The artifact strongbox is basically just gambling with gambled stuff
Gambling with money that you gambled from other place basically
7 layers of RNG on artifacts themselves.
Even leveling an artifact piece is basically just like that also (RNG is everywhere)
it's like the bonus you get after you deposit money
Artifact Farming in a Nutshell: You gamble to get gambling material to gamble some more and hope that it gives you a higher chance to gamble more effectively at gambling, resulting in more gamble per gamble, allowing you to unlock extra gambling!
That 125 flat DEF on the emblem circlet is both troll and legendary. I don't think I've ever had anything that bad, but I also don't upgrade further if I get two bad stat rolls in a row.
My motto for artifacts: Keep farming till you get all the mainstats for the character > pick the mainstats with the best value (substats) for the character > level em up > equip > forget.
I don't particularly care about the substats as long as the set bonus and mainstats are right. Most of the time that is all it takes to do big damage. If enemies die they die 👌.
If you can kill a entire hilichurl village without issues you're good

i wish i seen this earlier, im ar 47 now but like last week i reached ar45, i had i think 70ish fragile resin and ive already burnt most of it, i have like 5 left. i hyperfocused ok getting the best artifacts i could for my 2 main dps' and as a result it takes so long to get artifacts for new characters, specifically yelan, which i got yesterday and still yet to get an emblem artifact for her
Substats become crucial at world level 8 so I feel sorry for you when this motto starts eating dirt

The strongbox is stingy as hell, also farmed the hell out of the Emblem domain this past year but still has sub par artifacts, why does it even need 3 artifacts to produce a single one?! 😭

I wish artifacts from the strongbox just picked substate and mainstats randomly and also always had four substats. That one change alone would make it significantly less painful! The fact that they intentionally make the good stats less likely than the bad ones is only pain.
Recently got a piece that all rolled into flat atk. 3 useful stats, 2 being crit. After 2 or so rolls, I actually hoped it went well into it just because of how rare it is, and was so happy in the end it actually did. 😳

With emblem drop rates rigged and initial substats and rolls rigged in favor of flat stats (suggested by datamining), the grind will never end. They added emblem to the strongbox to make it seem like they care about lessening the grind, but underneath the hood they made adjustments so nothing really changed. They know artifact grinding for min/maxing for the abyss or flexing in coop is the only endgame content the game has and they're not about to make that easier to keep you hooked.
From my own experience, I can already tell the result before watching the video.
Though to me, when I imagine my character being good after equipping the artifacts I farmed for them, I don't feel tired from farming.
I would roll those 4 liners even with 1 crit sub stat. My 40+ crit damage piece is from those artifacts

Same 5000 resin worth of fragile resin but ended with one good piece after months of grinding and saving 😊
The Chance for every roll getting into flat Defense on this Artifact was 0,0009765625% and still Hoyo made it possible to let Bran suffer this hard.
Multiply by 100 if you wanna use it as a percentage

@@renectonr.6723 25% means 0.25 and it is 0.25^5 that the calculator gave you, percent (per cent!) its simple. the calculator doesnt know what percent is. "%" is a macro for "divide by (/)100" in calculator. The result is always a fraction(per 1) and you have to multiply it by 100 at the end.
Anyway the number is so minuscule that multiplying it by 100 doesn't practically affect the understanding at all

Strongbox always worth it if you're at endgame. You don't want to keep shitty artifact and your inventory has its limit.
The mechanic of strongbox though has to improve for more quality of life.
AR 58, I have NEVER got good artifacts from a strongbox. After I put there 150 artifacts and got nothing, but trash, even worse than those artifacts, that I put there, I decided to forget about the strongbox. And you know what? Now I have food for rare good artifacts. Less pain, more profit^^
Am I the only one that is lucky on the strong box? Have gotten a 50 cv piece and like about 2 40+ cv. Also I have only gotten 10 artifacts from strongbox. (Ar 48).

