Thanks for the video. I'll visit Osaka in 2 weeks. It looks like Denden Town hasn't changed since my last short visit in 2019. I used to visit Nipponbashi and the side street (now ota-road) many times in 1999 and 2001 when I used to live in Japan. The shops and general atmosphere quite different back then. They still sold laserdiscs and there weren't maid cafés yet, or they were hidden and still kind of underground compared to nowadays. One of my favourite shops was the A-too which had many used anime soundtracks. It still exists but is now part of the Surugaya chain. It's the one store you briefly show on the Nipponbashi main road.

Thanks so much for this video! I'm going to Osaka in a few months and this video really helped me plan my trip❤️ Also, you have really good taste in genshin boys! And amber is so underrated I love her too!
I’m visiting Osaka in 2 weeks, thanks for this video! Now I know where to visit for niche anime stuff. Love that there’s so many Genshin merch as well!
Guide misses a few shops but you'll be able to see them when you go there yourself. The shop directly across from Animate for example. There's also one to the further left from Volks Showroom on the other side of the street (just be aware that the escalator directly takes you to the R-18 section of the shop that's the same floor as used figurines with boxes 😅).
Hello! I haven't, but probably only because I haven't been looking for them..! Hmmm..! I'd recommend going to SUPER POTATO RETROKAN OTA ROAD - maps.app.goo.gl/1qcT2BcDGJ8vApgA9 They have a lot of retro game consoles, and might have old Tamagotchis! (Or are you looking for merch of Tamagotchi, not the actual devices..?) Good luck and have fun!!
@Kiwi_In_Japan I'm looking for a bit of both :) I did manage to find one in Suruguya in Tokyo! I also found newer ones at Bic Camera but was wondering if there were any other stores! Thankyou!
What a great video! So helpful when you started from the train station. Very helpful for people like me! By the way, I hope you could help me , we’d be arriving in Osaka in early April, and need to go Pokémon and trading cards shopping. My oldest son wants a Hachinage headband with a metal in the center like Naruto’s. Could you help me where to find these things in Osaka. I would be staying near the Shin Osaka Station. Thanks a million in advance for your attention and assistance!
Hello! Thank you very much! There's Torejaras on Ota Road (that might be shown in the video! Which has Pokemon cards on the first floor - they also have a box where you can buy non-rare cards from 10yen each! There's a lot of Pokemon card stores soy yo might see them everywhere. If you're not in "Nipponbashi" but central Shinsaibashi instead, BOOK OFF PLUS has a lot of Pokemon cards too. I haven't seen a Naruto headband before because I don't look in cosplay stores, but I recommend GUF which has a purple sign in Nipponbashi. They sell lots of clothes and things targetted to more anime and games that foreigners like. Thank you again for watching! I hope you have a great trip!
@@Kiwi_In_Japan Thanks a million for your speedy reply! Truly appreciate it! I made notes of all of your recommendations. Can’t wait to be in Japan!! Thanks again!!
I will be going to Osaka next week (from Taiwan) so I am looking for some suggestions about anime shopping there, thanks for the video! I will be filming some stuff for my channel, too~
That's great!! I want to visit Taiwan someday! Please visit Nippombashi near Namba station! I recommend all the Surugaya stores, Volks Showroom and K-Books!
@@Kiwi_In_Japan Taiwan actually has a ton of anime shops, and Japanese chain stores so it's pretty easy to find new anime products here. I think there's a wider variety of older/used stuff in Japan though - although you can find some of that here, too. I have a question though - do you usually ask for permission to film in shops? In Taiwan they are usually cool with it, but sometimes when I ask, they seem to think I am about to try to film a movie and get nervous, haha!~
Wow, good to know Taiwan has some spots! I don't ask..! If I ask they'd say no, but if I start they don't want to tell me to stop. I'm fairly discreet and try to keep my excitement down XD
@@Kiwi_In_Japan does surugaya also order their stuff to their store for you if they are only available online? (of course I would like to get the tax reduction for taxes are very high in my country)
Kia ora! A true Kiwi! As Naruto is an ended series there's less of it, but you can still find many things scattered around of it! Basically every shop should have some boxed figures of Naruto! Many keyrings, clearfiles, badges and other merch items are less common. But basically every shop in these videos should have something; Torejaras, Surugaya, K-Books in Osaka! I also recommend the Volks Showroom for cool displays.
I recommend Surugaya! It seems in Nipponbashi there are multiple Surugaya stores! They have different levels of discounts at the different shops, bigger and cheaper "dig through the random pile" stores and then more curated "look at this Chainsaw Man section" stores where it's a bit more expensive. But Animate is WAY more expensive, I don't recommend there for second hand.
I film on my phone, so it's easy to take it out and start filming! Generally photos are okay but videos aren't 😬 But only twice have I been told not to take a video by staff - once at ANIMATE and once at the Volks Showroom (the figures in glass boxes place) I've been coming to all these stores for years, so only twice being asked not to film is very very good.
Do like all the good reccomendations but don't like how condescending and judgemental the maid cafe stuff is? Esp bc the girls who work there typically love their jobs. Rubbed me the wrong way :(

I see half discount is it already discounted on tag price or what show on tag have not reduced?
I don't understand the question.. 🤔
半額, hangaku means half price, if that sticker is on stuff it's 50% off! There's stickers that say "30%, 20%" too
@@Kiwi_In_Japan so the price on tag price already discounted?
ayato rerun is backkkkkkkkkk-
but i got wanderer already(i didn't want him-)
Nice video! I am at Nipponbashi right now. If a man would want to find Saint Seiya Myth Cloth where could that man go? 😅
CLOTH? I don't know, but I've seen Saint Seiya figures in "Jungle" I think! (Or at least the shop right next to Jungle that has a lot of figures!)

Where should I go If i want to look for like demon slayer keychains in 3Ds?
Hi Thai! "In 3Ds" ?? Do you mean like figurine keyrings? You can find them here in Nipponbashi too!
Yeah Exactly! Rly hard to find demon slayer 3d figure keychains
When are you going live in among us?
I would have no money if I lived in Japan ;)
I show great restraint not buying everything! 🙌

hi
Do like all the good reccomendations but don't like how condescending and judgemental the maid cafe stuff is? Esp bc the girls who work there typically love their jobs. Rubbed me the wrong way :(
I ain't rubbing you 🥵
@@Kiwi_In_Japan Nah you did, you were really condescending and tbh it's insulting to the women who work in maid cafes.
Both the maids who work there and the people who go to them know exactly what they're doing. Either embrace the cringe, or stop going to them bro.
Spaz
They call spas onsen in Japan 😉
