    This is just gorgeous! And thank you for the pep talk about appreciating your own art and style. This is something I struggle with. Something I’ve done that I think of garbage, someone else loves and wants to actually buy!

    Beautiful ❤ Lorrie I got the revlon blower but I’m having a hard time controlling the ink it blows too far . It’s going to take a lot of practice to get the technique down ! You make it look so easy lol 😊

    Lorrie, I just picked up my alcohol inks again last night and really struggled with some of them getting dammed up. My first time using yuko paper, too. I’m so glad you posted this video today! It’s really beautiful. I’m glad you showed your plastic tool, I need to find something similar to use. You do such a great job of talking us through your process. Btw, your laugh reminds me so much of my sister! For some reason, this painting makes me think of a poinsettia!

      I am glad you have started using your inks again and that the tips in this video were timely for you! Lol You are not the only one who has commented on my laugh lately. I’m not sure if that is a good thing or not lol. Thank you so much for the compliment and for being one of my awesome, hanging in there with me supporters!

      @@LorrieBrewer hearing you laugh is definitely a good thing! I watched the video of you blowing on the paper from a couple of years ago and it definitely helps me see what to try with the piñata gold. I’m a big fan of the colors you use. Mermaid is my favorite.

    Wow it was great getting to watch you create my Christmas present!! It's hung and I absolutely love it. Wanted to attach a picture of it framed but youtube doesn't allow pictures with the comments....but for those who might want to know, it has a black mat and a white box type frame which is perfect for it. Also Lorrie, I also have one of those sticks you mentioned in this video. I found it at Hobby Lobby a few years ago (in the acylic paint section) when rock painting was so popular. It was called a mandala stick for making dots into pretty circles on the rocks. I'm sure it is called many things depending on it's use. Thanks again! Happy painting!

    I love all of your work, it's fun to watch you make abstract pieces, I for the life of me cannot get the blow dryer to move the inks around like yours. Any suggestions?

    I just came across this video. I have a question? How do you seal your paintings when you use the Yupo paper or do you seal them at all. Also how would you seal in general.
    This looks like so much fun. That is really pretty btw.

    I am new to this , I tried to use watercolor paper to create some abstract with alcohol inks which didn’t work and I see the back side of the paper is stained too … should I be adding something on the paper before I use the inks ? What is the best paper ??? … TIA

    • @LorrieBrewer
      @LorrieBrewer  3 года назад

      This style won’t work on watercolor paper. You need to use a waterproof paper made from polypropylene, like yupo or NARA synthetic art paper and others. The ink needs to not be able to absorb into whatever you are painting on.

    Lorrie I love this picture. My colors for sure. For me they look like earth tones. I was and still do some acrylic stuff, but it is so so messy, and takes up so much room. I am always dissing my pics with the acrylics. They don’t turn out like demoed (sp). Do you know how many recipes that are out there. Each artist has they’re own method and supplies for they’re bloom or what ever they’re doing. Gets expensive. I really feel that ink painting looks pretty, delicate.

    • @LorrieBrewer
      @LorrieBrewer  3 года назад

      Thank you very much! I hope you like the ink painting once you get started. I did a few acrylic pouring paintings a while back, but not enough to get the hang of it. The mess was a huge drawback lol. Don’t get upset if your alcohol ink paintings don’t turn out like mine at first. I had to learn to stop comparing mine to videos I had watched, because I was about ready to give up in the beginning. It’s worth it to stick with it though!

    How do you pick your colors I seem to have a problem with that

    • @LorrieBrewer

    Do you still use the pedal for controlling the air flow? I purchased one and like it but need more practice with it.

    • @LorrieBrewer
      @LorrieBrewer  3 года назад +1

      I do still use it with every painting. I don't change the airflow with it very often, just because I'm too used to working with the high airflow. I forget that I can alter it with the pedal lol. I love using it for turning the dryer on and off, though. It's so much quicker and easier than sliding the switch over and over when painting. Much easier on my thumb, too lol.
