Poor li’l Arkansas! Show us some love! Clinton Presidential Library, Arkansas River, Pinnacle Mountain, Mt Magazine (highest point in the state), Crater of Diamonds State Park (you can actually dig for diamonds!), Toltec Mounds Archeological State Park(an ongoing mystery of what happened to the indigenous people), tons of lakes, Pea Ridge (civil war battle field), Crystal Bridges Museum (Walton family), first Walmart, Buffalo National River, Central High School (Little Rock Nine)….the list is endless!
Small tip on your grey water while boondocking. Wash dishes in a basin and pour into black tank. Your blank tank doesn't fill as fast as the grey water. Enjoy your travels
Haha before I knew where you were, I thought “that looks just like a Boston commuter train!” And then I realized you actually were in Boston! I was born and raised in the Peabody/Salem area! As an adult, I moved to southern Maine about an hour or so from Boston. You’re in my neck of the woods!
I thought that we wouldn't be out past 10 pm this summer too. Then my kiddo broke his leg and we spent a few hours in the ER to get it set and casted! We got super lucky -- the "in" gate was closed. But the "out" gate was open. So we did an "in through the out door". Just needed a rasberry beret! With the cast, there was no way he could crutch 1/2 mile to the site -- so we had backup plans to go to a hotel.
Arkansas has dig your own diamond mine and dig your own quartz Crystal mines. The crystal mines are what I would opt for because you are able to get lots of crystals. Diamonds are really tiny and scarce. There are several mines. I recommend googling it and from the information given, through researching, you can choose the best fit for you. Keep in mind, it’s really hot in the summer, and weather is gonna influence your enjoyment, so ask about best times of the year for most pleasant conditions
If you plan on coming to the beautiful state of Vermont please let me know. I'll send you some directions to some hidden gems. Also, I know of some absolute amazing places in Maine!
I am from Arkansas and when I watched this I was truly surprised you guys have not came to see the beautiful state parks in Arkansas. Go to Ozark National Forrest and go see Blanchard Springs Caverns!!! I would highly recommend this. Also maybe Hot Springs, Eureka Springs and a few in between there.
Loved your video. Another reason you would want a gate key is of you need to leave and return for medical attention. Say someone got sick and needed urgent care.
Lake Dardanelle in Russellville,AR is a beautiful lake. But is you are wanting a lot to do..go to Hot Springs Ar. They have a nice historical downtown, and there is 3 very nice lakes there. Crater of Diamonds is a neat place to take the kids. There is tons of rock shops with awesome quarts.
Question: why do your dishes inside? The campground I go to 2 times a month here in MN, had a dump site yet so many people have a “washing station” set up. Soapy hot/warm water in one pan, Luke warm in the rinse pan, the a drying rack. It has saved on grey tank space and helped with enjoyment of my surroundings. I boil water and use 3 sprays of bleach in the pan before I put the hot water in I the rinse pan too. My filter is set up before a splitter. One goes to my caper the other to spray nozzle. I proved to my best friend life is easier this way.
Come to NWArkansas - we have a place for you all to camp :) we just put 4 RV places (electric, water & sewer hook ups) in on our 5 acres in the ozarks :) you will love It here!
Next time in Boston, definitely have to hit Santarpio’s and Pizzaria Regigina for iconic Boston pizza. Also have to stop in Hampton, NH for iconic NH beach experience. If you’re closer to Mt. Washington, check out Rosie’s Diner if it’s still around, fantastic food and pancakes that overflow the plate! I grew up outside of Boston and skied all over NE so know A LOT of great places to check out
We were supposed to be staying in Bah Harbor for Lobster Fest at the beginning of August. Diesel was far too expensive so we had to cancel. Hopefully we can do it in another year.
You are missing one of the prettiest states in the lower 48! Arkansas has so many beautiful campgrounds in the Ozark National Forests, Oauchita National Forest, State Parks, and COE lands. Gorgeous lakes, beautiful hiking trails, mountains, caves, etc. Plus, lots of friendly people to welcome you! My recommendations: Charlton Recreation Area Greers Ferry Lake Petit Jean SP Lake Ouachita SP Maumelle Park Devil's Den SP (be sure to follow Lee Creek road directions, HWY 74 is VERY crooked) Bull Shoals/White River SP Lake Dardanelle SP
I enjoyed the video. I saw that you had a passport America T-shirt on. I signed up for it at the Tampa RV shell thinking I would use it this summer. We went on a three month trip that just wrapped up and I found the passport campgrounds either didn’t honor passport America or they were so subpar they just weren’t we’re staying at. Really disappointing with that program
Little Rock, Arkansas is an underrated gem. There is a campground right downtown on the river and it has a trolley system to navigate around. There is also plenty to do around the area.
