- Опубликовано: 24 июл 2024
- Join me for a day in the life of a doctor, vlogging in the hospital! I'll be answering your questions about pagers. How do you page someone? What if I get multiple pages at the same time?
DO YOU WHAT TO BE IN A VIOLIN MD VIDEO?!?
1. Answer the question "what do doctors do that annoys you as a patient?"
2. Make a video of you answering the question (less than 1 minute, ideally 20-30 seconds)
3. Upload to RUclips as "unlisted" (not available to the public, only people with the link can view it 🙈)
4. Email me the link at theviolinmd@gmail.com
5. Include your first name and the country you live in
Deadline: July 1st, 2018
This video will be similar to "Do Doctors Annoy Nurses", so take a look to have an idea what I'm going for!
• DO DOCTORS ANNOY NURSE...
I look forward to hearing from you!! 🤗
Thanks for watching and I hope you have a great week!

OMG I just realized in only TEN days you’ll be a SECOND year medical resident!
Ahhhhh I know!! So crazy.. HUGE jump in responsibility so I think they will be some good vlogs to come!
Remember this:
1st year resident: Doesn't know what to do
2nd year resident: Knows what to do
3rd year resident: Knows when NOT to do something
That means a new intro!

I always wanted to work in the Medical Field. You inspire me everyday!I love your videos You are amazingly Awesome! You are incredible .Thank you!
So happy you posted! I’m new and have been watching old vlogs! Feels like I’m hanging out with you and you’re super easy to watch. I don’t know obviously how you are with patients, but you seem super down to earth and I really appreciate that. Hope you’re doing well and practicing tons of self care! Much love from New York!!!
I decided to go into the medical field and I was doubting myself until i found your RUclips channel and got truly inspired! I love how passionate you are and how you share you experience making me feel truly confident again!
On a funny note, I was laying down with my son (he’s 1) and he heard your intro and got up so fast just to watch you with me!♥️
Thank you for being so inspiring! Love your channel so much♥️
I found this channel this morning, and these have been the only videos I've been watching all day. I can't get enough of it! Great work
This made me smile! I am a hospital social worker in the states, and we use the same pagers in my hospital! Our patients ask us all the time why we use such old technology! It's fun to tag along with you, seeing the hospital from the residents perspective.
Girl I love your videos! Honestly I look forward to you uploading them! Can’t wait for the next one🙌🏼☺️
Thank you so much for being such a positive and capable person. Over a year ago, I lost an aunt to familial amyloidosis and complications. At some points, we would come across doctors and nurses that seemed like they were too tired to care or assumed that she was on drugs and didn't have a real medical issue. Many times, her sisters had to fight with the medical staff on hand because they didn't want to hear the information that we had on what she was going through. But at the same time, we always had incredible people who cared and took the time to show it. People like you are such a positive light in the world. Thank you.
You are a phenomenal doctor and the medical community is blessed to have you! I would feel completely at peace in your care. Keep up all the great work, and thanks for sharing your videos with us. Take care!
I love how much insight you give us on your daily life as a doctor ! It’s really helpful for us wanting to eventually go into med. You also have the best attitude which really brightens my day :)
I can actually watch your daily vlogs at the hospital all day!!! Thank you for making great videos as always! Looking forward to seeing more!
Thanks Hoang!!
i love your positive attitude!! it’s contagious
I really enjoy these videos. Even coming from someone who has just had to be in hospital for severe panic attacks I truly thank the nurses and doctors who treated me and were so kind and personable like I assume you would be 💜
You’re truly inspirational! I’m a 4th year medical student (in Belgium so lots more to go) and I’m still in class all day and have finals this entire month. But watching your video’s make me so excited for residency and clinicals! You keep me motivated to work hard to get to where you are now! Thanks for the happy and interesting video’s!
Love your vlogs! It is so interesting to see the process of your shifts and the things that happen throughout them. You always seem to stay upbeat!
I love your videos! I have spent a lot of time at the hospital you work at as I had a lot of health issues as a kid. It's very interesting seeing the other side of the hospital like this! You are very inspiring, stay awesome.
These videos are so interesting I have being watching them for a few days and I just randomly scrolled across them and I’m really happy I did xx

