A little Internet research found that the school was opened in 1900 as an orphanage run by the Catholic Church. The main building was expanded in the mid 1950's, but funding became a problem. It was renamed as a community school, but was closed in 1984. There was repeated vandalism and arson at the site and most outbuildings were demolished around 1994. Finally the local preservation society recommended that it be torn down as the fire departments felt it was too unsafe in case of more arson fires.

Just goes to prove the mortar loses most of its strength over many years and its just the weight of the bricks holding the whole structure together..
Looks like it was destroyed in a fire...
