What a lovely video! I did it in 2016, and have just had a lovely memory reliving the trip! Beautiful work, and I speak as a retired photographer. You see with different eyes, and that's what is interesting. I am 70 , but I really enjoyed your take ! Well done!
Hi Bruce, thanks for your kind comments and glad to hear you liked the video! It was great fun to film and happy that it brings back good memories for you! Cheers, Kenny.
Great video! I go to Nepal each year, but just launched my channel and this is the first year I will be documenting everything. I have published my first few Everest videos on the channel but "hope" to upload 40-50 more Everest "how to" videos in the next year. LOVE what you have done here! Great job!
Fantastic video Kenny! What a pleasure to watch!!! To climb Everest is my biggest dream but i'm getting old for it... Hope to make Everest B.C. at least! 😉 All the best mate! Greetings from Poland 💪
Great video. Getting me geared up for my turn in October this year. Love the soundtrack also, what tracks did you use. Particularly the punk song when you were around Phadking. Cheers.
Hey David! Good to you're off to EBC this month! All the tracks I used are in the description of the video but the specific one you're talking about is by Neck Deep, song called Motion Sickness. All the best, Kenny.
Hi mate... Brilliant video!!!!!! How cold is in in February and what sort of equipment did you buy/rent?? types of sleeping bag/jacket etc etc... Amazing video!!!! :D
Hey mate, thanks so much! It was quite cold as it was still winter but I think we got very lucky with the weather. It's super cold first thing in the morning but as soon as you start walking, you start peeling off the layers. We were able to buy most of our equipment (jackets/sleeping bag/poles etc, they have everything) before the trek in Kathmandu and it's quite cheap there too so I would recommend doing that. Thanks agaon and good luck!!
Great video, got a nice feel for how things change as you get higher. We have extra days so might add both acclimatization and pure rest days. What do you think?
Hi Roger. Thanks for your comment! If you have the extra days, I would definitely be adding in more acclimatisation and rest days to your trek. We completed the full trek in 15 days but would have loved to have been able to do it in around 20 days. All the best for your trek!! Cheers
Great video diary Kenny. I did Kilimanjaro last year and have signed up to EBC for 2020. Your young porter carrying that huge pack always seemed to be smiling, did you tip him at the end? What time of year did you go?
Hi MDunn! Thanks for your nice comment. Congrats on getting to Kilimanjaro, EBC will be a great next adventure! Our porters were amazing and always happy which made them very enjoyable to be around and nothing was too much effort for them. We all tipped the guide and porters handsomely at the end yes, very important as without any tips they're not getting very much at all per day. I went at the end of February which really was the perfect time to go as early March is when it starts to get quite busy. Good luck!
Beautiful and breath taking video well did 👌👌❤️ m planning to do that ebc around may 2019.. I'm kind of obese person but did one small Himalayan hampta pass trek... Can I try ebc... Is it suitable for ppl who is over weight... I'm 30 year old... Kindly advice
Thank you Neenju! Trekking to EBC definitely requires a good amount of training and fitness levels. The days are long and can be quite tiring. I would definitely be training hard and eating as well as you can over the next few months to give you a better chance of actually reaching EBC. Wishing you the best of luck. Cheers.
@@kennybirdman hey thanks man!:) For the reply and motivation well I planned to train and get fit and will definitely doing next year... Cos I need to be mentally and physically fit and ready .... Will do it for sure soon... 😊 Thanks again :)
@@neenjuscollections Great to hear! You have plenty of time to prepare now if you're going in 2020 instead of 2019. All the best and let me know how you go! Kenny
Great video. Wish I'd still have the spirit when in my 60's. Two thumbs up. I'm going to do this trek next February/March. How busy was the trek at that period. And How cold it was when higher up like in Lobuche? Thanks.
Hi Spektrum! Good to hear you'll be doing the Trek next year. Our trip started in late Feb and it really was the perfect time to start as I believe the offical season starts on March 1st. The tea houses were not full on the way up but by the time we were on our way back down towards the beginning of March it was incredibly busy. You will be going at the perfect time if you want to miss the crowds. It was super cold as we got higher but we didn't actually get snow until past Lobuche but I'm sure each year is very different. The mornings were very cold but as you get walking you very quickly start taking off layers. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions, cheers. Kenny
Thanks! Yeah I did it all myself. It took quite a long time to put it all together (about 6 months in the end) but I think this sort of thing requires time and patience! Keep at it! Cheers
Yeah we didn't make it! I got up at 3am to attempt it and got half way before having to turn back due to altitude sickness!! I ended up throwing up before I made it back to bed!!
Mate, this was shot and edited so well !! Going towards the end of February with 2 mates, if they don't pull out on me. Did you do much training for the hike or are you just generally fit through other sports ?
Thanks for your kind comments mate, much appreciated! Best of luck with your upcoming trip, you'll absolutely love it! I did a fair bit of training for this trip though I feel I could have done more. I climbed all the local hills but nothing that could have prepared me for what was to come. I also did a fair bit of swimming which would have helped with overall fitness. I think if you're doing to do a trek like this you should really put as much time and effort into training due to the fact that you may not get back there again and the fitter you are, the more enjoyable it will be. Hope this helps and good luck!!

Thanks for your kind words Patrick!
