I never thought we'd see the revival of Nux's anime-themed content. I remember his first upload after I subscribed to him being his crap guide to anime. Good times.
Fr, he puts people on a lot of great anime. To see overly cautious hero so far at the top is really nice because it’s a really enjoyable and funny series that more people should give a chance.
If you think about it, all of Fate/Zero was just Gilgamesh going overkill. Every single person in the show is obsessed with winning the Grail, but he already has one in his treasury. He is literally just there for sheets and giggles and it’s glorious
Not that I don't love Kuro-Sensei, but didn't he himself say that he wasn't actually the one who blew up the moon? It was a rat the scientists were using as part of the experiments that ended up creating Kuro-Sensei.
You only find that out during the middle of season 2. Till then you are made to think that Koro Sensei did it, you dont learn that the tentacles are super-bombs until S2.
That is true, but because that was something only revealed in season 2, at the time of the reveal of his destroying most of the moon, you were given the impression that he was the one who did it. so it kinda works I guess.
exactly this should have been an honorable mention and not part of the list proper. doesn't matter that you don't learn until S2 that it wasn't Kuro-Sensei it still wasn't him that did it.
One of the things that I remember about the Goblin Slayer is his rule of "leave nothing to chance". That means having multiple contingency plans and even having a few instant kill items i.e. using a teleportation scroll where the entering side is placed in an extreme depth in the ocean so that the exiting side is basically a high-pressure waterjet.
Rimaru-Sama didn't rain needles down on them, they formed water lenses that focused light in to extremely fine lasers, aiming for the brains of people to instantly kill them, being light they were too fast for anyone to avoid once targeted, and the lasers were so focused they didn't leave any visible injuries, the photons were so high energy as fast that basicly nothing could stop them save for another lens to redirect or disperse them. On the plus side you die presumably die painlessly, instantly, faster then your nerves can fire.
@@SamTheGumMan117 lol I was sitting here wracking my brain trying to think of which fight because I just knew you didn't mean the little ten second fight Gojo and Sukuna had
@@daraghokane4236 Ah but you see. I drew Deus Ex Heart Of The Cards! This monster card allows me to remove all spell and trap cards from my deck from play, and put Deus Ex Heart Of The Cards back into my deck whenever it is sent to the graveyard, or when removed from play. This allows me to keep drawing more monsters to ATTACK AGAIN!
God, for Megumin I really hope they animate the full series. Her explosion magic at the very end is absolute overkill and then some. It terrified all demon army onlookers and allies alike
31:49 The anime doesn't explain it super well, but rimuru does something similar to clayman. Like, as rimuru is eating clayman, he makes his perception of time go so slowly that clayman just has to sit there and reflect on his life choices as he sits, powerless to stop his fate, which is why we got a flashback for him.
I was about to comment about the clayman fight, since it was just down right brutal because clayman stood absolutely no chance, and even gained a stronger form, but that just made the beat down even more brutal as Rimuru absolutely decimates clayman, and at the end, he devours clayman soul, making him feel pain and misery for all of eternity
another overkill moment from slime is when rimuru fought clayman he used thought acceleration on claymon so his mind was working ridicuously fast and what was really seconds of rimuru punching him actually felt like months of pain for him
I 100% agree with Yu-gi-oh's Yugi scene being number 1. That scene had a very "Stop it, stop it now! He's already dead!" feel to it, and nobody even died there.
Something important to note about Kurotsuchi VS Szayelaporro Granz is that he didn't slow down Granz's reactions. He sped them up. He literally gave him a super serum that made his senses so powerful that Granz was capable of perceiving a second as hundred years. However, it was ONLY his senses and not his body. Then, to top it off, Kurotsuchi stabbed him through the hand slowly and then slowly pushed his blade through Granz's body. The human body can perceive pain within milliseconds. Granz literally felt those few seconds take several hundred years and at least half of those years were spent feeling the pain of his hand being stabbed and then probably a few more hundred as the blade entered his chest. He probably also spent a good chunk of years feeling his body shut down after his heart was stabbed.
I've been watching a lot of your recent videos, tuning in for the first time in years. Really happy to see you focus more on anime analysis and commentary. Thank you.
I am so happy you put in eminence in shadow, every thing he does is to flex on people, but that man specifically got him sp riled up he flexed so hard it was just ungodly amount of overkill. That guy was hyping himself up as "the strongest swordman", then buffing himself up with demonpower red pills, still gets his ass handed while the main character is 'just fencing', and then when he's already winning he's starting the monologue about for him to survive a nuclear bomb, he should become one. "I am atomic" just gave me shivers, both the timing after the buildup and how the audio suddenly sounds like someone whispering in your ear. For anyone into overpowered protagonists, for the time being shadow is the biggest flex to ever flex, so just watch.
Quick correction for Rimuru's overkill moment. He made lenses from water to concentrate sunlight into fucking laser beams. Very energy efficient since the amount of magic needed to create and maintain the lenses is miniscule. Also very deadly since the lasers themselves aren't actually magic, meaning anti-magic barriers are ineffective.