I don’t get how you evaluate artifacts. You won’t roll a good three liner to see if it rolls second crit but will roll a double crit 3 stat start. Those are identical in crit rolls.
Exactly. I find that the majority of players have poor artifact decision skills. Like this dude sacrifices multiple leveled artifacts to instantly get +20 and it turnsnout to be a waste when he gets the 2x exp. The amount of wasted resources in these videos is astounding and those same people always complain saying they never get good artifacts

I’ve been getting real lucky with artifact farming except with the severed fate. Worst domain with the best outcome if you win the gamble

I actually saved all my artifacts when i heard that vermillion was gonna add and i got 3 really good artifacts for my xiao! I was hoping i could get a 4pc vermillion but i never got a good sands but sometimes taking chances turns out good!!😭✨️

farming for maruchaussee hunter has been HELL for me. i keep getting far more golden troupe over hunter and any hunter atifacts i DO get are complete dogshit. while the golden troupe artifacts i've collected is subpar at best

The strongbox kinda works for me. Like I would farm for domains that my DPS needs then strongbox the sets my supports need. I've never farmed for VV but my Kazuha and sucrose got their own EM sets, Bennett also got noblesse from strongbox.
im actually really happy they added pale flame because i got eula in 3.8 (yes,even her weapon. unintentionally might i add) and while i CAN beat the domain normally,it’s just pain and suffering.

NGL strongbox is a lifesaver for when you're farming Wanderer Troupe. I got some of my best pieces through it.
I think you might have a bit too high expectations Bran. That Hydro goblet could have rolled into crit 1 more time and been a 30 CV piece. Also if you ever plan on getting Raiden definitely keep good att% (mainstat) goblets. Especially on Emblem!

i feel like artifact farming needs a rework for genshin. i understand they want us to play every day because big numbers for them, but being able to do like 8 runs, while still needing a ton of resin for ley lines and weekly bosses (for the battle pass) is kinda stupid. it used to be 120... when we had like 5 weekly bosses less, and like 10 artifact sets less. i can bet my left nut playtime in genshin would DOUBLE globaly if they let us farm artifacts without resin. or increase the cap for resin, or make it recharge faster so i can do 8 runs twice a day, or make artifact runs cost less

Artifact and weapon xp items in this game are what almost make me stop playing it, not only do you have to get lucky but you also have to wait for a few chances/week to grind for what you actually want or need, seriously its fucking HORRIBLE

I keep maxing out artifact limit because that is all I do these days when I am not leveling characters. The strong box allows me to save my resin for newer artifact sets, talent mats or boss mats. The limit is raised but I feel like I will have it maxed out in no time. It is not ideal, but I don't need all those artifacts just for leveling up new ones, I just keep some for fodder.

since emblem is one strongbox most promising substats are from feathers but theres still some copium moment where it rolled in the awful def stat so 10 days into fontaine i got 3 great feathers and 1 great flower what i need is a crit rate circlet for my xingqiu then possibly a 30 crit dmg+ sub stat so i can have a cracked Yelan and Raiden then through their old artifact to the likes of Xiangling, Beidou and Mona
Bro, both artifact domains AND the strongbox is a huge scam. I farmed Emblem for like about 7 months - didn't get a single okay one (most of the time I didn't even get Emblem lol). Tried to stuff it all into the strongbox - 3/4 of them all were def 😭😭😭 I'm so done with all of this. Gotta accept my shitty builds I guess

its so funny to me how people hate on the strongbox even though it made getting decent artefacts easier, odds for domain and strongbox are both the same shit, but now you get 4 artefacts instead of 3 for the same resin cost and its also the set you want and not the wrong set half of the time. also who cares about artefact exp anyways, i have to level random copium all the time because i run out of inventory space
U know from my personal experience they give u a very good artifact and then roll all worse stats in it .. happened with every single of them I swear since 4.0
Yes, it always ends like this. It's a waste of time . I would only grind for maybe 4 or 5 days of resin max and settle with something decent. Artifact grind in Genshin is terrible and nothing is done to improve it. I believe making it so you don't have to pick them from the ground was the only qol for all this years (apart from condensed resin which in general is a big thing). Star Rail has the same problem but somehow it's easier + you can target craft pieces (and still have shit substats). Guess for me personally i don't keep purple pieces in Genshin, while in Star Rail i keep and use them, so it's easier to gear up without weeks of grinding.
After watching this on stream.. I tried it and got a few good ones for my Yelan and Raiden... Truy RNG 🎉🎉🎉

The strong box is not a scam it’s good but depending on luck half of my artifats from the strong box its so good i got a lot of good pieces have 20cd with 10 crt and 30cd
