Maren Jenson Me too, I remember this clearly. We were told it was too important to mess up, as it had to be perfect. And one of the priests had a stuttering problem. For some reason, they thought it was a good idea to have him bless the sacrament often. Then again, there were only a few young men 12-18 in that branch. I swear, people don't realize that this brand of "attaining perfection" does indeed cause massive mental health problems and actual nervous breakdowns for people. As it's impossible to be perfect, but the bar is so high that for some, it causes very real problems when they can't attain it. And often it's over ridiculous stuff that shouldn't matter, not actual sins. Other times, it's over things you cannot choose, like with LGBT people. For them, often, leaving the church becomes the only viable option when it comes to mental health. Moreso for trans people than gay, but it still applies nonetheless, as even being celibate, you're an outsider. You're not like everyone else, and constantly struggle with just wanting to live your life. The struggle is very real, and rarely discussed *within* the culture. It's always "pray and have faith," "follow the commandments," etc but none of that will fix many of these issues. Issues that shouldn't even be issues.
Byu Idaho sounds like a nightmare. Who the hell has a curfew when they're in college. That's bullshit. It would be a nightmare to try to date a girl if you are going to that school no thanks.
Despite how strong societal beliefs and biases were in olden times God would always have had the eternal knowledge and perspective to know as well as we know now that skin color is about as relevant a personal trait as hair or eye color, so why would white skin have EVER been a requirement to be eligible to attend the Mormon temple or be ordained to the priesthood? (Hint: It NEVER would have been. NOT EVER.)
What is your purpose in baptism. In the Christian tradition that is a serious committment to Christ and there must be descipleship and learning that follows the baptism.
OK; thanks for the clarification. It is located in northern Arizona and a yellow pages of there, under churches, will reveal that most of the are LDS churches. but, I understand what you mean. Perhaps it is near there that is is so and not in the middle of town itself.
How do you get that far along in being a Mormon w/o having heard about blacks and the priesthood, the polygamy and such with Joseph Smith and other damning issues? I mean, the guy by his own admission was *BATHED* in Mormon teachings his entire upbringing, yet these things didn't come to light till he was in *COLLEGE* ? Especially in the age in which we live w/technology. Do most Mormons take what is spoon fed to them as the sole truth and they never even desire to learn things independently?
It was a lot more hidden in the nineties. When the internet became better and more widespread, the church was forced to open up and make a lot of excuses as all their dirty laundry suddenly caught up. Plus, that's not exactly the kind of thing people like to talk about. In seminary they teach you to seek truth from "divine sources" -- if it's antimormon its untruthful and motivated by SATAN, so he probably didn't feel comfortable looking at outside sources.
It’s a cult, they are super good at hiding things. They tell you if you read, watch, listen to things critical of the church you’re inviting satin into your life.
@@Kman. I know, I know. But if you see something critical about the Church you are taught that if you consume that content you’re inviting Satin into your life. True story, when I was nine I went to a sleep over with some older girls in the neighborhood, they weren’t members of the church and wanted to watch a scary, R rated movie - I knew I shouldn’t but I so wanted to fit in with these older cool kids that I went along with it. A few days later my baby brother, who was 8 months old, got very sick from spinal meningitis & almost died. I spent years thinking that it was my fault for watching the movie. People leave churches all the time. For everyone that leaves, another one joins and the cycles goes on. I doubt it is losing the millennial generation, but it is losing some millennials.
What I want to know is where you find God after you leave the false doctrine (cult)? There are many fine things about being Mormon... Christian churches don't have the family emphasis, activities, outreach to the needy, political activism, aggressive teaching of the Bible, etc. So how do ex-Mormons fill the void?
Dawn Katz That. is an EXCELLENT question.. I haven't been in the LDS church for years.. And I had MANY friends that weren't Mormon. But some people I know who have left, literally sit at home sad on Sundays missing their culture, even if they don't miss their religion.
There are good Christian churches but you have to find the right church for you. Some are too big and it's harder to connect. Some are too small and you'll find there are some people who don't want to connect and just want to be fed the word then get out. One would have to "shop" churches to find a home where they can find that connection. I think a person's nature is to be loved and connection is a huge part of that. The LDS church is notorious for that and it is a beautiful thing but as good as that is, a false gospel doesn't get you to God in heaven for eternity. I've heard some people are never near other people and when they go to church, they get a hug from a brother or sister and that's the only connection they get. It's a sad but true fact. We try our best to focus on groups meeting together to do life together, families with children so they grow knowing who their savior Jesus Christ truly is, youth activities so kids can bond & learn to trust each other and any other kinds of connection. I'm personally meeting with the guys (mostly from church) at a gun range to connect and in two weeks grilling with families from church. That's my family. I have my family, my church family and work family. I, like our church, focus on that connection. That love for one another as commanded. Which is not hard to do when you are filled with The Holy Spirit.
klarity I found Christ at 26 years old I had been a Catholic all those years my mother was 52 the Lord says believe and be baptized thou shalt saved and thine house. all my house all my relatives received Christ and gave our lives to him. the Lord anointed me to heal the sick and my mom to cast out devils and the gift of Miracles. great things happen when you find Jesus Christ. the truth never leaves you where it finds you. so that we can truly say as Romans 8:28 says and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called. God loves you klarity don't allow Satan to make you feel bitter. God loves you and you're in my prayers.