Tony Bova went to Dental School with my husband at Georgetown in Washington DC. Every year there was some big event that required lots of help. So he recruited several dental students to go to Boston to help his Dad run the booth stuffing cannoli’s. We have only been to the bakery it’s self on one occasion. Tony was out of town. I think he still has a dental practice very near the bakery. So cool that you posted about his bakery.
Been at campgrounds with electric gates that you use a pin pad to get in or out, and they had parking outside the gate so people could park if necessary. Never one that they padlocked like that. I would immediately get a key even if I didn't go out after 7. What if there was a fire in another trailer, I'd want to be able to get my own out of there before propane tanks blow and be the first to open the gate for fire trucks.
My grandmother used to say ALL the time “Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it”. This statement shapes a lot of my decisions
Been there lived the slide out controller failing in our 2006 Discovery. I was able to repair the board with a soldering iron. Look on the back side of the controller where the wires plug in on the front side. I had a solder joint fail. Ours failed at WDW. I was able to repair it while I was waiting on the new one to be delivered.
I have a 39L and also had to solder my boards. I was doing the dance tapping them to make them work for years almost every trip then saw a post about how to fix them and haven't had it happen again since.
Can’t wait to see your visit to Acadia National Park. We spent many summer vacations at Hadley Point Campground when our kids were young (30+ years ago), and had a couple of stays there in recent years, and still recommend it for families. It’s an easy drive from New Brunswick, Canada, but the last couple of years it’s obviously not been possible to travel south of the border, so hopefully in the next year or two we’ll find ourselves there again. Safe travels!
Your video brings back fond memories of our visit to Boston, but that was back in '14 and we flew in on a red eye from Seattle on Alaska Air. Of all the east coast cities I've ever visited, Boston is my favorite. It is the cleanest, the most generally friendly, and frankly has the most character. The quantity of U.S. history is overwhelming. When we were visiting I never had a bad meal. We took the T everywhere. It is just a top notch city to visit.
Bet you have wonderful Schwann tek slides. I sync mine every time in and out. It sure looks fun out there too. I’d go out there in the semi before I retired last year. I liked it. If we go out there I’m gonna make sure I get a voucher so I can have a free dump just like my Hero Ben! 😂
Oh my goodness!!! We stayed at Winter Island in July and it was a great location. AND we had just been at Hadley’s Point before we went to Boston! Crazy.
Hey gg fam! I'm so glad people were nice to you. I've never heard of Winter Island but I'm born n raised Massachusetts. I live on Cape Cod. I'm sorry you had to walk all that way late at night but people are pretty safe in MA. I've done the Freedom Trail, I'm glad you got to do it. God bless you and the family!
We are in Maine right now and a local recommended a drive to Schoodic Point, it is part of Arcadia, and well worth the drive. We are going back to Boston and going on a boat tour so I will have to check out the bakery! Thanks for the train and cab info.
Also - Winter Park has a real mix of sites. Our first one assigned was in a parking lot against an old air hanger. We had to beg for a different site which was in a mostly dirt parking lot. But you can’t beat the location for visiting Boston.
Live in the Little Rock area. If you come this way, Maumell Park campground is a really nice place to camp on the Arkansas river. A lot of other RVers stay downtown North Little Rock at a RV Park that is right on the river but be aware this is basically a large parking lot to stay. The view is great but Maumell Park is a short drive to downtown Little Rock/North Little Rock. Just a suggestion. There are a lot of wonderful places to visit in Arkansas and camp. I hope you can swing thru soon! I really enjoy your videsos, keep up the great job!
I have family who lives in Beverly MA, and we were planning to stay at Winter Island next summer. Thanks for the heads up on the gate times, we'll for sure stay out a bit later than that at least once. Being from Montreal this may sound odd, but I absolutely LOVE the city of Boston.
Boston is one of my favorite cities. Next time there take the kids to the science museum. Oh, one of the best! Hope you got some lobster rolls in Maine. Oh how I miss those haha. We lived in Vermont for 8 years. As for Arkansas, great hiking and is so beautiful at Petit Jean State Park. That is also one of my favorites.
Stayed there last year. Had one of the parking lot spots up against the building. Sitting in the gazebo every night was wonderful and the walk to Salem was nice as well. That's one of our favorite camping locations. Great video!!
Welcome to Maine! We have stayed at Hadley's a few times and enjoyed it. There's so many great campgrounds up on Mount Desert Island!! Can't wait to hear what you thought of Acadia!
First time watching your video! So enjoyed seeing the sites……. I walked the freedom trail in February 1978…… it was so cold …40 degrees below zero with the wind chill factor….. the Boston Harbor was frozen over! My husband was from Marblehead, Mass and never remembered it being froze over. Being a California girl I was ready to get back home! Happy trails to you and the family!
