Nostalgia at it’s best! Proud to say I was there. Always loved your vids dude, today I came across Shredder Mag being printed at the print factory I work at. Read it, read your article, now here I am watching Rankin vids from the golden era 😊 cheers!
I was just re capturing old tapes this week and was watching the original footage back, some funny extended everts scenes, not a bad experience for filming my 2nd motocross race ever.
yeh ya can tell at the end, I love JS7 but on that day Everts wa in a class of his own, and in the second moto bubba tried to keep with Everts but with in one lap his head was fucked up and he washed out in a corner. I walked away from that race and said to ar lass Stefan Everts is the greatest Motocross racer of all time and probably ever....THAT DAY HE WA THAT GOOD. Proud to be european.
Hey Alex, I love this video. I was there in 06. Nice pop at the arrogant yanks. Bubba's face is a picture. Im amazed the yanks refuse to give everts credit. Im a big fan of your work. Really enjoyed WFO. Keep up the good work
MXdN is a team event but there are also individual class honours. Everyone who was there wanted too see which country would win but also wanted too see who would be the fastest individual rider on the day , Everts or Stewart .Its always a much anticipated showdown when the best riders from europe and the US go head to head .Everyone who was there saw Everts ride flawlessly and saw Stewart crash whilst behind in the 1st moto and then get passed by Everts for the lead in the second moto & giveup.
Please dont be ignorant, its the FIM sanctioned World Championship because the FIM officially sanction and control it, as with all the other real World Championships like Moto GP. This years MXON proves that the World Championships is just as talanted as AMA. Herlings was going around 11 seconds a lap faster than Barcia who is an amazing sand rider, best in AMA with Tomac. AMA & GPs are very different tracks, we should look at the individual titles more than the Team result, better indication.
hey...woz wondering if u knew where I cud find any Darcy vids..R.I.P, he woz a legend, got his cd, just pissed off coz i can`t find jesus I woz evil on vid here :( w/b
because Everts used the US as training for the G.P's. He elected not to forsake the G.P 's for a career in the US and went on the be a ten time world champion. Good decision.
yeah totally, i do luv to watch the ama outdoors though (despite the tracks are mickey mouse compared to fim), but there is no doubt, stefan everts is 'the daddy' at motocross, dont care wat anyone says. he gets the job done. PS: dont go on bout laroccos leap n all that......
yes but if the individual wins the team is also ahead.A rider only plays it safe if its too difficult to win ( same as at the end of a championship season, the championship is more importnt than a race win).Everts was an oldman in his last race ,stewart was young and in his prime ( similar to Decoster and Hannah at Trans AMA in 78) ,Stewart crashe in thefirst moto whilst behind Evert .Are you saying thathe crashe for the team win ? lol . Everts passed Stewart in the second moto . Did JS let him ?
It's too bad they can't combine the series for more races head to head every year. Would be cool to see maybe 6 races out of each series be combined between the FIM and our American series. I'm not going to argue who was the fastest rider. That can't be decided from one race. I do believe that a guy like Everts could push Stewarts into the mistakes that Stewart is known for. But, I also think Carmichael is a better match against Everts. Unfortunately, we'll never really know because they never raced a series head to head.
Who gives a shit. They are ALL incredible!!! Everts has a super smooth style. Bubba Aggressive. Ricky maybe a mixture of both. 2 different continents. 2 different worlds. You can't judge from 1 or 2 races.
Cairoli and Everts have been superlative in 2006 MXDN (even if Cairoli crashed in first manche). USA took the victory but no first positions! US are all great pilots (maybe they have the higher medium quality) but have no champions!!! (after RC) PS: It's a pity that never came a bagarre between RC and Everts! the year before Everts wasn't at his best. I hope now in a Miracle for Italian team in MXDN 09, III manche. Go Tony and David!!!
Love this. JS just wasnt man enough to admit that Everts was faster than him. If RC had come that year Everts would have beaten him no question because of the track & conditions. RC was a great 'NATIONAL' champ but would he have won a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP with tracks like Lommel? Everts is the KING OF MX. USA are always going to do well in the overall as they have 260 million people to find 3 fast riders from, a country can have the 2 fastest riders & wont win. Belgium on has 10 Million people.
Lets get one thing straight.Winning US domestic titles and racing on US tracks does not make you the GOAT.If you want to be considered the best you have to compete on the worlds stage. At the MXDN i witnessed Everts passing Bubba with ease. He even gave him a knowing look as he did so.Bubba couldn't live with the world champ and to say he was obeying team orders and riding conservatively is a joke. Everts schooled bubba and he is truly the worlds best.
yes I can, take a county like Belgium it has 10 milion people. Statistically what are the odds of them having '3' world class riders compared to the USA with 300 million population. Its not a European championship, dont be ignorant, it is the FIM sanctioned WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, the european championship is a different series. Yes its mostly raced in europe, but all world championships are i.e moto gp, F1 etc. USA winning MXON is great and the AMA is very fast, but its only a national series.