Issues that shouldn't even be issues.
audio left channel only is terrible... would be best to recast just balance the two channels mono
I really love you guys🖤🖤
Byu Idaho sounds like a nightmare. Who the hell has a curfew when they're in college. That's bullshit. It would be a nightmare to try to date a girl if you are going to that school no thanks.
Bruh it's a private school. That can happen. They want college to be about education.
4:45 after watching Zelph on the Shelfs newer more recent content, this part was hard to hear.💔💕
The sound track isn't working.

"I'm taller than Tanner... " Lol
Whoa! Tanner my squeaky clean Mo.
he is really joyful!
You need to put the link in the description. Just a thought...
The stuff he’s saying about missions is true. Priestcraft the max for a church who wrote preach my gospel and wants the Holy Ghost to convert.
BYU sounds just like Islam with clerics issuing fatwas. Not enough people compare the cultures of those religions.
NOT EVER.)
THis kids looks so Mormonish, but sounds like a good person. The girls didn't get much time to talk, did she?
We went to college together and he was an amazing person
I'm like 90% sure she was in my ward at the I. Small world

Tanner and I went to college together
When you teach that the Bible is not fully true and cast doubt. What are Mormons to do that leave the true church once they find out it’s false?
That is the whitest guy on earth, lol. Joseph Smith married Dan Jones’ wife too.
What is your purpose in baptism. In the Christian tradition that is a serious committment to Christ and there must be descipleship and learning that follows the baptism.
Flagstaff represent!

Mormons - Multiple wives but no beer
I dont have a religion so i can have multiple wives + beer . I won
They’re all but babes!! 😭🖤 I’m an atheist, born and raised, but I just love these three 👏🏼🎉
A hippie went to Salt Lake and got LSD confused with LDS. He went on a mission instead of a trip!
what a minute, as far as I know, Flafstaff, AZ is a Mormon town. So, why is this young man saying that they were a minority there?
OK; thanks for the clarification. It is located in northern Arizona and a yellow pages of there, under churches, will reveal that most of the are LDS churches. but, I understand what you mean. Perhaps it is near there that is is so and not in the middle of town itself.
Pedro Rodriguez I don't think Flagstaff is.. wealthier place.. More libs.. Less Mormons. I LOVE Flagstaff. I wish I could afford to live there.!
the left side guy looks cool!
King Follet did it for me
How do you get that far along in being a Mormon w/o having heard about blacks and the priesthood, the polygamy and such with Joseph Smith and other damning issues?
@@jacksonthedoggy Bbb-uuut, the *INTERNET.*
That I had invited Satin & evil into my life and almost got my brother killed. The Church really mess with your head.
@@jacksonthedoggy I don't doubt you for a moment, and those SAME things happen with those leaving OTHER cults/cultish churches that mask themselves as Christian.
people are tired of bishops asking personal sex questions and being forced to pay tithes for salvation
stanley maestas this is not true

People leave churches all the time. For everyone that leaves, another one joins and the cycles goes on. I doubt it is losing the millennial generation, but it is losing some millennials.
armchairjudge the ones that think for themselves leave.

Tell us your background, pro-Mormon or ex-Mormon?
Mormon Stories? What about Brainwashed Tales.
Thank you...
👌👏👏👏👍 yep
Thanks...
All religious nuts are brainwashed.
klarity I found Christ at 26 years old I had been a Catholic all those years my mother was 52 the Lord says believe and be baptized thou shalt saved and thine house. all my house all my relatives received Christ and gave our lives to him. the Lord anointed me to heal the sick and my mom to cast out devils and the gift of Miracles. great things happen when you find Jesus Christ. the truth never leaves you where it finds you. so that we can truly say as Romans 8:28 says and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called. God loves you klarity don't allow Satan to make you feel bitter. God loves you and you're in my prayers.
Good to hear you left LDSinc, they're nothing but a bunch of mind controlling liars. Again, good for you!!
