As someone who has taken on 5 new plots and cleared them, the enjoyment of standing back and allowing oneself a few moments of self congratulation is unbeatable.Enjoy!
@@veronikahorvath5087 I'll be honest with you , maybe it's a little too big for just me, I'm keeping on top of it, but only just. I may downsize a bit next year so it's still enjoyable
Thankyou, obviously the work never ends but getting started can be a bit daunting, but I'm glad I put the effort in when I did. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated. Cheers
Loved your vid. Like the way you told us what you were going to do then you time lapsed it and came back for a quick chat then on with the next bit. Superb job. You held my attention and that’s hard to do. I turn so many videos off because I’m bored 31:44 right at the start. Excellent work on plot and vid
Thankyou - I'm the same and I normally make shorter videos than this, so glad it worked in a longer format. Thanks for the comment - appreciate the feedback - cheers
Thankyou . I think I need a quick win now and then to keep motivated, I did take a couple of shortcuts along the way but I'm OK with that, its a process not a one-off, always changing, now where should I put the compost heap? Cheers
haha , I could certainly feel my age at some points but was worth the effort, spread over 3 weeks to recover of course. Some great views from that caravan, once I clean the windows! Cheers
Thanks, I'm breaking the big clumps bit by bit, tried with a hammer the other day and seems to work. Was knackered after all that digging, definitely felt my age ;) Cheers
Thankyou, hopefully keeping on top of it won't be too hard, but we will see. Should be all be planted up soon and be all green and lush in a month or so, fingers crossed. Cheers
Very very impressive... and once dug you can then go "no dig" without the cardboard/compost game. Grass paths brilliant and great compost grass mowings. Big stump... yep I'd have to got rid of it too (gardening OCD!)... GREAT WORK...exhausting just watching😂😂
Thankyou, although I'm not strictly no dig , I only dig over when necessary if I've left weeds too long in a certain bed. I've got some landscaping to do on the new plot over winter but for the 6 months I've had it now that early work did the trick. Cheers
Thankyou, I'm pleased with how it went, it wasn't too bad to be honest, could have been a lot worse, mostly just surface stuff, that being said I'm feeling my age a bit now! Cheers
This certainly lives up to the channel name. You did a lot of work and seam to have paced yourself well. So glad I garden no dig. Looking forward to seeing it all full of veg.
There's always a lot to learn on the allotment and always a lot to do, but as long as you are enjoying it there's no rush. I'm in East Yorkshire on the coast so not too far away really. Thanks for the comment. Cheers
Excellent job Dave and well done! You will have to look for a new shovel if you wear this one out. Caravan is in nice shape for the age, good spot to sit and watch things grow....or a place to crash after all that digging. Would you be able to snag a used manual push mower and use that on the grass paths? Might be easier than strimming most of it and might be able to get one cheap. 17:04 is going to be my new computer wallpaper....maybe the look at 27:40
I was amazed by how good a shape it was in, its definitely watertight which is good. I do actually have a push mower that I got second hand last year, I have yet to test it out on the paths though, its quite hard work! Oh the lows and highs of the 3 week clearance in just 2 photos. pleased I got it all done though, it'll all be green in a month or so's time, fingers crossed. Cheers
Carve the jobs up into smaller areas/jobs, that's how I maintain motivation. I find looking at the whole picture quite daunting. Get some areas done and agree with yourself to leave some small bits for later (even next year) , that's how I do it anyway. I'm sure you don't need my advice but it's how I tackle big jobs. Good luck, you'll get there. Cheers
@@DigDaveDig No, its appreciated Dave. My mind wants to do all kinds - but the body isn't as willing to co-operate. Especially now the ground has hardened in the sun a bit. I've got bits that look great, but I need a priority list I think.
@@cha97michelle I get worried I'm not doing enough sometimes, but then I remind myself it's all about the enjoyment, too much worrying about things is no good, though easier said than done. Keep at it, and enjoy the moment, the weeds can wait.
I love your video! I was so excited for you and watching you go in the caravan! Ive just applied for my first allotment so fingers crossed, however there is a massive waiting list around my area, but you never know!
Thankyou, I do get a bit excitable from time to time. I hope you get a plot soon, there's nothing like it for fresh air , exercise and the food of course. Good luck getting a plot, cheers
your mounds of weeds, If you could stack it somewhere upside down and make a pile and then cover it with the dreaded membrane and put some manure in between the layers and exclude the light it will make great loam for potting compost if you want John Innes its 7parts Loam 3 parts peat(or leafmould or I use peat free these days) and 2 parts Sharp sand then add fertiliser to the required strength or you could spread it on you plot with a bit of BF&B mixed in with it. Well done on what you've achieved
Thanks for the advice, I'll be doing some more weed removal over the winter as I'm doing a bit of remodelling, so will bear it in mind, as I'm considering a new compost area. Thanks for the info. Cheers
Nice one, cheers, it's the end of the growing season now but plenty of stuff still going on. Thanks for the subscription, and remember you've got years of videos to catch up on ;) haha
Dig around the roots and then put a chain through and old tire rim and then wrap the chain the tree then onto a truck javk and jack it out. I watched my friend do a few tree that way.
Thankyou, I'm looking forward to my first full growing season on the new plot, spring will be here before you know it, hopefully. It's far too wet at the minute. Thanks for the comment, cheers

Cheap Chinese crap. Buy 4 happy meals and you get one with your order. 😂😂. Grow things that don’t need a tunnel/ green house till you can afford a proper one. May sound nasty but will save money in the long run.
