The eye thing is actually about time. Animation is extremely laborious, and the eyes have much detail in them. Plus a character without eyes will look less weird than a character with badly drawn eyes (with the help of good framing and storyboarding of course). Im sure the production team is grateful for every time they get to skip the eyes.
Honestly as much as I love my action and death in my anime, I love slice of life’s, romances, or feel good animes 😂 Spy x Family has been both funny and adorable and I live for it 😂💀

That helps when trying to figure out if Anya is hearing someone thinking or not. Also, Anya knew the whole time that it was Loid (Twilight) with a disguise on running away with her dressed as the "bad guy". She also knew about him thinking about the note and police station, etc. I just assume usually if I know something, Anya probably knows too. Also also, make sure to watch to the end, you missed an entire scene that sets up the next episode. This is one of those animes.
If you want an emotional roller coaster with tons of laughs, tears, with all the ups and downs, I recommend the Clannad series (two seasons) As for ONLY happy stuff, there's a few good ones I can recommend. There's also 'comfort food' anime such Helpful Fox Senko-San and Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. If you don't mind watching an all girl club anime, I recommend K-On! series as its very wholesome with tons of laughs and you'll absolutely fall in love with the characters cuz they always having fun and getting into shenanigans, nothing too crazy but its heartwarming stuff.

Death "happens" in Spy x Family but this isn't like Death Note. This show is genuinely a wholesome time with a few occasional moments of tension. If you really want something super cute with nothing bad then try K-On but I will warn you it's not great for reaction channels. My Dress Up Darling is a great show for reaction channels as long as you don't mind a little spicy risque humor sometimes.
