That is exactly what I am looking for, your style of painting works very well too. Great tutorial, I will try to follow your tutorial very closely when I get this set. Cheers and Thank you.
Nice work Travis, similar to how I did mine, but I prefer how you did the spackle and the sand. I put on a much heavier layer of spackle, yours is definitely a quicker way.
I saw most of these buildings in your Battle of Cielo Monteca and immediately fell in lust with them. I've put in a letter to Santa in hopes of seeing some of it under my Christmas tree. Did you order from the UK or do you have a US source? BTW, lovely to see another (but much more creative) 'lefty' at work. Your videos and games are a true joy and inspiration! Thanks!
This looks really good! I've never really known what to do to make MDF look good, this process works great for that style. Have you ever tried oil paint washes? It'll be way cheaper than agrax & has some great flowing & drying properties
Many companies have a 20mm MDF range (Sarissa, for example) but I find they’re often grossly underscale and look better alongside 15mm figures. Am currently putting together some 28mm MDF Mediterranean buildings for my 20mm Italian Wars and Napoleonic armies - will be interesting to see how that looks!
No wet palet, no thinning the paint, no excuses and no remorse. Congrats, looks ace man!
Travis, Great Job
Superb work! "Spackle"! Hilarious! It is called "filler" here in the UK!
Australia has filler too 👍 Spackle ? 🤣
This is a really good video 👍
I think it comes from the German “Spachtel” meaning spatula, the thing you use to smooth it into cracks in the wall.
Brilliant. I use spackle all the time on mini bases. Hadn't thought about it on my stucco buildings.
Thanks
Those are really cool! Loving the texture on there. I’ve been pretty put off my MDF terrain and this is going to make me take a second look. Thanks!
THIS WHOLE SET UP IS ONE OF MY FAVS.
Very nice town you have there. the technique is a great idea and looks excellent on the table!

Cool video, I'm currently building some terrain, since I've just gotten into Bolt Action. This is some great inspiration! :)
I've been doing the spackle trick on both MDF and 3d printed terrain, but hadn't seen sand or weathering powder in action. Very nice!
Very Nice Job Sir!! The Final Product is absolutely amazing👍👍
Looks great! And thats my favourite undercoat!
Great video and given me thoughts for doing my own, techniques seem really straightforward and easy.
Brilliant just ordered some of these for Peninsular Sharp Practice and Blood and Plunder
Gorgeous terrain! The tutorial was very well done. I picked up some helpful tips. Thanks Travis!
I saw your post on FB this am and was going to ask you if you did a video and lo and behold here it is. Nicely done great ideas. Excellent execution.
Great video , thanks for the tutorial. I’m working on the same type of buildings. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. Cheers 🍻🍻
you put in loads of effort, 10 out of 10. da iawn
Excellent! Many thanks Travis
great job love the village anmd some great tips
Thanks for sharing. Absolutely brilliant mate!
Great video and fantastic results!
I can't really use the spackle/sand for 15mm but I can use your technique for the roof. Looks great!
It would probably work ok just water the spackel down a bit more and use fine grain sand
Very nice. great job!!
VERY GOOD WORK! GREETINGS FROM GERMANY!
Incredible results. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent tutorial Travis, really useful mate. 👍😁
such beautiful work

Very helpful!
Simply gorgeous, fantastic tips!
Looks good, I'll definitely be using this! :)
Nice layout. Where is the play mat from?
The Sicily match from Geek Villain
Nice Travis. I tried using chinchilla sand mixed with pva on the walls and that works too. The buildings do look cool though!
An excellent video really helpful
Great work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍻
Very very nice ....
Thanks!

Michael Gustar thanks Michael! I ordered them from UK. Shipping was a beast but worth it in the end.

thank you so much again
can i ask what do u use to cut mdf? im wanting to start creating my own little cottages but can a Stanley knife cut through 3mm mdf?
I dont cut it myself. The kits come pre cut. It would take some work to cut yourself. I think they use lasers.
@@tabletopcp thanks im doin mine totally diy lol being an artist (mainly digital) trying to do something a bit more crafty!
do you do anything to the interiors of your buildings?
Not really. Some of them come with interiors. But most don’t I just leave them empty for functionality
Useful
ACW terrain, please!!!!!
Looks like the scale is 28mm which appears to be too small for me! I’m in 1:72 scale or about 20mm!
Yeah they are 28mm. 20mm is very cool. Gives you much more space
