2:33 I would have thought the approach would be the reverse here: sew the two halves of the pleat together from the wrong side first, then fold it out flat and do the long seam. BTW is there any special name for when you do this type of pleat with a contrasting fabric on the inside of the pleat?
Really useful video as always. I have several existing tops that are too big at the front neckline - would a small inverted pleat work on bringing these in? How easy would they be to do on an existing garment? Thanks as always. 🤗

I actually never made the skirt one but there is a sloper video where you download the sloper pattern & fit the one from the pattern. There are so many methods to the madness of sewing! Thats the fun part! I would call it an inverted box pleat with contrast underlay.

Oh yeah you could totally do this to a neckline to tighten it up. Depending on the top you can pleat it & edge stitch it down.
