This single reached Number 1 best selling single in the US Billboard rock/metal chart for the first time for both bands!
If you see comments talking about how cool was one of the singers turning around at the end, that's a reference to a video reaction they did last week. But the one who really looks cool are oc the ladies striking a pose near the end which is also the pose they used when performing live right from the beginning.💃
Last weekend of May they played this song at FOX_FEST Festival in Japan along with Electric Callboy, everyone went bonkers with this awesome collab of the year and hit of this summer. They also released the official live if you don't wanna stop and keep pushing it to the limit.
They also played together once again at Rock Im Park in Germany twice, one during EC show and the other one during BM show wearing cool new outfits. After that they played again at Rock Am Ring and we already got cool proshot clips.
A week ago they finished the Europe Tour and once again with both groups playing this song twice at Resurrection Fest in Spain making everyone going wild.
Polyphia were also at FOX_FEST playing a set and the guitarists Tim Henson and Scott Le Page played together with BM the song Brand New Day, they're special guest in the album version, they were looking for this since a very long time ago and also fans waited for this. We already got an official live MV released recently if you wanna check that out.
BM said in a interview that they got this song and felt it wasn't complete that's why they asked EC to collaborate with them when meeting each other last year in Boston during the US Tour, it was a BM initiative but both bands got each other on the radar. It is known BM composers and producer loves to make tributes and make songs with certain influence from another bands he loves, they did it a lot of times before, one of the most known was with DragonForce doing the guitar arrangements for Road Of Resistance album version, this time EC got more involved in the whole song and that's why this is a 50/50 collab.

Can´t say it often enough, how much I am both surprised and pleased, how well the style of those 2 bands work together! Really trying to manage to see at least EC live as soon as possible! I am hoping that they do a concert on their hometurf during their next tour, as I happen to live in a neighbour town of Castrop Rauxel.

I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 😄. On Day-1, the girls and Nico / Kevin hugged each other (then group hug) to celebrate the success of the live debut (heartwarming!!)

The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. As you many know, the 3 girls and 2 boys were doing this song with EC band in EC shows and with Kami Band in BM shows, in two ways, in some European festivals 💛。
(Just FYI, BABYMETAL also played "Brand New Day" with Scott and Tim from POLYPHIA in the festival. That was beautiful and soothing. You can find a video of the live performance in YT.)

Welcome back. As I'm sure you know, this is a straight collaboration between the two bands even though it is very much in the Electric Callboy style. BABYMETAL do everything. That's one reason their collaborations all work so well, they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are collaborating with.
In this instance BABYMETAL were wanting to make a song along the same lines as Electric Callboy's song 'We Got The Moves' that people could sing and dance along to with them. They felt something was missing so they thought they would ask EC if they would like to do something together with them.
As they were both playing in Boston at the same time, BABYMETAL went to the EC concert and met up with them before the show to chat then stayed on to enjoy the whole of the concert.
'RATATATA' is the result. They have already played it live together 8 times (and separately in their own concerts and at festivals) and there is an official live video from Fox-Fest in Tokyo.
They clearly all get along really well - you can see every time they play together that they are all having the best time.

Anyway, the way that this song was supposedly created was that BABYMETAL asked Electric Callboy to collab on a song that BABYMETAL wanted to do in an EC style. Apparently, they first met in person backstage at a show they were both performing at and started discussing a potential collab there. There was also supposedly a lot of back and forth between the groups in terms of tweaking certain things and making various changes to get the song to a place that everyone liked - although, apparently, last edits and tweaks were happening right up until the day that they shot this video. Anyway, it's been a very successful song for everyone involved and the BABYMETAL and EC have already performed it a number of times at various music festivals, including ones in Japan and Europe.

When you see footage when they both together on stage you can see they had a ton of fun, producing and performing that song. But they also worked quite seriously as well on this song. According to both of them in different interviews the needed 22- 23 versions before the came to an agreement. The exact number is not clear because they stated different numbers in the interviews.

Babymetal was inspired by "We Got the Moves" by Electric Callboy and decided they want to make a song like this themselves. A song where they can dance with their audience. After some failed attempt, they asked Electric Callboy directly to do a collaboration on a song like this. They met in Boston last year for the first time, where EC had a concert that day. They propably discussed everything and later stayed to watch the whole show by EC. Fans spotted Babymetal during that show and rumors started to emerge on reddit. In early May, Nico spoiled this collab in an interview, where he said that a collab was coming, with a non-German band, who are much better at dancing than EC. A few weeks later the first trailer dropped and made it official. Up to >20 versions of this song were send back and forth between Germany and Japan. The video was shot by Electric Callboys "in-house" video company Schillo Bros (owned by Pascal Schillo, guitarist of EC and his brother; they made most of ECs music videos).
