Hello there! Can I ask what variety this is and Where you bought it from? Thanks! nice to hear that this deos well in the heat here, but would you recommend it be shaded at all?
Hi Carol, thank you for watching and commenting! I actually do not remember what variety of Asian Pear this tree is. I bought it at Costco during the spring (around this time) when they have some bare root trees for sale. I also know that a lot of nurseries around the valley have bare root Asian Pear trees available right now too. It has done very well in the heat, I would recommend shading it for the first year in the ground but since it's first year I have left it uncovered all summer long. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@thegreenyardaz Hey, so in the past week I bought a few barefoot and regular trees for my backyard. 2 of those included asian pears. One is called Shinseiki Asian Pear {self pollinator (the only self pollinator in all of asian pears), 250-350 chills hours only, does week here in the desert}, the second variety I got is called Chojuro Asian Pear (the nursery I got it from said it will be fine here in Phoenix, although it needs a pollinator and will need higher chill hours upwards of 400-500). Shinseiki Asian pear trees are tolerant of both heat and cold and able to handle temperatures down to -10 degrees F from what I understand. It also bares heavy fruit set very young, in 1-2 years). Just thought I would share since I was inspired to go for it from learning from your video that it actually can survive here in Phoenix. :)
That is amazing information, thank you so much for sharing! I’m glad my video was able to inspire you to go for a few Asian Pear trees here in Phoenix. I wish you the best of luck, you’ll have to update me when you get fruit and how their doing!
Hi Jamal, thank you for watching and for your comment! I'm sorry to hear that the music hurt your ears. I have been working very hard to better balance the music and my voice when editing in my recent videos. I will take your comment into account in future editing. Have a great day!

@@thegreenyardaz no problem buddy, other than the music everything is good.
I appreciate you saying that. Hopefully my future videos are better. Thank you for watching!
