Hi Jim. I came back to this video prompted by a post on Facebook regarding the band and this track. I found them through the 'Wake Vortex' video that kept popping up on my news feed which in turn made me pop along to the old RUclips to check them out where i came across this video. It was great to see someone who had been blown away just like i had been when i watched the video. What have i just , heard, where has this band been, who are they, were questions i asked myself, they were an absolute breath of fresh air in comparison to the minefield of prog music that appears these days. I just hope they don't disappear because they will be a big loss, well to me anyway. I see their lineup has changed already with a new female vocalist.
Hi Jim, loved the video. Your reaction to the track was like mine, WOW ! At 62 years of age I've heard it all, so it takes something quite different to make stop and listen these days. I stumbled across this band only last week via Facebook, think someone shared the video or something. Anyway i clicked on it and was totally blown away with what i heard, totally awestruck.
Had the pleasure of seeing The Paradox Twin at the Summer's End Festival in Chepstow last year, Absolutely amazing performance and this song always stands out for me and brings out all the emotions, Thanks for sharing this 🙂
Welcome back; I hope you enjoyed your break! I enjoyed this song quite a bit. It's different from what I'd normally listen to, but I think I need to find a playlist to include this group in.
Never heard of The Paradox Twin before. Really enjoyed that and will investigate them further. Thanks for giving us a variety of old and new on your channel 👍
I'm so happy about this - makes no difference to me but am chuffed for the band that I've turned at least one person onto their music! Hope you enjoy it!
This is a band I haven't heard of so thanks for the recommendation, may I repay the favour and recommend Pure Reason Revolution? Very Porcupine Tree/Wilson-ish, should be right up your alley.
I first became aware of this band on The Prog Mind blog ...he reviewed Mr Bedlam (? I think).... Been on my to do list since. Thanks for the reminder. Good track!
Glad to have you back Jim! You look refreshed… Also, maybe a tiny bit ‘Muse’ ish? Ps. Listening to Sea of Tranquility now. Love it. Gonna seek out more from this band. Another highly recommended band which I had never heard of! Glad you’re back. Pss…(I keep adding to my comments) Have now downloaded their 2019 album The Importance of Mr Bedlam. Really good.
This is SUCH A GREAT BAND!!! The voices of Nicole Monique Johnson and Daniel Sorrell are just out of this world! Their new album is about autism (as diagnosed at Daniel's son - due to which the album was written). I just ordered their new album. You should also listen to their previous album 'The Importance of Mr. Bedlam. It doesn't contain any weak song. Brilliant!!
I think that will be high on my must go and listen to next list - several people have commented and said it's very strong! And autism in children has suddenly in the last few months become massively important to me.
Brings to mind a couple of things. That moody keyboard intro reminded me of Goblin. I also thought of Anekdoten, ( think Opeth crossed with King Crimson).
I know Anekdoten well.... I didn't immediately make the connection but now you mention it, it's definitely there. I don't know Goblin. Another for the "must do my homework and listen to more music" pile!
@@JimNewstead Goblin came to notice in the 70's. They were an Italian prog band noted for doing soundtracks to horror films( Daria Argento and George Romero).
Hoera you had a great Holliday. 👍🏽 I like the several background noises that make it extra interesting. Great singing. Yes, I like this immediately and that doesn’t happen very much. Normally I have to hear a sing at least twice before I decide if I like it. I think you will like the band Scarlet Stories with their debut album Necrologies.
since you are in the album review phase, please have a listen to 'Act IV' album by The Dear Hunter and let us know your thoughts! it's really worth it!
We really appreciate your support and glad you enjoyed the songs. If you haven't listened to it before, you may like to react to our first single, Planeta. m.ruclips.net/video/wb5nyjAFrf8/видео.html
I agree with your take on the band. I picked up their 1st album, The Importance Of Mr Bedlam, and couldn't stop listening for weeks. Loved the album which was based on extra terrestrials coming to Earth. Listen to Earthbound or Cycles. Had heard Sea of Tranquility from the new album and enjoyed it as well.

Thanks Gravity - anything PT/Wilsonesque will pique my interest!

Brilliant band, love both their albums.

Thanks for trusting me! Glad to be back, missed the channel! Missed you guys 😁👍🏻
Saw them this weekend at Prog For Peart and they were awesome live, bought the album on the strength that of that.
Mentioned this band a while back. Their first album produced by John Michell (Arena, Lonely Robot, It bites), hit the right spot on the whole.

Cool..... another unknown to me! I'll be checking it out art some point.
Im definitely getting a BIG Anathema vibe..... Lee Douglas type chills happening here.

The singer sounds very, very familiar. Like Leprous's singer sounding good! I really like this. Playlist!
Pasi!!!! How's it going matey?

Hi Diane, truly, it was my pleasure! I’ll defo listen to more, not sure I’ll have time soon to another video yet, but never say never!

Thanks Bill - some very strong recommendations for this album so will most defo be on my "to do list"!!!
I own a copy The Mir which is the first song on the album is my favorite. John Mitchell helped on the production and plays guitar on Moonblood.
Another very good new band on the prog metal bandwagon is Konom. A little darker than Twin or Yesternight but, what a great sound.
Konomnomnomnom.... tasty!