loved the vid!! and I’ve been loving all of your videos Siobhan! it’s crazy to see how much your channel has grown over this past year. I remember watching your first video last year when you had under 600 subs and you’ve come all the way to nearly 100k!! can’t wait for next weeks video :)
I love watching your channel. I just discovered you about a week ago and I find you incredible!! Love from Oregon!! 😊😊❤
Oms! You literally went up by 6000 subs in like 4 days! I’m so happy for you!!
Sooo close to 100k!!! ❤️❤️❤️ keep going strong
Love, love, LOVE your videos! ❤️
Love your vlogs! Another (quick) video idea would be to do a life story, or why you decided to go into med! :)
That’s for the suggestions! I would love to do a “draw my life” but I’m honestly so bad at drawing haha... I may need to find another way!
You could just do a video collage and basically just show pictures of moments in your life and what was going on during those times and what you were thinking, etc!
I just discovered you & I love love love your personality. You seem so positive and lovely 😊 what a doctor should be like 💗
I just discovered your channel & I can’t stop warching! Your content is soooo good!
Congrats on a 100k!!! Thanks for the awesome videos you upload!
Woohoo thank you thank you!!
I think my favourite videos are when you take us with you to the hospital on your on-call nights. I could watch those on repeat. Love you!!
The videos are so fun to watch! 😂
Your videos are so inspiring I love how positive you are! I’m an X-ray technologist and I do call as well. Every time I wake up I check my phone in a panic in case I missed a call too lol This is a great insight to the life of a resident bonus points for showing health care in Canada!
Just recently started to watch your channel. Love it! I am a midwife from the Netherlands and I find it really interesting to see how other people "on call" are working. Thank you for your videos!
You clearly LOVE your job, which is amazing considering how stressful it seems and how long the hours are! You're amazing, so full of energy (even if you're physically not after such long shifts!). I couldn't begin to do your job, but I hope that one day i can find something I love as much as you love your job. Keep rocking it, you're an inspiration! :)
When I'm on call myself, watching your videos (when i'm on break, of course), gave me energy to get through those long night shifts ❤
I love all your videos! They're so interesting!!
I’m a new subscriber! And I have to say I’m hooked on your videos! I may have binge watched them.. ❤️

Girl, I am obsessed with your videos. You explain things so well and it’s entertaining to watch you do your thing. Not gonna lie it’s kind of anxiety provoking just for me to listen to that pager go off so much 😂.
Thank you so much... although i don't want to make you anxious!! maybe I'll try to decrease the volume on that thing haha
I find your channel very informative and motivating. You truly love your profession. I am currently in Nursing Assistant school and doing my Nursing Reqs lol bottom of the medical chain. But I truly love your vlogs and the motivation you put out. Thank you!!
Love your videos! They make me want to go into the Medical Field even more, thank you for the continuous inspiration, it is truly life changing!

I was a first year resident in 2009, and we already had cell phones at the hospital! (I'm from Spain).
Your channel brings me nice memories, because when I was in my third year as resident, I went to McMaster for 3 months! I almost cried when I recognised the hospital in your videos :)

I'm 13 and I've been thinking anout what I want to be when I'm older and I'm so glad I found your channel because I kinda want to be a doctor now! Keep up the good work!

I just found your channel and am addicted! Have a good shift!
I just came across your channel a couple days ago and I'm already obsessed! 😂😍
Hi Samantha - so glad to hear that!! Thanks for taking the time to say hi!
You are so cute! I know this is an old video but I was actually Googling how pagers are used in hospitals and this video was one of the top video results. And it perfectly answered the questions I had, so thank you!
I just recently found your channel and I must say, I am addicted! Secondly, we are just starting to use the paging system at the hospital I work at. There is a lot of flaws but it has gotten a lot better! They’re working on dead zones because unfortunately, they don’t work in ICU or the nursing home that’s attached but on the other hand it’s smoother to get a hold of the attending(s). Although, we don’t have the 1-2-3 system which is a nice touch, if it is urgent the physicians told us to not even bother with the beeper, to call their personal cell phone directly. I’m excited to see that our small hospital still can hold its own with similar ways aka the beepers but who am I kidding, they just made it mandatory that the doctors are to place all their orders in the system (POM) vs hand written orders! My question is, is there any doctors in your facility that still do hand written orders (not progress notes) or are they strictly placing them in the system??
Hi Sam - thanks for sharing about your hospital! So it depends which hospital you are at... I work at one that is all electronic (orders, notes, everything) and I work at others that are still all paper and pen for notes and orders! It’s certainly easier to read on the computer though haha!
Violin MD I agree! For now most of our speciality doctors are allowed to write progress notes in the chart, but our hospitalist have to do everything in the system. They’re trying to switch the specialty doctors over but it’s a lot harder for them to learn the system after they’ve done everything on paper for so long! I think a lot of people can agree computer is easier due to doctors handwriting being it’s own language on its own as well. Thanks for replying! 😁
I found ur channel and watched one vid now I can’t stop watching u inspire me to be like you
I have no interest in becoming a doctor or pursuing anything in the medical field but your videos are so insightful and interesting that I can’t stop watching

You're so close to 100 thousand subs!!!!! 😆💖💖
Eeeek I know so exciting!! 🙌
Just wanted to drop in and say thanks for the great content. My parents both had pagers (mom was a registered nurse, not quite sure why my dad had one) and I never knew exactly what they did.
As someone whose been in the ER, thank you for helping me understand the triage process and why I don't get "service" as quickly as I'd like all the time haha.
Your videos are great for me to watch at night because they relax me at night 😂❤️
Your freckles are the cutest!
I absolutely love your videos✨
