That also isn't the charging cord for the controller. The controller wire is built right into the charger and plugs in to the remote. I don't know what or why you used that long cord and an adapter.
I just received my mavic zoom yesterday. I have a spark so I understand the concept of how the app works. The only problem I have now with my mavic is I have no video. A black screen with all the readings on it. I tried my phone no luck I even installed the app on my Samsung tablet a6 and still nothing. I'm leaning towards I need a newer Android device possibly.

The batteries are not flat. They are in "hibernation" mode. Thats why the don't light up. To activate them just plug into the charger.

August Weister the reason is my Mavic was an early production model and the charger did not have the controller charge cable built into the charger.

To be honest I would try an Apple device. They are more reliable with DJI products.
