When I was a kid I had a cap gun that loaded the red strips of caps. Despite the fact that it had the back end of the barrel sealed we discovered the force of the cap going off was sufficient to propel a pop corn kernel from the barrel. Back in the "olden days" we had "pop guns". Lever action toy rifles that just fired compressed air and made a noise (the original kind had a cork on a string in the end). We learned pretty quickly that jamming the barrel into hard dirt or gravel turned it into a real, live shotgun! Many a day you'd go home with cuts and bruises from small stones and occasionally someone would have a close call with an "all fun and games 'till someone loses and eye" episode.

Cool video - just so you guys know though, the "grappling hook cannon" works by replacing the upper receiver on an AR-15. Sorry to be "that guy" but just for information's sake: "The Can Cannon operates via a proprietary gas tube, with a blocking bar that prevents live ammunition from being loaded. When a blank is chambered and fired the proprietary tube diverts the high-pressure gas vertically into a larger tube. The volume of the larger tube reduces the high-pressure gas, preventing it from destroying relatively delicate projectiles like a soda can. When fired at an optimum angle (approximately 45 degrees) a soda can reach an average distance of 105 yards! The Cannon is designed to use military m200 blanks."
    Blanks do use gunpowder

These are the toys for the rich kids. I may never get to afford probably in my lifetime. I have made a countless number and a variety of good decent enough homemade slingshots since I was 8 yrs old. I’m now 51. And still into the craft today. So far I can say I’m well satisfied enough with my own creations. Technically The main key to a good powerful slingshot lies in the quality of the elastic bands and the efficienciy of the projectile. The heavier and larger the projectile, the greater the damage it can inflict. The projectile must come in balanced harmony with the elasticity of the bands for the slingshot to be effective.

Some of those were just toys and not suitable for hunting or self defense at all. Those Rail guns don't fire a projectile with enough force to be used for hunting or self defense, they are pretty weak, they'd hurt if hit with them but that's about it. Anything that can launch a projectile near 100 meters per second or better is suitable hunting small game, you need about 150 meters per second or better to hunt something as large as a deer. Those PCP Air Rifles can be obtained that fire a .50 Cal. pellet or arrow, those are suitable for bigger game such as deer. They launch a 1/2" diameter pellet at 650 feet per second. Those pellets even come that explode and come with armor piercing, which will drive a slightly smaller projectile a few inches deeper upon impact. The Crossbow, without the leafs and the PCP Air Gun are your most lethal options in that video.

Gotta remember that slingshots are about half as much power as you'd think, as you have no power input the moment the spring goes slack and that's normally about half the draw length.
Also: that TC-45 isn't powerful enough for Australian wild boar, you need something that'll reliably go through the front of the skull at 50+m and you need a fast second shot just in case; our wild boars are 1/4 tonne and huge.

After seeing more of the designs I noticed that the hunting slingshot rifle has more of the features of my dads patterned design. The one I just mentioned uses the same cocking mechanism, and the slingshot rifle has almost identical design to load it including the pouch that is attached to the tubing. There are really no other features in appearance that are similar and it does not look to use the same materials in the non mechanical parts. I was approached about 15 years ago by a man looking to purchase the prototype so that he could reproduce it being a collector of crossbow type devices. I didn’t have one of the two prototypes but he mailed me a printed copy of my dads Patton. I stated I had seen the weapon but not the actual patten itself but remember the weapon and had even fired it. I know that I had no problem with loading cocking or shooting it at about 9-10 years old. I know his design he used steel ball bearings and also had an attachment to enable the use of arrows. I am now very interested on who holds this patten which is almost identical in mechanisms to my dads, with a very different design in the stock as well as barrels and materials used for the above mentioned items.

There are no patents for these designs Jörg Sprave did. You can find his videos about legal work related to patents, laws, lawyers, costs etc.. He decided he would not put any patents so anyone could make one on his own. There was little to no interest from manufacturers when he asked companies. Currently, a few are using it. Jörg concluded that patents are now only for big companies because a single designer can't afford to defend even plain stealing of an idea when facing a corporation in court.
In the case of such companies, millions and billions are at stake, so it's vital to have it. Owning a patent makes it more expensive the more it is used. So, both the owner and legal user pay small fortunes each year.
As I said, nobody holds any of these patents. His designs were commissioned as originals, so he made all of them available over the Internet. Making patenting any of them impossible. The prime things for registering the patents are: "zero other individual claims, zero popular knowledge (let alone use) of subject and zero available materials, characteristics and designs of it." That's because patents are for NEW THINGS only.
BTW. Jörg Sprave always pays respect to designers if there are any he knows.
I also had an idea of a scooter with a half-sitting position and a single frontal glass for rainy days, but it does not make me a designer. Even if I made the tech documentation with drawings and details.
