- After 41 years as an MP, there can't be many people who know more about Islington North than Jeremy Corbyn - so we had a tea and a stroll down the Holloway Road with him. For most of his time in parliament he was a Labour MP, but is standing as an independent candidate at this week's general election.

Yeah why would we want a decent, hard working, kind, intelligent man who has the interests of the vast majority of the electorate at the forefront of his mind? His opponent had funny hair and could crack jokes in Latin, what a wheeze. The public gets what the public wants.
Exactly! A leader always reflects the populace. To have had Jeremy Corbyn as PM, then people would have needed to take a long, hard, look in the mirror at themselves. This country was truly undeserving of him.

Jeremy Corbyn is one of the most amazing people that the UK has. The smear campaign against him in 2019 contributed in me leaving England as his hope galvanised me so much. I’m so comforted to see him doing so well. We should all have a bit of JC in how we see the world. Big love 💚💚💚
If I lived there, I’d be voting for Corbyn for sure. One of the last of the real British politicians.
Thank heavens that he is still an MP. I cannot explain why but hearing him talk and his deep sense of place in and with his community gives me hope. I think I need to move to his constituency.
I was born on the Holloway Road, 73 years ago. A bomb crater was our playground, I learned to read from Brer Rabbit books written in original Southern Georgia 'dialect' and the cloakroom at The Galtymore on Kilburn High Road was my 'other' bedroom. Corbyn is the 'Soul-bearer' for Islington . . . . . please give another generation the chance to experience being 'Human', with his leadership example.

The most aspirational, dedicated and trustworthy politician of modern England,. Brilliant to the progression of the asylum seeker to owning a business.Not many local mp's could walk around their constituency with their head held high.If i lived in the area i'd be so proud to live there with such care at every level taken into account.

Corbyn embodies how a politician should be. He serves the needs of his constituents and has pride in his borough. Could you imagine if this was the norm?! I wish him all the best for tomorrow!!
I love how he knows so much about the history and culture of his own constituency. Most MPs haven't got a clue about the area they represent!

Fascinating film, and Islington looks like a very pleasant place to live, plenty of shops and cafes round there. I’d love to go on a walk with Jeremy around that area, and his choice of vegetable biryani is excellent, although I’ve never eaten it from an Indian restaurant, as nobody ever cooked any Indian food as good as my Mum’s. This is a great film, and Jeremy so knowledgeable and likeable. Wonderful man, and always has time for everyone. 😊
Islington houses the haves and have nots, and a few of the have yachts.

I didn’t think I could love this man more until I watched this video. You can see how much he cares for the community and vice versa, there’s even a cafe named after him. People of Islington, please make the right choice tomorrow! We need more MPs with as much integrity and kindness as Jeremy 🩶☮️

Thanks for uploading this interview. It's refreshing to see a politician that understands and cares about the area they represent. Hopefully he keeps his seat, the people of Islington North are lucky to have him.
I hope he turns the student union into a funsters /climbing wall/ agility place for children.

All those things we had in the 80's children still need for moter skis to developin a urban environment but thatcher culled.

How could anyone ever compare a genuine politician like Jeremy Corbyn clearly devoted to the wellbeing of his local community with any lightweight, would be politician, parachuted into the area, unknown to the local electorate, but faithful only to the Keir Starmer corporate fan club?

@@italgong it's more that he's relaxed and happy as he knows he's supporting the people around him and they in return support him; he's not trying to pull the wool over their eyes and so is not stressed that he's gonna get caught out with an awkward question that exposes his lies.

it's only centrists who seem to truly dislike Jeremy bc of how much he outshines the visions they pretend to put on the table (equality, equity, fairness, rational common sense), he just lives it and is the most locale MP you're likely to meet - left or right, that's what ye want from an MP! not establishment centrists tho. they keep trying out of touch MPs on PURPOSE bc they don't want local people to have someone who represents them. they want someone to represent the government as a regional manager (basically) in the form an MP - a top-down style of politics that has already FAILED - it's completely corrupt to even suggest it, tbhimhotyvm.
apolitical centrism is being rejected across the country, people want a radical alternative to modern capitalism. who will give it to them and what will it look like? that's the q.
Local not locale. Centrist means right wing. Red Tories have destroyed Labour. Corbyn was the last chance to reverse Thatcherism.
