Just rode on the newer version of test track and this older version is SO much better. The line queue and ride experience is so much more cartoonish now. Makes me wish I could ride this version again.
This version was so much better. I loved it so much as a kid my parents let me go on it again by myself right away when we got off. I was underwhelmed by the new version, it lost something in the remake.
the old test track is way better. They had no reason to change it. This ride version was way more fun and realistic and it made it feel like you were on an actual driving lesson! why did you have to change it disney? WHY?
I think why they changed it was for various reasons. It was getting old. It's in future world, and frankly, now it wouldn't be so futuristic whereas the new one is. The cars are dated looking, and far from current models, the place was getting a bit grotty, the video and cameras were terribly out of date and people need change. At least in the new version the queue is interactive and interesting too.
Also, the car testing methods used in the ride may have changed since it first opened, and that jeopardised the accuracy of the ride. Also, when it was opened eco friendly cars didn't exist so that factor wasn't in the old version. Nowadays, that's actually a large factor with modern cars
I must admit that the old version is pretty cool and fits more with it’s name. But the 2.0 version isn’t that bad. I like the neon and technology theme to it. And the new tests are still fun. It’s practically the same just with different details and feels.
This one felt a lot more thrilling with more sudden turns and drops and the way they used darkness to give you jump scares. Not to mention more creative with the stages you go through. The new one felt very tame
I've never riden the original version and wanted to... but now... I saw the update and the update just looks.. I don't know just not as fun. The new version looks pretty dark and unrealistic.
New one is way better other than the temperature rooms being gone, those should have stayed. I only went on the old version once and I still always think about them when passing through where they formerly were.
From someone who has been on the "old" Test Track and the present one, it's only fitting they updated the ride. Personally, I found it incredibly dated the first time I went on it and was bored to tears standing on that long line looking at dummies and traffic cones. *snore* The ride itself offered very little excitement. I mean, you just drive really fast. The new added feature of creating your own car during your wait time really made it feel like you weren't waiting a lifetime. To personalize your car and see how it "performs" is really nifty. I enjoy the new Test Track, so much better than the older one.

Ive always wondered if you have some kind of agreement with the theme park to record on the rides cause I know they don't want people to even have a camera out (I know from experience) :p
Mister W look dude, the reason ride is the worlds fastest ride at Epcot, it feels like your about to crash into the barrier wall, but the wall split open, and then you go outside and the cars of test track at Epcot can speed up about 64.8 miles per hour, that’s why it’s the world’s fastest ride at Epcot center at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida

I think the old is better because it actually makes you feel like your in a test track the new is not the same

late reply sorry, but does creating your car in a certain way changes the ride (speed, etc) or is it just for the waiting lines?

yeah, it doesn't physically change the ride but it becomes a sort of competition between the people in each car to see who designed theirs the best
I much rather see the money that went into redoing this, into a new ride that Epcot really needs

Uhh, Thats wrong. Because I went on every ride and filmed it, they said no problem as well as what I did wouldnt disturb others. (camera light, etc)
