All the best to Steve. 👍 You kinda get used to watching these matches on tv, but when you are up close and see the size and speed of these guys, the collisions are brutal! It doesn't matter how tough you are, or how much you train, the brain is still just soft tissue sitting in a thin skull.

This is the price for being a jester for the crowds.
Unfortunately it's part of masculinity to not value your wellbeing. You don't see women playing clown for the amusement of others.

So you've never heard of woman's sport like um, rugby... Its a sad part of the game and its a risk professional players are well aware of and take the risks for the glory of the game.

@@grumpySafa Does anybody actually care about women's sports?
It's boring for a reason because women want to avoid risk.

@@xtwmx You should watch an international game, they are brutal.

@@grumpySafa Still a joke compared to men's sports both in crowd size and revenue generated.
You fail to see how men's local games rack up more attention than women in international level.

You are not wrong there, men's sport definitely racks up more attention than women's sport. There is no disputing that as its pure fact. What I am pointing out is the physicality that women also endure especially during world cups. You also need to take into consideration where you are located. In the UK, its become more popular to watch. With that comes more physicality.
As a side note, during WW1 and WW2 women's sport was far more popular because of drafting at that time and afterwards men's sport became more popular due to advertising and the physicality of the sport which increased the entertainment factor.