DRAW!! MONSTER CARDO! I remember showing this scene to a buddy of mine and his reaction when Yugi kept drawing cards was priceless. Went from mild disinterest over a duel because he’s not a fan to the anime to just fan girling. It was great.
Dear Nux! I am so glad of the fact that you added Kurotsuchi’s overkill. Because that one was one of the first scenes I got rewatching to grasp how deep that went. I love your content keep up the good work 🙌🏼💪🏼
Ok Nux, the scene of rimuru killing everyone in that army is one of my favourites so how dare you do it dirty like that. He doesn't rain little slime thingies, he uses magic to create water that focuses down the sunlight so much it pierces through metal. It is a absolute overkill that should be much higher in this list cause HE COULD HAVE JUST BLOWN THEM UP
The best part about torture dance from Jojo part 5 si that they didn't need to do it cus they already had information from Moody Jezz, which makes it hilarious
Bruh, I would say Seiya's fights are all overkill, due to the fact he's overly cautious, intelligent as hell, and does a lot of grinding. So glad someone else appreciates Overly Cautious Hero. I watched it with a friend on Discord and we both loved it so much.
Yeah much better videos lately hopefully they get even better back to the quality that actually got me to watch you in the first place. Not quite there yet but hopefully you continue to improve.
so glad you are at least partially back to the content you used to do, I really dont like the new main channel videos, but I loved all of the old nux stuff - different charm
I actually think the greatest overkill of Ainz Ooal Gown was destroying the Kingdom in S4 He didn't need to do that, but he did it anyway And in the end, he found the results to be acceptable
my favorite part of that is the little druid twin crying, not because of the needless slaughter he's about to commit but because he's worried about letting anybody survive and therefore disappointing his master.
My favorite overkill is from Universal Century Gundam. Char’s Axis drop where he drops an asteroid base on Earth so he can force emigration to space to become Psychics and destroy the corrupt and evil Earth Federation. The Earth Federation subjugates the space colonies and cause ecological disaster, so Char wants to make the Earth uninhabitable so people have to live in space. It does get stopped, so I guess the biggest successful overkill in the series is Haman Karn dropping a colony on Ireland to basically allow Zeon to survive and take over the Earth Sphere.
I had forgotten a few of those. #1 is definitely the biggest overkill. Yugi still held back too. He could have Heart of the cards drawn a monster card to remove all spell and traps from deck, then return itself to the deck whenever sent to the graveyard/banished, allowing for an infinite loop of drawing and attacking until he decided that was enough hits
One from the underrated anime skeleton knight in another world: the main man arc casually decapitating a basilisk in *1 hit* while an entire army struggled to beat a basilisk. God. Damn. Oh also madara whooping the shinobi alliance and shigaraki clowning on endeavour and using his own pose on him
The scene you picked for overlord, is very similar to the 7 page muda, over lord is a light novel and when those monsters, the dark young, begin trampling the remainder of the army, is just says splat splat splat, for a half a page, so probably the same amount of words as the mudas in a manga. Also, for a possible overkill suggestion Tanya the evil, or medaka kurokami from medaka box (or kumagawa from the same show) are good suggestions in my book. Nice too see ya hack to the old content again Lord Nuxanor!
Agreed. I loved Medaka Box. Her fight against Oudo in season 2 is so hilarious and wonderful. I think her and kumagawa are in the same category as Mistfit's Anos for broken joke fun characters. lol
I'd like to mention "My wife is the demon queen" Where the isekai'd protagonist couldn't defeat a half dragon half human hyper powerfull mage type dude during a tournament. So he nuked the guy with a magicly made real life hydrogen bomb knowing he would survive but causing him to basicly become mush from radiation poisoning. Best thing is it's a strategy he repeats multiple times to different people with high regenerative abilities because the regen just spreads the damaged dna faster and kills them even quicker.
26:22 Nux, that massive Muda from Giorno was absolutely necessary because Chiocolatta was one of the worst scumbags to exist in anime. Like within my top 5 anime characters that deserve the most brutal and agonizing deaths possible. Even Diavolo was disgusted by Chiocolata. Steely Dan, really Nux?! That was a necessary beating and anyone who has watched part 3 knows it. Dan's stand the Lovers first killed Enyaba when she pleaded for mercy right in front of the guys, and then entered Joseph's brain to put in a flesh bud from Dio where it would kill Joseph from the inside out. While Polnaref and Kakyoin were trying to save Joseph, Jotaro had to endure beatings, being used as a human drawbridge, and other humiliations to stall for time, and then when Joseph was saved Dan tried to threaten to kill a little girl before being halted by Hyrophant Green. Killing a comrade, threatening both his family, and a child, plus everything else Dan did was well deserved.
My favorite overkill scene from overlord is in season two. Where he's fighting the lizard men and they're in the swamp and it's too gross and freezes the entire area because it's too gross to walk in the swamp, that shit had me laughing so hard.
