don't know, I'd have to hear it performed. Yes, I know nobody asked my opinion.
this scratched an itch in my brain I didn't even knew I had. It's been a while since I've listened to anything of this genre but you made it cool again for me lol really really really good!
I'm really glad that I found your music, I was pleasantly surprised how professional it is I love your two last tracks, especially this one I have been listening to for the last week!
I watched your videos analyzing disney music and was really impressed by your knowledge of music lol, so ofc I knew this would be a beautifully crafted banger! ❤
I think this turned out really great. I love the rhythm of the music and the techno feel to it. it feels ominous but has a sense of wonder to it. Great job making this. :D
This is awesome! This instrumental sounds like something straighter out of a video game, and that's a good thing! Would love to see a full song with vocals! Out of curiosity, since you've said you're not a great singer, have you considered using a vocal-synth like Vocaloid or Synth-V for the singing parts?
I'm seconding this recommendation, especially for Synth V, which is much more capable of sounding realistic than Vocaloid! (I prefer Vocaloid because it ISN'T hyperrealistic, but non-vsynth fans tend to prefer Synth V, so :( the vocal synth space has changed so much...)
Excellent track, the melancholic tone really fits what you were going for I love that its a very oldschool electronic sound but its also very different from stuff I've heard
Doesn't sound bad on it's own but I don't find it enjoyable enough to listen again on it's own. It feels like it's begging for vocals to accomidate it. Looking forward to the version with vocals!
I had the opposite experience. I have a playlist that this fits perfectly on. Though I do think the mix could use a little fine tuning. The bones of the song work.
Buzzes my brain in just the right way….the syncopation and layering makes for a very fascinating sound that is slightly unsettling. I think vocals could add a lot!! Love ot
Why wasn’t this in my subscription feed? RUclips mess ups aside, I really like this, but I’m also curious how the lyrical version will sound. It could hit different with those lyrics you posted
I'm trying to leave a comment like a third time in a row and RUclips won't let me 😅 I just simply wanted to say that I like it, reminds of dark wave for some reason. I like it!
Things I hate about the algorithm; Your channel does something that is not of the usual flair even though its great? Aint gonna recommend it to anyone! Fuckin...
im way more interested in instrumentals once i know the vocal version... not the other way around 😂 whats holding you back from recording vocals ? The lyrics seem great! Fear? Shame? Perfectionism ? Just do it, theres no time like the present
Adding this to my autistic tunes right now. It does things to my brain, especially here 2:09. It sounds like rick and Morty intro and that's one of my favorite sounds in music. Please tell me what it is so i can look up more pieces with similar trope. I love it so much, it gives cowboy space alies in the best way possible ❤❤❤
Just discovered your channel. LOVE your breakdowns of music. Best thing since the Art Of The Score Podcast. This music is good. BUT, I subscribe to channels for specific things. If this channel is many different things, I wont subscribe. I know that many people will disagree with me on this. But, my 2 cents if it helps. I like focused and specific youtube channels.
The plan is to continue releasing music analyses while using my music to buffer those uploads. So the weeks I don't upload analyses, I'll upload music, just so I'm uploading something. Hope that makes sense.

Please make a version with vocals! 🙏💕
This hits my brain in the exact right spot

I really like the feel of it
It feels like going back in time to a time before mine when pc where just coming out and arcades were common
I watched your videos analyzing disney music and was really impressed by your knowledge of music lol, so ofc I knew this would be a beautifully crafted banger! ❤

i want just about to say that it would sound cool if the vocals were done with a vocaloid and then i saw this comment lol
Excellent track, the melancholic tone really fits what you were going for

This is some of the best instrumentals I've heard tbh
gorgeous!!! the texturessszzzz really got me when they came in. thank youuuuu

Same here tbh, it feels like the instrumental version of a song rather than It's own thing. It's missing something.
Guys, it literally has (instrumental) in the title 😭
@@user-ov9vr1wc2j I don't think it did at the time.
@@jeromyperez5532 idk cause I’m seeing comments from back then that call it an instrumental as well

I would loveeeeeee to hear this with lyrics eeeee it sounds amazing right now
This absolutely slaps. I can't wait to hear more songs from you!
I really dig this. It reminds me of some tracks in Hades by Super Giant Games, which is always a good thing.
I really REALLY liked your content. both original music and the analysis
Pretty cool sound. Would be cool to see the piano sheet for it

banger
Reminds me of Hotel California, like that it went more 80s thriller as it went on.

Waiting patiently for when you figure out how to get Goku to sing this song's lyrics 🎉

Yummy
