    Dude, I've been playing Fallout 3 off and on since 2009 and had no idea that you could use VATS to climb obstacles. 1,000,000 IQ play.

    Hopefully you haven't heard this one before, but on getting into Lucas Simms house, if you do the quest to disable the bomb in Megaton he just unlocks it for some reason, at least on PC he seems to. I'm not sure if that will help or if it happens on any other console.
    Either way, nice video!

      Had no idea. You've got skill points to spare in any case, but getting 30 explosives is certainly a smaller investment than getting 50 lockpick.

      Probably wouldn't be doing a video on that because it would be an obvious mixture of big guns/melee. Burnmaster into shishkebab and then do the quests of your choice until you hit level 12. Grab pyromaniac and that's it.

    • @poormansproductions2402

      Honestly, I didn’t even think about that, I just assumed it worked the same as in Skyrim i.e. was next to useless since 99% of the enemies have no DR. In any case, I wanted to optimize the damage for the behemoth fight and the wiki says those don’t have any armor. Go with the man opener if you find the fetching annoying, you’re going to get jack anyway.

    • @poormansproductions2402
      @poormansproductions2402  Год назад +2

      @@peaceless853 I have melee/unarmed builds for both games, should give you a feel for what you can expect. Personally, I find F3 builds more fun cause they’re “short and sweet” and I like the setting more. I get bored halfway through a NV playthrough because I don’t really care about any of the factions you’re more or less forced to interact with. That being said, I do think NV is a better game overall, even though I prefer F3.

    • @poormansproductions2402
      @poormansproductions2402  Год назад +9

      Shhh, don't tell 'em.
      I was on the fence for that. I guess it comes down to whether you think moving in a specific way within the bounds of the game is an exploit. You could make the case that clipping is the same thing, you are just moving in a specific way after all. On the other hand you're pretty obviously going out of bounds there. Still, a similar argument can be used to call it an exploit, the devs probably didn't intend for you to be able to circle strafe half the enemies to oblivion. The only distinction there would be they put up invisible walls and obstacles for the first one to specifically keep you out so their intentions are more obvious.
      Or you can call this mental gymnastics I partake in to rationalize clickbait.

    • @countmrvhs776
      @countmrvhs776 Год назад +1

      Maybe, but I can see using this sort of thing sparingly. I play on the default difficulty with a few house rules or restraints to try to prevent feeling overpowered too early. So I can see using a lot of these tricks in a melee playthrough at various times, but not needing to use them all the time.
      In other words, playing at a lower difficulty minimizes the *need* to circle-strafe in most battles, but knowing it's effective gives you one more option for those tough encounters.
