Same. It’s a quick slide to release it and swap batteries/access the sd card slot on the x100. I guess if they made this specifically for the Fuji, they would include a hole for easier access. Trade offs. Thanks for being here.
I’ve had one on my X100F for several weeks now, and I’ll never go back. For street photography it’s the perfect accessory. It’s obviously designed for people who carry their camera in hand or use a tripod plate, not for folks who connect their camera to their tripod with a 1/4” screw, so there’s that to consider. As for accessing the card/battery compartment, it’s all of eight or nine seconds out of your life. For me that’s not a problem. I’ve always used wrist straps (Hyperion makes a great one for a bargain price), and I still prefer that for my X70. But for the X100 series or similarly sized cameras, I give it two thumbs up, except for the price. It’s $65 and really ought to cost about half that.
There should be a time trial for people accessing their battery/SD cards using this strap. I’m betting you could get in and out in less than a minute (just like Nick Cage). Thanks for the tip on Hyperion, I will look into it. The only other wrist/hand strap I have is the one that came with the canon c70. I am constantly regripping to get high/low angles so it never lasted in there more than a day before I shelved it. I do agree that it is a bit pricey for what it is. I suppose their lifetime warranty is covered under that price tag. Having returned a PD iPhone case due to a defect, I can say their customer support is pretty great.
I just bought the same thing. I have not put it into use as I am thinking of a way to detach the strap whenever necessary. Although the I plate could be released by the screw, it is still attached to the camera via the strap - Sometimes I just want to get rid of the clutch and use cuff instead (for ultimate lightweight and compact setting).
Respect! Yeah a small quick-clip or mini-carabiner would maybe sort you out on having an easy release for the strap area. Let me know where you land and the solution you come up with.

OOOH goods question! I feel like the plate is thin enough that it should be able to fit underneath the bottom of the leather cover... but don't quote me on that. Maybe reach out to peak design. You can sign up for text communication with one of their reps. They would be happy to investigate that for you. #notasponsor
I'm sure some Chinese company will steal the design and improve it by miles. The design is good but heck battery and memory door is inaccessible at all. Maybe custom plate for each camera and the leather loop is a separate stuff
It likely will be ripped off by a third party company… I will say that the quality of the ingredients (components) is very good. Everything feels robust and well machined with the PD micro clutch (not a sponsor). They are known for customizing their mobile products for each new model of phone… maybe they should take a page from their own playbook and make some options for popular small cameras? Thanks for being here!
@@timmuza yeah I known their quality . I have 3 PD bags, 2 slings and 1 backpack. Their design most of the time are genius when it was released but sometimes, like this one, imo, a bit dumb

The fact that you can't mount any tripod 1/4" screw over that base (clutch) ... Makes it the most stupid design i have ever seen in the camera gear realm.
Wouldn’t that be great if it had a screw mount on the bottom of the plate too! Maybe in the next iteration. I suppose they designed it for people who carry and photograph handheld. thanks for sharing, i've come across your videos several times and always have a nice time!
Thanks for the review I've been looking for! As for the tripod/capture plate part, I wish it didn't cover battery slot so much tho

Awesome to see another youtuber from Ontario!

Hey Brian, I shoot on (mostly) Canon for weddings & commercial clients. and fuji for fun/travel : ) Thanks for being here.

Great video.

Facts.
He said them really quietly.
great review, easy to watch.Thank you
Thanks Paul. I still love this strap. I imagine it works just as well with the new x100vi.
I was promised José’s first words.
A leather loop won't require a plate and not give you the hassle of removing the plate whenever you have to take the battery and SD card off.
Plus! Leather loop is a lot of fun to say out loud. I’m glad you found something that works for you. Thanks for being here : )

Peak design has a great return policy (as far as I know). I hope you find something that works for your hands/camera : ).