I approve of this list. Though, you missed the Bleach fight where Ichigo was having a rough/even fight until Orihime screamed, and Ichigo just catches the guy's sword in one hand and one-shots him.
I loved at the end of One Punch Man season 1 he finally meets and enemy that can take a punch from him and can use his special techniques like, consecutive normal punches. Implying that every other enemy in the show was slaughtered by a jab.🤣
i cant believe that the final fight in Daily life of the immortal king S1 isnt here, it is genuinly one of the most brutal asswhoppings i have ever seen, ofc after when videl got GODDAMN pummeled by spopovich.
one thing i think belongs on this list is the helicopter assault scene in Gate, cause they were legit just annihilating a force of medieval level bandits with MGs and Rockets
You really underplayed the rimmuru one, Rimuru sets an anti magic barrier so the enemy cant use magic or fight back, but ofc his barrier would not let him use magic either so he uses from outside the barrier water to pretty much create a laser rain using the sunlight
Loved that Anos was on the list,. Plenty of other great choices. Though surprised a few werent shown. like Bofuri's MC. xD Maple is a walking fortress of wholesome Overkills.xD She accidentally breaks the game balance. Episode one. She spent a few hours beating a dungeon boss by biting it with her moe-fang. All her abilities are broken and yet not. She often seems to do overkills on accident too. lol
Whenever I hear the lord Nux chant the glory of flexing, the question always echoes in my mind, "if this malad played Master Duel, what would be his weapon of choice?" And then I smile imagining dio with blue hair and meta humour
Surprised the final fight from Tsukimichi wasn't on here. Main character fights, stuff happens, is sent falling down in the sky from a height that no plane could reach, and decides to put all his man's into a single arrow shot. This shot was so powerful that it didn't just annihilate thousands of people, but the couple few that survived start saying that he is the Devil himself
Itachi had to show how evil he was that’s y he did that to Kakashi. Also that Yugi monster card sequence against Wevil I replayed the scene multiple times best overkill
Fun list. A couple I'd add: Yuskue vs Sensui after Yuskue gets possessed. Ss2 Gohan vs cell jrs. Kenshiro vs any random thug. (Actually kind of surprised this one wasn't on the list)
I’m surprised you didn’t also have the easy revenge scene from chainsaw man. After beating the Katana Devil, he’s just there, bound. And Denji and the other dude have a contest of who can make him scream in pain the loudest. They are taking turns hitting him in the BALLS, just to see him scream.
Okay with Kurotsuchi versus The 8th Espada (forgot how to spell his name), anyway, Kurotsuchi is one of the more unhinged Captains of the Gotei 13. He relishes in slow dissection of his victims, and poisoning them into agonizing deaths. Okay I know I did my own bit of overkill with three comments with my own critiques about a few of those moments on the list. I felt it necessary to mention the lack of control over Ichigo's hollow form, explaining Chiocolatta and, Dan, and Kurotsuchi. Even Dio was tame compared to some of those opponents in the jojo franchise. Say what you want about Dio but the guy tends to be as straight to the point as the knives he threw at Jotaro and Joseph.
Vasto Lorde Ichigo overpowering the Cero Oscuras, the same attack THAT KILLED ICHIGO IN THE FIRST PLACE, with just a regular, basic bitch Cero was one of the single most epic moments in anime. Ichigo didn’t even struggle, he just fired and instantly obliterated the Cero Oscuras. That’s basically the equivalent of someone using a Dodon Ray and destroying a x100 Big Bang Kamehameha in a second.
And with strange fake getting an hour special that means Herc is going to get his rematch if it gets a full series. And let’s just say Herc willl be flexing harder than Gil in that series.

Kinda miss the UI Goku vs Kefla fight, that kamehameha had OVERKILL written all over it
10:04 Rimuru used his "slime balls" to make sun rays deadly as laser rays XD
Lets go! Loving the OG content 🤟
The fucking torture dance is one of my favourite scenes in anime
Glad to see it animated
Never figured it out from the manga panels
XD
Surprised the final fight from Tsukimichi wasn't on here. Main character fights, stuff happens, is sent falling down in the sky from a height that no plane could reach, and decides to put all his man's into a single arrow shot. This shot was so powerful that it didn't just annihilate thousands of people, but the couple few that survived start saying that he is the Devil himself
Itachi had to show how evil he was that’s y he did that to Kakashi. Also that Yugi monster card sequence against Wevil I replayed the scene multiple times best overkill
Exactly what I needed for pre workout 💪🏻
The length you went to defend Megumin was the greatest. Shes the best and I thank you for agreeing! #LordNux
Fun list. A couple I'd add: Yuskue vs Sensui after Yuskue gets possessed. Ss2 Gohan vs cell jrs. Kenshiro vs any random thug. (Actually kind of surprised this one wasn't on the list)
Finally! Your best vids are this type
Jeez Nux. I didn't need to see a little girl get her eyes slashed out tonight. D:
Interspecies Reviewers overkilled MAL's rating system so hard they retconned the vote and perma banned all positive votes for the show.