Its a pretty stupid discussion, there's ppl here totaly insulting riders while you obviously dont know half of it. At the MXon in zolder everts got beat straight up by RC, belgium however got the title. Everts commented that he would have loved to try and stick with RC but wouldnt risk it. BUT everts did admit RC was faster then him that day. RC is very respected by the belgian riders like everts and joel smets. Its sad stewart isnt man enough to admit he was slower, his face just says it all...
the look on stewarts face. admit it boy, you got beat and had your arse handed to you on a silver plate. not to mention "i was riding for my team" bullshit, why did you pass villopoto for 2nd place? a 3rd and a 2nd is the same as a 2nd and a 3rd, also nearly took villopoto out.
Should be America v Europe v rest of the world, ten riders from each. Belgium population 10 million, America population 300 million. 'nuff said...? Stewart fell off in 1st race trying to stay with Everts, so much for racing for team. RC v Everts? Depends on track, shame Ricky never did the WORLD Championships, would've been awesome. The top two, nonetheless.
last time i checked bubba hadn't got 10 world titles. bubba wasn't conservativley at all he's just making excuses. ooh and carioli was way faster than villipoto
Ask any rider or team manager which is more important an individual class win or the team win, and they'll tell you the team win is more important. I'm not even sure what you're going for here. Are you suggesting Everts never got beat by an American? Well he has plenty of times.
Sorry that BS line of reasoning doesn't explain the absolutely outrageous number of moto wins that the USA racks up during the course of dominating the MXDN since 1980. If your idea had any validity whatsoever the Euros would be wininning a lot of motos, but the USA just having many consistent finishes, which isn't true. The USA often sweeps the motos. Carmicheal whipped Everts at Everts' own home track at the 2003 MXDN. Evert's never won anything significant when he raced in the USA.
You can't state that the USA has 260 million people (actually +300 million) when you're trying to down play the American dominace of the MXdN, and then in the next sentence insinuate that Ricky Carmichael is only a "National" champion. Everts would have a hard time winning a national championship in the USA. In the USA he'd just be one good racer amongst many. The European championship is a notch less than the USA championship. Just because you call it a "world" championship doesn' t impress.
Everts won the motos on that day. Don't try to inflate it all out proportion. The MXdN is a team competition. Don't try to change it up after you lose. I've never heard of a racer being on a losing team and then showing poor sportsmanship by trying to change the rules of the race after the race has been run. Did Carmichael do that after he soundly whipped Everts at in Belgium in 03? My guess would be Everts would say, my team won, and that he raced for the team.
It's only an FIM sanctioned "WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP" because you guys call it so. Believe me. Nobody in the USA considers the GP series champion the WORLD CHAMPION. It is considered a European championship. Guys like Pichon win multiple FIM championships and can barely win a race in the USA. Guys that aren't even National championship caliber in the USA have won FIM championship. The dominance of the USA at MXdN should give you a hint about the relative level of the 2 championship series.
oh boy here we have another ignorant yankee screaming ...AMA is a national race , just remember .Its great and with many top riders but it is a national only racing in USA , and if you dont see the MXGP is the real Worldchampionship , you got a problem , as they have riders from all over the world and race on tracks all over the world .. you call youre baseball champ a worldchamp , you call youre basketball champ a worldchamp ... and there are only americans playing in it from american teams hahahaha .. you know there is another world out there , dont they teach you that at school ?? LOL hilarious how ignorant and narrowminded some US people can be
Your list still proves that the Americans are winning the majority of the motos. You have conveniently truncated the list at 06'. If we take the list back all the way to 80' the picture becomes clearer.
The gap has certainly narrowed from Euro to USA. However, your list is somewhat cherry picking since it starts at 06'. The list also demonstrates that the USA has not been able to field a team with all of their best riders in a long time at MXdN, but that the USA's problem so it's not to be used as an excuse. The USA's 3 fastest riders are Villopoto, Dungey, and Stewart. They're also the 3 fastest riders's in the world.
Nostalgia at it’s best! Proud to say I was there. Always loved your vids dude, today I came across Shredder Mag being printed at the print factory I work at. Read it, read your article, now here I am watching Rankin vids from the golden era 😊 cheers!

This song 'What About It' is by the late New Zealand artist Darcy Clay form his 'Jesus I Was Evil' EP, 1997
Darcy checked out in early 1998.
However he lives on of course! 'Jolene' still fills the dance floor, nearly ten years later!

Damn it was a good time!
dat day was sick
bubba was doin huge whips

#40 - Max Nagl
With RV and RD this year... i think the US will sweep the 1st places of the 3 motos... (No James Stewart)

Everts was great but put him on a SX track and he wouldnt get top 20...
People said the same about Tim Gajser before last year`s MONSTER ENERGY CUP.
He got 5th with 7-4-4...
@@BlackGr0use He did good but that was no SX track. We all know he would catch on fast tho..
RC4 is the GOAT not this competition dodger. Remind me again the country that WON the 2006 MXDN?
