Ashland is the tops! - At the top of the state and at the top of our list of favorites for this season because we learned so much.
We finally understand what an Oredocker is, found out how picture frames are made and why the KIYI’s research is so important. We talked with the business operators in that cool building on Highway 2, the artist who paints murals all over downtown, and people who live in boathouses! We drank from artesian wells and saw energy being generated, strolled the grounds of Northland College and got fishing tips from Anglers All.
Since we Milwaukeeans are so used to the big lake being Michigan, we found it really interesting to learn about Superior. As John said, “They’re both great… lakes. Ha!” Never thought we’d say this, but the 6-hour drive is completely worth it!

I visted South Shore Brewery circa 2000/2001... it still looks exactly the same. I recognized it as soon as I saw the interior. Glad to see it's still going strong.
