  • A small hawk flew into my window and was knocked out for a while. I put in in a big box to keep it warm and out of the wind while it recovered. I was worried that the box was too narrow for it to get out, so I decided to tip it on its side so the bird could just walk out when it was ready. When I tried to tip the box, it jumped on my arm and just sat there for 10 minutes or so. It was amazing. It eventually flew away. I'm so happy it didn't die.
(I just finished rereading the entire Joe Pickett series by C.J. Box, so Nate Romanowski was fresh in my mind when this happened, if you have read the books, you know what I mean, if you haven't, check them out.)

Concussion. That's an adult female also, tiny hawks for sure. Females average about 145-180 grams is all. Males average 80-90 grams.