We use this Sony A7siii and absolutely love it. Took me awhile to get things dialed in, but I feel like I have a handle on it now. -Ben amzn.to/3wlvMxw
Good times in Maine, we just got back from Scarborough, and will be returning to the same campground again for labor day! You were talking about lobster, and this is exactly the place to get it, cant get any fresher than that!! Happy travels!
Looking forward to your trip into Maine. I was born in Portland and lived there 40 years. Currently at a campground in Wisconsin, retiring next month - destination Arizona.
You are a font of information! I wish I had seen this video back in 2018 when we did our New England trip. We stayed at Normandy Farms in Foxborough, an hour and fifteen minutes away from Boston. We drove to Boston! Insanity. Spent $42.00 to park!! I just read the Winter Island Park website and there's even a ferry! I thought I had done my research but apparently not. Was not aware of all these transportation options. I have added this to my camping list. Thanks so much! I hope you visited the Mapparium at the Christian Science Center. It is a huge globe made from paired glass panels that encircles the entire room with some cool sound effects. It was created in 1935 and is pretty awesome.
Love the video as always. I can tell you that we went to Rome (the one in Italy) and it was funny when you said the 1 car going down the street. In Rome they had 3 lanes of traffic, but there were 5 cars across. They didn't pay attention to the lines in the street, but they mostly have small cars. Fiats, Mini Coopers and such.
I really enjoyed this “real” video! We’re still trying to decide which brand of travel trailer to buy, after learning some of the top brands are now the worst brands to buy after they were bought out. I’m hoping to buy a used one so that we can get better quality. Could you tell us what you’ve learned about the different brands?
There are pros and cons with most all of them. Hire a certified inspector before your purchase. We prefer used to new because then we can work on it ourselves without worrying about voiding a warranty, etc. They will all break at some point so better to not have to wait on a manufacturer to help fix.
Love your videos, wondering how you manage with your pets when you are away most of the day into the night . Do you leave the windows open, is the air conditioner going all that while ? Would love to know as I have a pup but unsure how to manage away time.

@@GratefulGlamper almost. A few more weeks of recuperation. Just a little dip.
Loved Winter Island. Stayed five nights last Summer.
Visit the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas. It is the only place in N America you can actually find diamonds. 💎
Campground to see Boston: imho, Normandy Farms is south of Boston. Full hookups plus much more.
You drove past me. Plymouth, Massachusetts. America's home town. On the east coast you can park free at docks. Look for trucks with Boat trailers.
We spent @ 4 days in Sargus, Salem and Boston over Halloween one year. What a blast!!
I was just at Winter Island today, and of course, Salem Willows....
Boston is great place to explore enjoy
I love the voice in for the dog!😂
💙🐾
Thanks!
You drove right by me! Take Rt 1 for the scenic route in Maine!
Don’t forget to tell us where you are. We are having bets at where you are! We went 1/3 way thru the video before the name Boston came out.
No Fenway Park? Even as a Rays Fan, it’s still a great place to see a game. Go Rays! Kiddos to your son for representing.
We totally intended on doing Fenway and ran out of time. On the next trip to Boston for sure!

Not sure if you have gone through yet, but you should stop and drive the Jeep up Mt. Washington. It's in our backyard and an awesome time!

Did you do any of the Museums and Salem historical sights? It is an amazing town.
We didn’t do any museums in Salem, we spent most of our time in Boston. Thanks for the suggestion however because we do want to come back soon
Can you do a short video about manually bringing in your slide?
Quite possibly, our slide is a rack and pinion style power gear so if you have a schwintek cable style the procedure could be different from RV to RV
Maybe 1 person drives to park; knapsacks & 3 people get dropped off at cg gate.
Arkansas is mostly swamp as far as I am concerned. I think north western part is best. There is a lot of rice grown there.

Good times in Maine, we just got back from Scarborough, and will be returning to the same campground again for labor day! You were talking about lobster, and this is exactly the place to get it, cant get any fresher than that!! Happy travels!
Thanks, Happy Camping 🏕
Looking forward to your trip into Maine. I was born in Portland and lived there 40 years. Currently at a campground in Wisconsin, retiring next month - destination Arizona.
Safe travels
Love your videos!!! I think I put it on my list. Hope your slide gets fix.
Thanks!
You were in Salem, MA. And NOTHING mentioned on the history of witches, Halloween etc etc etc etc
Love your videos, wondering how you manage with your pets when you are away most of the day into the night . Do you leave the windows open, is the air conditioner going all that while ? Would love to know as I have a pup but unsure how to manage away time.
We leave on our A/C and we also have a Waggle monitor that will let us know if there is an issue with power loss or the temperature rising.
@@GratefulGlamper thank you … this helps immensely.
A hoosier here... indiana has little to offer. Unless you like crime, taxation, bad roads & corrupt politicians.
