    We’re considering getting the SX10 you’re videos are very helpful. Hoping to determine how quickly linework can be created in Trimble Business center.

      I am working on videos to extract line work from point clouds in TBC. I scanned a local bank property.

    Our company recently purchased an SX10 and although we've used Trimble Access on our data collectors for years none of us know anything about TBC, and I knew nothing about point clouds until a few months ago so your videos have been very helpful. I'm currently trying to learn about all the export formats, and am wondering if there's a way to export to CAD so that all my point cloud regions come in as layers or separate point clouds. The only work around I've found is to export the point cloud regions individually. This is a pain, especially since I don't have Recap Pro.
    Thanks again!

      Recap Pro is about $300 per year....get it! You can then export straight out of TBC. Your killing yourself if you are going to Recap then to CAD.

      @@SurveyingWithRobert We have since purchased Recap Pro, but I still don't see the point cloud regions exported. What am I doing wrong? I did figure out how to export the scan stations using the .PTX format.

      Jon M make sure you are logged in to Recap. If that doesn’t work let me know.

    Can you make a video on start to finish X7 workflow in TBC to AutoCAD/Civil 3D?
    Thanks for your work on these videos!

      So just got 230 mm spheres poles and bipods from SECO. That is totally the plan. Going to look at a slide on a road this weekend.

    I made a surface and when it was imported into Microstation it was unitless, came in a wrong place went back and openend in Autocad changed units to survey feet came in at correct position. Did I do something or is this just something that has to be done? It was from scan data SX10

    Hey Robert! I have been having a hard time trying to figure out how to extract individual 3D points (x,y,z, IDOT, IDGEO, etc.) in any way from point clouds in C3D. I have successfully exported a RCP from TBC and gotten it into Cad, but the extraction features don't seem to let you do anything other that parts of a polygon (corner, side, line). It also doesn't allow you to burst or explode a point cloud for some reason. Can you help with this? Is there any way to individualize the points from a cloud to be used like regular points? Thanks in advance!

    • @SurveyingWithRobert
      @SurveyingWithRobert  Год назад +1

      You need to do most of that in TBC.

      @@SurveyingWithRobert thanks, that helps point me in the right direction. I have created a separate region with all the tree data that I want to isolate, can you tell me the best way to batch convert these to individual points to export? TBC won’t let me export scan points as .csv, or .dxf so that’s why I was thinking it could be done in CAD

      Not unless you want Cad points for all . Create point,

      Seems like unless it’s a small scan you would end up with to many points.

    Maybe the INSUNITS variable in Autocad is on the wrong setting?
